thinking of buying a new bike when i am over in florida in april half the price here
Question
has anyone shipped any thing this big before and if so how would you go about it
thanks

my uncle bought a bike over there and just brought it back as part of his luggage. The airline never batted an eyelid. As long as you have the weight limit, you might be ok, just check with your airline that they are ok with such things.
If you do want to ship it, your going to have to use ups or something like that....and expect to pay for it too !!! I reckon youd be looking at $50 at least.

Whether you post it you will have to word the customes declaration carefully or you will be liable for import duty and VAT when it arrives in the UK, plus a handling fee. You may get away with this if you say state it's a gift.

If you bring it back through customs and you have over £145 worth of goods bought in the US (including the bike) you will need to declare it and pay import duty and VAT on everything over the £145 limit!
