My jaw dropped after pricing an Easter basket through WDW's floral & gifts. My thoughts are to make up one myself and ship it to the resort (Pop).

Has anyone shipped chocolate to a resort before? Was it one big globby mess?

I would probably not ship chocolate. What I might ship would be a more "toy/book" focused basket with some jellybeans, M&Ms (melt in your mouth, not in your hand is true), skittles, nerds, pop rocks, and rice krispie treats...

Shipped chocolate without ice packs will be a big globby mess by the time it reaches you. I live in FL and have had chocolates shipped from a northern company. It has to be shipped overnight with lots of dry ice bags, which gets a bit pricey. Ship the basket with non-melting treats and pick up some Disney chocolates in the resort gift shop when you get there.

Both of you are completely right. Honestly, I am surprised I even asked this question. To my defense, I was in a fresh state of shock over the pricing I had just been looking at.

I bought the stuff (for $25 mind you), no chocolate :), and it is all small enough to put in some luggage away from her little sneaky, peaky, eyeballs.

Thank you for your replies to my stupid, simple question!

We are often traveling for Easter and I've always packed a separate small suitcase with Easter goodies(including chocolate). I then make up the baskets after dc go to bed the night before. I've never had a problem with melting or breakage that way.

I had a rabbit shipped for my son from an allergy website to my sisters in FL. I paid extra for the warm weather packaging and I don't know if they screwed up but it melted so they sent a new one which came fine and the cold pack was cold that time per my sister.

This year I am at a loss. I was hoping to buy in FL but we probably won't have time Other then our arrival day which is the Friday a week before Easter. But even that is iffy because I need to do some grocery shopping and I will want to see what grass looks like after this little snow storm on Tuesday.

I am debating mailing the things I don't think will melt. And just pack the rabbits, peeps, and a few other things I think will melt. I need to decide soon as we are leaving April 7. My only other option is finding a collapsible carry on since aren't taking checked bags as my mother is coming with us but she is in FL now, returning next week and will keep her suitcase there. Or I am thinking we can fit it because we are not bringing an air mattress...I think, may buy it there. Decisions!!
