Shhh! Super Secret Winter Warm Up Girls Only February Get Away (from the snow)

Today I'm looking at more detailed plans for each of our days! :surfweb: (and drinking a gingerbread latte from Starbucks). If they ever put Starbucks at Disney my DH would never see me again. Wait....if there was Starbucks at WDW AND a Doctor Who attraction in UK at Epcot, THEN he would never see me again. And maybe a scrapbooking venue at the resort. I could vacation all day and come back to scrapbook about it while drinking my latte at night. Of course I might never sleep again either. Oh, and if I could have a kitty and my dog with me....oh just forget it. It's too much trouble to move EVERYTHING I love to Disney!

So I'm printing out menus from the places we are eating. I really, really need to eat lunch before I start reading them! Since I typically plan the trip around where I want to eat, I'm starting with meals and arranging everything else to fit them. (I wonder if this could be considered a problem?) Do you notice a theme here? Our movie nights are also themed by where we are going to be dining. And I think I've passed on my "issue" to my DD because she was not so excited about the movie nights until I told her we would plan a special menu around each movie. Then she was all in!

I totally plan my trips around food too!!!! I know what I want to eat so I go to that park!!!!

I brought Tony's up to Emma and she really wants to eat there on her birthday so I think I'm going to take out Mama Melrose... one Italian is enough I think

What do you mean ONE Italian is enough?!?!? :rotfl: I never get tired of Italian food!

DS and I ate at Mama Melrose (along with BFF and her son) in 2009. We really liked it. DS had the pizza. (How do I remember this?!?! I don't know!)

Tonight was our first movie night. I'll try and post about it tomorrow since I'm really fried tonight.

Well I have changed my vacation plans so looks like Mama Melrose and Tony are both in this trip
I had the Charred Strip and it was very good!

Movie night???? Where is the posting???? :surfweb:

We had our first Movie Night last night. DD REALLY got into planning the menu! She made this and planned our meal.

We had chicken patties cut into the shape of fish
and shrimp
and she made the "blue sea lemonade" by putting some blue food coloring in it!
Then she made the starfish out of pretzels and raspberries with chocolate drizzle.

Even DS seemed to enjoy the movie although he complained about it when we told him what we were planning. Afterwards DD had us play a game where we had to guess who said different quotes from the movie. A very fun night!

I love your tie dye shirts. I just started tie dying myself...it's addicting

Just got caught back up on your updates. Looks like the first movie night was a success! Can't wait to read more plans and changes! :surfweb:

Thanks Jen! DD made that one. The kids made tie dye shirts at VBS this summer and then DS went and bought all the stuff and helped DD and her friends do some shirts. I thought it was sweet. but don't tell him I said that! Yesterday he helped DD make a "mixed tape" CD of all her favorite songs and then he made her a cover for the CD of her favorite, Taylor Swift. Since he's been in middle school I don't see that much of his sweet side so it was really nice! :goodvibes

Santa Katie!!! Thanks for reading. :)

Great movie night! I love that DD thought of stuff, I never let them help with ours but should have :confused3

She really got into it when I told her she could help me plan the menus for our movie nights. I showed her the list of my ideas and she just went with it! She's very creative and she LOVES doing that kind of thing. You should see her plans for her b-day party next weekend! She handmade all her invitations using my cricut to cut zebras for each one.

Gee I wonder where she gets that from?????

Ok, BIG HUGE news! BIG! For anyone who followed my PTR from our Christmas Miracle trip last year, you may know how much I LOVE all things African. I have always (for as long as I can remember) dreamed of actually getting to visit Africa. My youth minister and his wife were missionaries in Africa for many years after I graduated from high school and now they are now the senior pastors at my parent's church in IL. The pastor of my church is his brother. Small world....long story! A few years ago we hosted 2 pastors from Africa in our home--one spoke only Portuguese but DS really made a connection with him and we are still in contact with the one who spoke English.

But...here's the big news part....I think that my son and I will be going with them on a trip to Africa next summer! We will visit Johannesburg and then be in Tete Mozambique and possibly in Malawi for a visit to a game reserve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will be helping to build a school there and we will get to visit the district center where our church built a well last year. (Well, we raised the money for the well to be built). My son is SO excited! We will be in Africa for 2 weeks. We will also be able to see Pastor B. who stayed in our home a couple of years ago. He will be directing the mission project and building of the school.

