Shhhh! Mickey's Twying to Sweep, be Quiet! - A July '11 Anniversary TR - Update 12/24

Hi loyal TR readers!

I just wanted to give you a little FYI. I'm off to WDW tomorrow morning! :cool1: I won't be on the DIS for the next week, but will be back shortly after that with an update. Thanks for staying with me and hopefully you'll join me on my new TR as well.

More details will come next weekend. :thumbsup2

The thought of getting up at 7:30 am is making me cringe right now. :headache: Hahaha it may be because I'm extremely tired and it's 1 am. But you know. That's the only thing about Disney is that I lose my precious sleep time. It's worth it, but dang I am tired. Only for Disney.
Hahaha SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP! I'm sure Kristen appreciates the shout out ;) That is such a good statement. I will definitely be using that on future trips.
AHH YOU'RE GOING TO DISNEY TOMORROW!! I'm so excited for you. I really am. I wish I was going. 47... no wait... 46 days till the christmas trip for me!! It really can not get here soon enough. I'm going slightly insane. It's probably not healthy :rotfl:
Ahhhh and I'm really tired. But okay. Great update! Have a MAGICAL trip! And I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back :) Have fun!!!!

Oh, yeah that's a short amount of sleep time, that's for sure. I like my eight hours.

It is a great statement! It applies in so many areas.

I always go completely insane before I leave for a trip! I have such an insane amount of love for Disney. All it takes to make me happy is just to be there. :cloud9:

Have an awesome trip!!! :dance3:

Thanks! It was lots of fun. I should have a TR posted soon.

:cool1::woohoo::yay::dance3::cheer2: HAPPY DISNEY DAY!!!! :cool1::woohoo::yay::dance3::cheer2:

Anytime! It's a great statement to keep in your back pocket. Catch up whenever you would like. It'll be here.

Haha, Joaquin's rock star pose is awesome! But I think the pic of your dad and the mac and cheese is even better! That's the first thing I looked at and was immediately drawn to it myself.

I'm not quite sure if I have the guts to ride EE. I'm so afraid that I'll get dizzy or feel sick during the backwards part!

Oh YUM, sweet potato fries?!? Howard likes them a lot, so I started to like them too (enough to actually order them instead of fries one time during dinner when I normally just pick off his plate!). We made them at home once with lots of garlic, but they didn't come out the same way. They were really good, but oven fries just don't have that same crispiness.

Boo for a migraine, but yay for another trip!

The picture of my dad with the mac and cheese is classic. That's just how he is. Completely silly.

The backwards part of EE isn't really that disorienting. But, I don't know how sensitive you are, so to me it's not disorienting.

Yeah, sweet potato fries!!! It was the first time I'd ever seen them and I liked the option of something that was different.

Totally missed that you were leaving on your trip.. and now it's over! Hope you had fun!

I think I'm alone on those sweet potato fries at AK. I thought they were awful! My husband makes them at home every now and again, so I think I'm probably just spoiled by his. AK's stuff reminded me of something from an Ore-Ida bag! Fun update!

Haha, no worries about missing the send off. ;)

I would be spoiled by it if someone made them for me now and then too! My mom has always made homemade french fries, so I tend to be a bit of a french fry snob.

Sorry it's been a little while since my last update. Life has gotten so busy, and with being gone, it's taken a little while to catch up. My goal is to finish this TR before I go on my New Year's trip.

I left you with us heading back to BLT. We had all gotten pretty soaked in the process, but it wasn't the end of the world.

By the time we got back to the resort and in the room, what happens? Well, shut my mouth and call me stupid.

Look how bright it is outside now. And clear. You would have never thought that the skies had parted and it was the second coming of the flood.

Since it had cleared up, where did we go? To the pool silly's! That's the best part about going when it's so hot outside.

After we finished cooling off in the pool, it was time for us to decide where we were going to head for dinner. We all agreed upon Wolfgang Puck Express at DTD.

I was starting to get a headache at this time, which didn't bode well with me. I thought at first though that it was because I was hungry, so I kind of blew it off since we were heading to dinner.

Parking was an absolute pain. This is the main reason that I hate going to DTD in the evening. Because everyone else always has the same idea!

We finally found parking and headed in. We left the boys up there to order for everyone and us ladies and the kids found seats. Fortunately, the restaurant was not too crowded. Score! :dance3:

My dinner. Macaroni and cheese.

Mom's rotisserie chicken.

Dad's spaghetti and meatballs.

And a bunch of us got creme brulee.

If I remember correctly, Jason got the spaghetti and meatballs, Joaquin kids chicken tenders, same for Riley, Chris got flatbread, and Sara got the rotisserie chicken. We're all so original, huh?

Not that I was disappointed, but the macaroni and cheese wasn't as good as it used to be. They clearly changed the recipe, because it actually used to be orange, which indicated they had orange cheeses in the mix. It just isn't as good now, but that just IMO. I made the joke that I should have gotten the rotisserie chicken, and always being the mom, mine gave me some of her dinner. She didn't have to, but thanks mom.

I still had my headache after we finished dinner, but I pressed on. We went to World of Disney. I wanted to buy something for Riley, since I had bought something for Joaquin already.

She picked out a Marie plushie, the one that is a baby wrapped in a blanket. She loves those and has several more.

My mom got her an Ariel figure set and Jason got her the carriage that goes with it. Fortunately for Chris and Sara, they drove this trip. Riley was very happy with her haul.

