No, I lucked out there.....she wont fly!

We DID take one 'family' (FIL, MIL, BrIL and his wife and us) vaction to OBX and DH and I were miserable. They just wanted to sit on the beach then go shopping. I can go shopping at home, DH and I finally went off and did our own activities and we ending up having a better time without them......

The last time we went to Disney, we invited them. We sorta had too b/c we invited my parents (who went and had a great time). They said it was too much money and MIL won't fly...so they wanted to drive...its a 20 hour drive from were we live....its a 2 hour flight....we told them that we would fly and we could meet them there. No they didn't want too. Hey, fine by me!

but get this.....the amount of $$$ for their part of the Disney trip...if they went... was the same amount as my FIL spent on a hunting trip to Alabama last year....

We wont vacation with them anymore....and DH was the one to say this...not me!

If something ever went right, i would not know what to do.

There is drama at DH's work and his DM is not letting him have the week we want to go to Disney off...the DM has had my DH vacation request for over a week and has just "sat" on it. I was starting to get frantic b/c the airline tix prices started to go up, and up.....out of our budget! When I told DH that, he called his DM and then the "bs" started to flow. At work, the fourth qtr is blocked for any vacations. So we have to plan around "Open Enrollment for Benefits" at my work...I'm in HR...and we have to work around inventory and a blacked-out fourth qtr at his work.....which does not leave a whole lot of time.

So everyone keep your fingers crossed, please!!

On the bright side.....we found that if we fly out of BWI instead of Dulles, we can catch a great price for airline tix....and the first flight out is at 6:15 am....we would be in orlando by 8:30 am.....how awesome is that?!

DH and I were talking that we would leave from my grammy's house, near Hagerstown, MD and park in the long-term lot. She only lives about 1 1/2 hours from the airport. We would have to leave by 2:30 am get to BWI by 4:00 am. I am okay with this b/c I will be sooo excited that I won't sleep anyway.

I also went to see my Dr. the other day to make sure I had my meds filled so I did not have to worry about that next month....I have a really bad anxiety problem when I fly....I don't get airsick....I get sick from the anxiety.
So I had her give me my "happy" pills for the flight....(its just the generic Xanax) but I took it last time I flew....and I had NOOOOOO problems....in fact, I wanted to sleep

Also, I went to Old Navy this weekend and I found some great deals....y'all should check it out. I got 2 pairs of walking shorts for $3 each and a pair of 'clam digger' pants for $11. I walked out with a huge bag of goodies from Old Navy for $50! SCORE!!

We do not travel well on long distance trips....six hours to gramma's house is the max....I have no desire to do a 20 hr trip....

Airline Tickets have been ordered and paid for!!

My DH's manager FINALLY approved his vacation!! I can finally start to be excited!

We changed the airport that we are flying out of and got an awesome rate on our tickets. There is a brighter note too!! We have the very first flight out that morning...6:05 am....which means that we are landing in Orlando around 8 am. We will then hop on Magical Express and check-in at the Pop. I doubt that our room will be ready that early so we are heading straight over to Magic Kingdom!!

Everything is starting to look up!

DH told me that his manager "begrudgingly" approved. What kinda cr@p is that? But I will not dwell on that....I have some pixie dust in my pocket and I am ready to fly!

I hope that y'all had a nice Valentines Day. DD5 had a virus and ran a pretty high fever all weekend but she is fine now....in fact on friday, just in her classroom alone, they sent 6 kids home with this virus.
But I surprized DH with the very gift that he has been asking for...and the great part was that he didn't even know that I ordered it and had it delivered to the house. He is a big Pitts Peguins fan, and he has wanted a new jersey, so I order one for him. He was tickled pink ....Of course, I ordered my Vera Bradley bag a couple weeks ago and we agreed that it was to be my gift....which got him off the hook for actually having to go out and buy me something.
But he left the card for me at work but he made up for it by bringing me home some chocolates last night! Of course the knucklehead left the price tag on the box...... I'll train him yet!

WOW! Such an early flight out!! I did that once but it was just too early for us.
