I need to ship a fairly large (but not too heavy, its a comforter) box. Anyone know what carrier is generally least expensive for big packages? UPS? USPS? FedEx?

Thanks!

I have found that USPS is usually cheaper.
We send big boxes to MN every Christmas and so far, the only one that has ever been lost was the one we sent via UPS. It was the most expensive as well.

edited to add that you can go to each website if you know how much it weighs to "comparison" shop.

I have to send out a package today and I checked out both ups.com and usps.com. For 20 pounds, it is cheaper to go ups.

Try both of their calculators on their sites and see who will be better suited for you.

Try DHL, it's usually MUCH cheaper for me... I ship all my large heavy boxes through them.

There is a surcharge for a box over a certain size - found out the hard way, had to cut my box WAY down !

I discovered quite by accident that Greyhound will also ship large packages like this - if you would be charged the surcharge, it would be cheaper!
