Shipping packages to the Grand Californian?

I wanted to pre-send some things to our villa in April, so I called and talked to guest services to find out if GCH would accept packages on our behalf. They will and they'll hold them until we get there, but I wanted to see if anyone had done this before. Has anyone on the boards had a package sent to the GCH? I'm a little nervous having stuff shipped there (it is a big hotel after all), but it would make our lives so much easier if we could do it. TIA!

Not with the GCH but with the HoJo we did, it wasn't a problem at all, our box was tiny and they just had it behind the counter when we checked in. :)

Oh yeah. I live in Canada and lots of companies will not ship here so I had everything shipped to the DLH.

More and more people are shipping even their luggage to hotels, they are used to receiving packages. I ship to hotels all the time (not luggage though!)...just be sure to put:

Attention Guest: (your name)
Arrival Date: (arrival date)

and send via ups or fed ex with delivery and receivers signature confirmation, as well as tracking #. That way you have proof that it is in the hotel when you show up and get "uhhh, we can't find it"...Well, look harder, cuz (insert signers name here) signed for it!

I shipped myself a box last week. I asked for it when we checked in, and they had it to me in minutes. I then put the box, and all my luggage, in storage until my room was ready.

When we did get to our room the message light was lit and it told me to call Guest Services for a message. The message was that there was a package for me to pick up. Seems Bell Services didn't let them know I already had my box.

I put my name on the label as well as wrote my name and check-in date in big letters with a black marker on the outside of the box.

So, all my babbling is to tell you that yes, there is no problem shipping yourself a box :)

Excellent - thanks for all of your help! I figured that Disney would be pretty good about it, but since it's expensive stuff (I can't have it shipped here since we live in Canada - but it's not interesting expensive stuff, just baby stuff) I was scared that they might lose it. I think we'll ship USPS since it's so much cheaper, but I was planning on having a tracking number and signature required.

Thanks everyone!

I had a large package with pin purchases sent there last year. No problems at all.

You can indeed send items from Canada to the United States with both tracking and signature by utilizing Canada Post's Xpresspost-USA or Priority Worldwide services.

Both services offer signature-on-delivery as well as the ability to track your shipment on CanadaPost.ca.

For more information visit http://www.canadapost.ca or your local Post Office.

Sorry, I should have clarified - I'm pre-sending from within the US to the US, then taking the items home with us (since we'll be down long enough that we won't have to pay duty). I had originally sent the online purchases to my parents in AZ, but they're no longer able to meet us at DL due to a scheduling conflict with my Dad's work, so I wanted them to ship the packages to GCH so that I wouldn't have to drive the 5 hours to AZ to pick everything up. :thumbsup2

I also suggest including your reservation # in case there is more than one guest with that name.