My migraine had finally come to kick my but at this point. I had wanted to go to TrenD to pick up some shirts I had wanted, and mom headed over there with me while everyone else went to the Lego store. I found some goodies, but I was so over it at this point. I felt like someone was pounding on my head over and over again. I told mom that I was going to take a bus back, that I didn't want to ruin everyone else's night.

Again, always the mom, she said that we would all call it a night. I didn't know how everyone would feel about that, but they all said that going back was fine.

When I got back to the room, I was so absolutely happy. Being inside the cool and being able to take some medication made my headache much much better. It just must have been the result of the heat and such.

Being back actually helped out, because it was time for us to pack up. The next morning we were moving out of BLT and back to POP for our final night. We only had 1 1/2 days left in our vacation. :sad1:

Joaquin finally decided that he was going to eat the brownie that he had gotten for dessert. We sat him on the floor with a plate, and how does he decide to cut his brownie?

Because that's how pirate's roll. They never do anything subtle. pirate:

Kid-isms -

Joaquin -

Imma gonna cwush you with my ssshhhhoooooeeee!!! (to the spiders in ITTBAB)

Watch where you're going man! (to the kid in another stroller that we almost had a fatal collision with)

My knee is not a head, it's just a knee. (??????? This one confused me even then. :lmao:)

Riley -

I'm gonna zip his mouth shut! (about Joaquin)

Up next: Jason switches sides?!

Yay an update!! :woohoo:

Lol, isn't it always the way!! It rains bucket loads until you return to your room and then there is no trace of it happening at all!! :rotfl2:

All the food looks yummy!! A shame you didn't enjoy the macaroni and cheese so much but that's sweet of your mum to share her chicken with you.

Oh no on the migraine :sad2: I'm glad that you felt better after some rest. Oh and Joaquin's brownie cuttting and ITTBAB kidism made me :lmao:

That's seriously how it felt. Rain rain, and then suddenly it's like nothing happened.

The migraine is why there weren't many pictures on this update. I was so miserable and so out of it.

The one thing that will be great about NOT having a car during our honeymoon (trying to tell myself that it'll be okay without a car because we've ALWAYS had one in the past!) is that we'll be forced to take the bus to DTD and not have to deal with the crazy parking. It really is insane. You'd think there'd be MUCH more parking since it's possible to spend an entire day there shopping and eating.

Boo for the migraine coming back! I'm glad you were able to get some relief being back in the room.

I'm just always curious where all of the people are. But then I remember that DTD is really big and there are a lot of nooks and crannies that they can hide in.

Hi guys!

Sorry I haven't updated this TR in a while. Things have been kind of crazy lately, but it's winding down now. I'm hoping to update tonight. If I don't tonight, then at least this weekend for sure. ;)

.....how I wonder why there are so many Brazilians everywhere still.

Ha ha, sorry about that one.

This was our move day. We had to get our packing done because we were moving out of our beloved Bay Lake Tower and into POP for our final night of the trip. I woke up around 7am to make sure I could get everything taken care of. Jason woke up shortly after me and we worked on getting everything finished up.

Unfortunately, Joaquin seemed to be running a slight fever this morning. We gave him some medication and it dropped down to normal, so we wondered if it was a result of the heat. Joaquin was acting like there was nothing wrong, so we forged ahead. We made sure that we kept him in a hat and were planning on keeping him in the stroller as much as we could.

We loaded up the van with all of our stuff and headed to Epcot. We managed to get to Epcot around 9:15am, so not too bad. We split up upon our entrance. Jason and I headed to Sunshine Seasons to burn some snack credits for breakfast and Mom and Dad headed to Test Track to get us some fastpasses.

We had 15 snack credits that we had to use that day. :scared1: Crazy right? We had a plan though. We got various snacks for breakfast and burned 9 of them right then. We grabbed a seat and Mom and Dad arrived and got themselves some items too. I can't believe I didn't write it down, but we just got various pastries.

While we were eating, we were serenaded by Joaquin singing "Twinkle Twinkle".

While we were eating we got a text from Chris letting us know that they had arrived at Epcot. They were moving from Bay Lake Tower to the Beach Club for an additional five nights. I thought that they were going to check in, but they decided not to. So, they arrived earlier than anticipated.

Chris said they were getting in line for Spaceship Earth, but I told him we were finishing up eating and had a return time for Test Track. I asked him to come and meet us in the exit area.

After breakfast, it was off to:

Where we were bombarded.

They're all over!

Wicket and Yeti Pook (that's what he will be called now), were hanging out.

So how did Test Track go? Did Joaquin like it? What do you think?

0883efb7.jpg

Doesn't he just look so happy? He LOVED that ride. He kept on talking about going on the racecar.

Chris, Sara and Riley arrived after that and met us in the exit. I ran to get us some fastpasses for Mission: Space and then we all headed to Club Cool.

Joaquin was a little bit mesmerized.

Here's our Beverly experience. Not a great video because it's mostly me talking and trying to catch Joaquin. Ha ha.

After our Club Cool experience, Chris and Sara mentioned that they wanted to go and see Captain EO. I wanted to take the kids to the character spot, so Mom and I took Riley and Joaquin while everyone else went to Captain EO. The wait time was posted at 30 minutes. I figured it would be perfect timing, because with the timing of Captain EO, I figured we would get together at about the same time.

My estimation was clearly off. We waited an hour for the characters. This is what most of our wait entailed.

Poor kiddos. They really hung in there though, I was really happy with them. I will post my pics here, and then the Photopass pics later.

Joaquin was not faring too well in the end. He was tired and cranky and just was not happy. Hence the reason he didn't see Goofy. I had to take him out of there. He just wanted to be held.

Up next: Joaquin's fever comes back to bite....
