Shhh! Super Secret Winter Warm Up Girls Only February Get Away (from the snow)

Yes, Glen & I went to Beijing in 2008 after the Olympics... I know the feeling of trying to plan and travel internationally.

SIXTY (count them! 60!) DAYS UNTIL DISNEY HAPPY! :dance3:

To be honest I'm freaking out just a little....I've been so busy that I haven't been thinking about this every spare minute and now I feel completely unprepared! :scared:

I need to start planning trips for Jan/Feb cause the time flies through Christmas and then your trip is here

We apologize for the interruption to this program....LIFE got in the way of "Shhh! Super Secret Winter Warm Up Girls Only February Get Away (from the snow). We now return to your regularly scheduled planning....

Day 2:

Magic Kingdom Day! WOOT!

LOVE MK day! Love love love love MK day! The plan is to arrive early for rope drop so that we can see the opening ceremony. I love that little show. Just puts me in the mood. Good morning, good morning....:rolleyes1

I'm thinking we will head right over to Pirates and Haunted Mansion first. Two of our favorite rides. But mostly I just love walking down Main Street when it's mostly empty and that first glimpse of the castle.

By the way, have you checked out the new fragrance line at the Disney store? The one that has Mickey on it
6452047841558
smells JUST like Main Street. DD and I were shopping at the Disney store and smelling all the candles and lotions. She said, "MOM! It smells just like Disney!" Sure enough, the checkout lady told us it's designed to smell like everything you smell when you walk down MS. I bought it all! I would roll in that stuff if I could! ;) (Ok, nobody go getting any funny ideas!)

Ok, so we are walking down Main Street and heading over to Pirates...and we need to see the Tiki Room. DD and I both wanted to see it last time (after the fire) and the CM told us that the birds were all on vacation. He acted shocked when I mentioned the fire. (What, does he not read the disboards?)

I think we might have lunch at Cosmic Rays since we both love that place, will need to ride TTA and see the Laugh Floor comedy show...I forsee a nice relaxing day at MK with our dinner reservations for 5:00pm with Eeyore at Crystal Palace.

Then we will stay for fireworks. It's an all day plan at MK. I still haven't seen the Magic, Memories and You show at the castle either, so I want to be sure and see that this time.

Oh, and the cutest thing happened the other day, DD and I were talking about Disney and she (very sweetly) says to me, "Mom, remember last time when we went and it was close to Valentine's Day and you had a little present for me? Are you going to do that again? Will you have little gifts for me?" (with those big innocent, sweet blue eyes). I'm so excited to give her all her little gifts this time! What fun!!!

I don't see any mention of Fantasyland in those plans :scared1:

I completely forgot about the new memories show and didn't see it once in 11 days on my last trip. Hopefully it will still be around in September

Oops! Yes, we will be in Fantasyland! Anna will have to ride IASW and we like Peter Pan and of course Mickey's Philharmagic! Got to have one of the photos with the 3-D glasses, right? It's a scrapbook staple! I just didn't list all the rides Natalie. STAY CALM. :) My friend saw the M&M show and said she really liked it and was surprised at how much she enjoyed it.

So are you gonna have gift? :lmao:

Yes, I got gift. :) I got gift for this sweet face:

Glad to finally see an update! :thumbsup2 How dare you let life get in the way of planning for Disney! :lmao: Just kidding!

I did not see mention of a Dole Whip in your plans for MK day. :confused3

Umm.....:guilty: I've never actually HAD a dole whip....my snacks of choice are usually a Mickey Ice Cream Bar and a sweet cream cheese pretzel. But thanks for noticin'

Daily Drama Report:

Sunday night DD got attacked by a cat...not ours (of course! Ours are all totally sweet). We were at our friends' house for a party Sunday night. I was in the room with her and the cat was fine and then all of a sudden just turned on DD and grabbed her with both front claws and bit her. He actually bit her twice. And then we found out the cat was about 6 months overdue for his rabies shot....

As soon as we got home I called DS (the vet) and he advised me to immediately call our pediatrician. They called in an antibiotic which I wasn't able to pick up until Monday morning because all the pharmacies were closed. Well, I suppose I could have taken her to the hospital but the doctor did not think it was necessary.

By Tuesday it was clear that she had a really bad infection in her hand (red and swollen all around her wrist). The doctors didn't tell ME what they were thinking but I overheard them conferring with each other (Ok, let's be honest....I had my ear to the door eavesdropping!) and they were discussing a referral to a surgeon because they thought the infection had invaded the joint spaces in her wrist/hand. They put her on a SECOND stronger antibiotic in addition to the one she was already taking.

We saw the doctor again today and thankfully (lots of friends and family praying!) the swelling and redness appear to be getting better.

Oh, and the kitty is quarantined for 10 days and if he is well at the end of that time, she is safe as the rabies virus could not have been active when she was bitten. We've already had the post-rabies vaccine a few years ago...NOT fun!