The funny part is that DS hates to fly. He didn't want to go to Disney last year because he didn't want to make the 2 hour plane trip to Orlando!! The flight to Johannesburg will be at least 18 hours and then further from Johannesburg to Tete. And he is fine with it! Who IS this child?!?!?:confused3

I really never thought this could actually happen.

So.... I don't read Pre Trip Reports usually... but I stumbled upon yours and I think I'm going to stick around :) I really want to hear about your trip!! I love that you booked the trip before you even told your husband :rotfl: My Mom and I would totally do something like that and then tell my Dad after. So funny.

Anyways... I can't wait to hear more about your plans! And 99 days goes by fast - trust me! I feel like it was just 99 days until my trip and now there are only 44! :scared1: I'm freaking out  SO EXCITED!

And that's AWESOME about the whole Africa thing! I hope that all works out! What an amazing experience!

Thats awesome about Africa! You should do a TR on that cause I'm sure lots of us would love to hear about it!!!

Hi! And welcome :welcome: to my PTR! Thanks for reading....especially when you don't usually follow PTR's. :goodvibes

I sneaked over to your TR about your girlfriends' and mom's trip staying at Yacht club (ya-CH-t). You are are very entertaining writer! I shall have to read more!

Natalie, I KNOW!!! Isn't it exciting? And a little scary too! I've only ever been to Mexico on a cruise and the Bahamas on the Disney cruise. That's the extent of my international travel! I'm the trip coordinator for our church (I'm sure it's hard to imagine why Pastor P. would put me in charge of planning something.....). There will be 2 groups going--the Illinois group and the Maryland group. We will meet up in Johannesburg most likely as it will be difficult to coordinate our other flights until we are actually in Africa. I'm hoping that maybe one of my cousins from the Illinois church will come! DS and I already have passports due to our Disney cruise a couple years ago.

DD isn't very happy that I'll be gone for 2 weeks. I'm trying to comfort her with the thought of our nice long week at WDW in 90 days!!!!!!! NINETY! It feels like it is coming so fast now!

DD has her 9th b-day this weekend. She has planned a "zebra party." Don't ask me where that came from....but we have all zebra decor and she has the whole menu and games planned. I said, "So all I have to do is make the food and tell you when it's time to go to bed?" "Yep." I think DS is going to spend the night at a friend's house to get away from all the girly giggling so DH and I can probably watch a movie together or something. I plan to have the birthday fairy come after she goes to bed Friday night and set up some surprises for her to find when she gets up Saturday morning. And then I think we will go to the mall (the one with the DISNEY store, of course!) for a couple of hours.

I am so hyper today! I should be using this energy to clean my house.:laughing::laughing::laughing:(wiping tears from my eyes) Oh, that's a good one.

Lenora that is exciting news! You guys will have a great time! Good luck with the bday party this weekend!! And tell Anna we said HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

22 days an no update?! Isn't your trip quickly approaching? I'm wasting away in front of the computer here! :surfweb: :rotfl:

Ok, first of all, I can't believe you are counting! :rotfl: And I know! I know! I've been SO busy. I'm working 3 jobs right now while I'm training the new person to take my place at the church office and my own business and my creative memories business. And just trying to stay sane! I'm the trip coordinator for our church for the Africa trip and I've been trying to get prepared for our first meeting. Have you ever traveled internationally? I had no idea how much stuff I have to know! Ack! What was I thinking??? But then Lucas will say something like, "Mom, when we go to Africa....." and I'll remember why I'm so excited to do this.

So....trip update....I've been thinking about it a TON...just no time to write down my thoughts and post them! Anna and I talk about it every day. We have a little Mickey countdown on my phone and so every day we'll check it and tell each other how many days til our trip. It feels like it's coming so fast now!

This weekend I'm going with my friend to Atlantic City to hear James Blunt (perhaps the sexiest man alive!) in concert. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUkLOUNxP8A

We are staying at the Borgata in Atlantic City. We are leaving at 7:30am to get there in time for lunch Saturday. I can't wait!

Anna's party went great--she had a really good time. That girl is a planner!

How wonderfully exciting!!!!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Thanks Jen! I alternate between being super excited and paralyzed with fear! I'm not exactly a "roughing it" kind of gal! Hoping my farm background will help me deal with it!
