Shhh Can you keep a secret...We are going to Disney for Christmas

I had to cancel our trip to Disney in September this year because we had to go to Cape Cod with my husbands family..His brother asked for his 2 sisters, their families and us to all go as a wedding gift for them... Not what I would want on my honeymoon 14 other people in the same house but anyways.....So as an end of summer thing DH(40), DD(9), DS(12) and myself (36) went out for dinner and ended up talking about how we did not feel as though we had a vacation (5 days-1 house-17 people=no vacation) So two days later my husband says to me he thinks we sould maybe think about Disney as a surprise for the kids for Christmas. Don't have to say that to me twice! Long story short and a bit of number crunching and 2 days later we were booked
We will be there from Dec 15 - 21st. The kids have no idea ,they do know we are going to Florida but they think it is for a Karate convention for DH. We get a couple of days in FL with a pool and no snow DH & I are not going to say a thing just go get in line for the Magical Express BUT NOW THE WAIT...they have taken bets at work how long I will last before I spill the beans to the kids..........only 71 days left and counting (a couple people already lost)....help me make it please

God Bless you! That is a huge secret to keep. You can do it, be strong!!!!!!!! Are you planning a big reveal, or just letting the kids figure it out as you pass under the Walt Disney World sign?

Oh, what AWESOME parents ya'll are! That is going be so very cool, you HAVE to keep it a secret! I'm subscribing to your PTR. If you need to talk Disney, come here and do it on the DIS!

DD and I are home today. She was up last night with a fever of 104 and her head, neck and stomach are bothering her. Right now the temp is down to 100.2.

Oh noooo! Glad that her temp is breaking, though.

I was feeling less that stellar last night and today myself. Woke up last night with terrible stomach pains, and then today as I was driving around running some errands, a terrible sinus headache hit me out of nowhere! Oh well, better to get sick now instead of at Disney!

Sorry to hear your little one isn't feeling well but glad to hear that her fever is down.

I worry myself crazy that I might get sick right before a trip, so usually I start taking airborn a week before my trip and while I am there just to boost my immune system. So far it has helped. I've never been sick for a trip yet.

No big trick. My husband teachs Martial Arts for his second job and they think we are going down to FL go to a martial arts convention for him (and my son who help with the younger classes). It was mostly his idea which is very funny since before our first trip 3 years ago he did nothing but complain that we were spending sooo much money to go to to an Amusement Park..( can you believe he called WDW an Amusement Park) for a week..By day two he turned and looked at me and said "When we come back" I was floored. Now he is hooked
And now about 8 Months after each trip he says he is having Disney withdrawl So between not having a vacation (and we need one this year) and his Love of Disney we planned the trip. This is the first time the kids have not helped us plan everything but I am excited to see thier faces when we go to get on the Magical Express instead of to the Rental car line.

Both Kids are sick again.. My kids are never sick like this...

Lets start at the begining I live right next door to my parents both my husbands and my idea. Great for the kids to have their Grandparents right next door. My Mom takes care of my kids afterschool until my husband gets home about 1 hour later. Oh also they have a multiply handicapped Foster child that has lived with them for 17 years now.

My DD woke up on Monday with a fever of 102.4.

My Mom is my babysitter but it just so happens that my Dad was going onto the hospital that day for some tests (7:30am appt).

Have to miss a day of work ...no pay. Now it's 10:30 and I have not heard from my Mom yet....I call her.
They just got my Dad in they got into a car accident on the way to the hospital and missed the appointment. Everybody is OK but the car is 82% damaged . DD temp stays managable all day. Mom calls Dad had 3 stints put in his heart. Not bad could have been bypass again. He won't be coming home until tomorrow. I have to be at my Moms to get my sister off the van from Sarah.

Tuesday - My DD temp spike to 104 overnight ..not a lot of sleep happened at my house. Mom has to pick Dad up at the hospital another day off from work! Daughter stays good all day only 101 yeah! Get sister off bus. YEAH Dad is home he looks tired but otherwise good. Get a call from my DH's brother their uncle passed away (He had gone into a diabetic coma so we knew it was coming).

Wednesday - DS wakes up feels horrible he stays home with DD. Call kid's in to school, the receptionist at my DD's school tells me one of the teachers had 14 kids out the day before and then sent another 4 home sick ending her day with 4 kids. DS is 12 and Mom is next door I go to work. Call home every hour for temp updates everybody is okay only 99.9. Feeling horrible I call the doctor at lunch get an appointment for 3:45 yeah! Have to leave work early. I have a Sinus infection and an ear infection...OKay I can deal. Oh yeah almost forgot my check engine light goes on on the way into work....Go to get the scripts for the pharmacy and hit a huge pot hole alignment is now quite off. Car will have to go in this weekend to check for other damage and get check engine light looked at.

Thursday - DSs temp went up to 101 (with tylenol) overnight...he never has a temp...Up from 1 to 3 last night. Call both schools kids will be out for the rest of the week please get work together. No problem at my DD's teacher says she only has 10 out of the 22 kids in this week. DH has the funeral will be gone from 10:30 to 1:30 (funeral is and hour away). Call the doctor for my DS appt for 2:15 . I think he has a sinus infection also.?! DH calls doctor say could be flu also? More perscriptions and the inhaler every 4 hours just to be safe if it is the flu.

Finally tomorrow is Friday and this week will be over

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear everybody has been so ill. It's not H1N1, is it? It seems so many families are being hit by it right now... it's the one thing scaring me about my upcomign WDW trip.