I feel like my life has been one big drama the last few weeks with just one thing after another....so tonight I'm baking cookies and doing something NORMAL!!! :goodvibes

I think we are down to 47 days til our trip. I cannot wait!! And I'm really glad that I booked that extra day! :wizard:

Oh my...who would've thought a cat would bite like that...and then get that infected. I hope she continues to heal.

Today was DS's 12th b-day. He had a sleepover last night with 4 other 6th graders. Good times. If you HAVE any 6th grade boys, you'll understand!

I got RideMax last night. I love  when it's time to get RideMax again! Then it's really real that we are going and the SERIOUS planning starts! I am SO ready! (for planning....I feel COMPLETELY unprepared for the trip!)

DD and I spent a good part of the evening reviewing all the rides at the parks and choosing which ones we want to be sure and do in February. I think I may have talked her into Rockin' Roller Coaster! We had fun and decided that we should do something that starts with each letter of the alphabet for our trip....for example, for B we will ride Buzz Lightyear...for C we will visit Club Cool, etc. We couldn't come up with anything for A, D, N, O, Q, V, X, Y, Z. Any ideas? We also decided to try something new at each park that we haven't done before or at least haven't done in a long time.

If DD will ride RnR with me, that's our new one for DHS. And we will do the Tiki Room at MK since she's never seen that before. (I've done both of these but that's ok). At Epcot I think we will do Living with the Land because the last time we did that, she was only 5 and I don't think she remembers it. I think she will like it. So I don't have a new one yet for AK.

Had my last day at the church office Monday. :sad1: I'm grieving. I will really miss working there. So, now I'm totally on my own. :scared1: I will either make it or not with my new office.

DD's cat bite is ok. No more infection. And the kitty does not have rabies so that's good! Whew! I was really afraid we were going to have to do the rabies shots or that she might have to have surgery.

I like the way you think! Good ideas!

All of a sudden today I am SO excited about our trip. I guess it's because the stress of the holidays is over now and I can actually think about it! Either that or I'm just SERIOUSLY in need of a vacation!

Tomorrow one of my BFF's is coming for a visit. She lives in CA so we rarely get to spend time together, but she and her family are nearby visiting relatives so they are coming to spend the day with us. :cool1:

38 days til our trip...and I don't even have a countdown calendar yet! WHAT is going on with me?!?!?!

I did buy a new swimsuit. I ordered it online and it actually fits and looks a little cute. :wizard:

Ok so I have to apologize, I just got caught up with the updates here. Glad to hear all is well with Anna. And do 4th graders count? I said to Glen after Ethan's birthday sleepover this summer that I would have rather had 10 girls than the 5 boys.

You must try a Dole Whip, that would cover two bases, the letter D and something new! ;) You do like pineapple right?

I DO like pineapple....

And according to my thinking, any large group of children staying overnight = a big ole headache! I do it because I love her, but never by my own choosing!

I have SUCCEEDED! I have managed to create a future Dis-boarder, Disney planning, Dis-fanatic! :cool1: All of a sudden, DD is SUPER excited about our trip. Today while we were waiting for DS at the dentist, she pulled out a notebook and pencil and started making ANOTHER ABC's of Disney list of attractions for us to visit. She proceeded to tell me that "we will print this out and take it with us to the parks and then whenever we do one of these rides, we can check it off!" (she says gleefully with a big cheesy smile)

THEN, she says to me, "Mom, we can have a contest for finding hidden Mickey's to see which one of us can find the most" and she pulled out another piece of paper and started making a list of rules for the contest.

1. Each person can find no more than 10 hidden Mickey's per day (so that the other person, who may not be as good at spotting them does not become discouraged and want to give up)
2. The hidden Mickey must have nearly equal sized ears and not be all lopsided or it doesn't count.
3. Mickey can be filled in with a design.
4. If you use a hinting device (such as the game on my phone) other opponents also have the privilege of using the same hint.
5. Mickey's count only if not the actual character and must be found on Disney property. (A hidden Mickey in your coffee creamer on the plane apparently won't count)
6. We will each keep score by drawing a Mickey head on our score sheet each time we see one.
7. Winner gets to decide what we do the last day in the parks.

When we got home from the dentist, she did her chores and started choosing her clothes to pack for each park day....based on a THEME related to our dining reservations for each day!!!! popcorn:: So, the day we are at AK and eating dinner at Boma she was choosing a "Bomian" outfit.

And THEN (the pièce de résistance) was when she decided to make a packing list. I offered to pull out my copy of the Ultimate Disney packing list....and she decided that it was really cool that we are flying Southwest after all because we get 2 suitcases and a carry on and by golly, we are going to need them now! :thumbsup2 That's my girl!!! I know how many pairs of underwear to pack now!

So, perhaps there is hope for me converting DH after all? :confused3

I'm having so much fun planning it with DD now that she is onboard with my OCDD (obsessive compulsive Disney disorder)! ;)
