Shipboard Credits as Xmas gifts??

Has anyone ever given shipboard credits as Christmas/Birthday gifts?? If so, do you just call DCL and give them the person's name, sail date and confirmation number or do you need any additional info? Are there set dollar amounts or can you give however much you want?? TIA!!

We've given and received onboard credits, but not as a Christmas or birthday gift. We called and gave sail date, room number, name, etc., and charged the credits to a credit card. Recipients of the gift "find" a printed note in their room when they board the ship (it will be with dinner tickets, etc.). I don't remember if there are specific amounts. We gave $50 gifts and received $100 gifts. What a great Christmas gift!

You can go to DCL website and order shipboard credit there. You need name, cabin # and sail date, I believe.
