Has anyone else packed up food and shipped it to your self at your resort ahead of time? If so, can you give any pointers for how to do it so it doesn't get lost?

We can't decide whether to stop on the way in, do NetGrocer, or ship it to our selves. This is our first trip home to BWV and we want to take advantage of the kitchen.

Any pointers will be appreciated.

We have used netgrocer the past several trips to the BW. We never had a problem of our order getting lost. Just make sure that your name and date of arrival are on all the packages.

We have used netgrocer the past several trips to WDW, and I can highly reccomend them. I just address the package like this:
Resort Name
My Name
Guest Checking in (insert date)
Resort Address

I am considering doing this also. My question, when you send the groceries, when do you plan for them to arrive. We will be checking in on a Friday. Should I have the delivery arrive the day before or on the day that I am arriving?

Will be using Netgrocer this summer for the first time myself, how far in advance should one place a order before your check in date?

I usually check in on a Saturday, and I schedule delivery for the Friday before I arrive. My packages have all been there on time so far! If you are worried schedule it two days before check in :)

I usually do the order 2 or maybe 3 weeks ahead(you can only order so far in advance, but I can't remember how far that is), and then change the delivery date to what I need :)

I don't think anyone answered this question, and I am curious myself. Haven't done this before and am considering so we don't have to spend vacation time at the Winn Dixie (or whereever).

So, do you have delivery the day of arrival? Does it show up in the morning so it's there by the time you check in?

Edit note: Oops, sorry KathyR, I see that you did answer the question by saying you have the groceries delivered the day before.

Is that the common practice among those who do this?

Do you order only non-perishables? Has anyone ever ordered frozen foods, bread, bagels, cereal, etc? What about fruit? Is the food that is delivered fresh and of good quality?

Sorry for so many questions...

You cannot order perishables from Netgrocer. If you look at the netgrocer site there is a map that will tell you how many shipping days it will take depending on the region you are sending it to. When I used netgrocer, I scheduled the package to arrive the day before us, so that there was a little cushion. It seems like they use Fed Ex to ship, and you get a tracking # and can even check it before you leave from home, if you are flying. I checked mine and it even told me the name of the CM that signed for my package, so I knew that it was there, before we even left home.
