Morning All,

At work for part of the day ...DH home with Sam .... raining fairly steadily, winds not so bad right now. The more I look at the weather map, the more nervous I get, this is a storm like we've never experienced .... it's veering right into NJ and Phila ... we are about 35-40 miles North and northwest of the city ...

Pas ... so thankful you are all are together and you do not have to work! Thanks for your text this AM, so I know you are safe

Sheila and DetsTigGal ... I saw on the news this AM that parts of CT are being evacuated ...does this impact either of you? Be safe!!

Kook ... at least you had your priorities in order with your crispy creme run!! :rotfl2: Gotta have carbs for the long haul!! Stay warm and safe.

MM ...Be safe driving home!! and prayers for your DH if/when he gets called in for the National Guard.

All my friends, hope and pray we all get thru this safetly!! will check in as long as we have power ... :)

Just wanted to stop by and tell all my dear friends here to stay safe. Winds picking up misty rain last time I was out with Bella around 8 am. Watching the trees and waiting for the power to go out, a lot of people in Ct already lost power :scared1:

I just had fried chicken for breakfast lol figured I might as well cook it before the power goes out, I been cooking stuff from the freezer for days better than throwing it out like last year.

Please be Safe

 to my Friends! I am here....just been so very busy with this full time work schedule and trying to keep up at home....I didn't even get my Costco run in today! Might head there after work tomorrow. I am thinking of all of you, Dani and PAS, Janet , candace, and Melissa and Sarah and anyone else in the direct path of this storm! I hope you all stay safe and get through this unscathed. My inlaws live in BC and they just had a 7.7 earthquake the other day with Tsunami warnings. Thankfully they live far enough inland that they where fine, and no Tsunami.....natural disasters can be very scary though! So please stay safe my friends.Janet, my BFF is posted in Lewisberry PA right now and she said the hurricane is headed their way too.... I am thinking of you all and keeping you close, praying this is over fast with minimal to no damage!

Marie ... hope your BBF remains safe ... Lewisbury is to the West of us ... thankful your in-laws are okay ...

Janet- yes, we have lived here since '95, but I will always be a Michigan gal- pay the big bucks for satellite to watch our sports teams!

We are in western CT on the New York state line, we are supposed to get big wind. That means its a waiting game to see if the power stays on or not- all our lines are buried so it is usually something big that knocks us out. Here is hoping for the best :). I'm at Dunkin Donuts now for my daily iced tea and newspaper!

I am thinking today of all the RCers who are dealing with Sandy, stay safe, sending you hugs.

Good morning from soggy and windy NJ. We are still in pretty good shape, gusty winds and heavy rain, no trees down yet and still have (knock on wood) power.

My doctors appointments were all cancelled. Talked to my doctor last night, we have a plan in place, just take the meds I have and hopefully we can get me there on Wednesday to get the other drug. The main thing is I have my anti nausea drugs :goodvibes

My DD lives in Midtown NYC. She is at work today, but she says it's eerie there, streets are fairly deserted. She lives on the 15 th floor of a 50 story building, so she is low enough she won't really feel the building sway

sjs, good choice on fried chicken for breakfast! Don't want to throw out food!

KOOK, glad you have your priorities in order, Krispy Kremes . :dance3:

pas, glad you are home with your family. That's where you should be :grouphug:

Janet, safe dive home. Hopefully you won't be at work much longer .

Dani, have fun with Danimal today :)

Everyone in Sandy's path stay safe and keep checking I so we know everyone is okay.:grouphug:

:wave2: to our non-Sandy friends!

Thinking of all of you out east. :grouphug: I'm hoping all of you and your friends and family come through Sandy unscathed. Y'all got your bathtubs filled with water for toilet flushing?

I've got to remind my parents to charge their cellphones ... and better yet, make sure they're on -- and with the ringer ON! (Because if I don't remind them of all three things, they'll not remember that people will want to know how they're doing. :sad2: Silly parents not listening to their kids. :rolleyes1 ) My parents are scarily nonchalant about these things; I do all the worrying for them, I guess. They didn't even know that they had all those coastal evacuations which were ~20 miles from where they live. Eesh.

Disneystore.com has free shipping, today only. Code is FREESHIP. Retail therapy is a good way to pass the time, right? :surfweb: :rolleyes1

Checking in from Long Island, NY, very creepy out there ! Knock on wood...we still have power..just a matter of time though :/ everyone stay safe!

I am home from work!! :goodvibes. It was pretty dead there anyways.

For now, we are all hanging out watching movies, while the wind and rain slowly picks up.

High likelihood that DH will be called in, since he's gotten a call every hour today, so he'll be out and about helping others while I "hold down the fort here" :goodvibes

But for now, we shall enjoy quiet movie time. :)

It does feel eerie. We went to the diner this morning when it wasn't that bad but since about noon it's gotten really rough. The transit system was right shutting down.

Stay safe everyone!

Wind and rain is picking up and we have had some power surges, so feel it is just a matter of time until we lose power ....

DetTigsGal: Glad you got your Dunkin' Donuts run in. :) OT ... sorry about the Tigers .. I was pulling for them!

Sheila .... I stopped at WaWa for my Diet Coke and a donut :) Your fried chicken sounded better!! :goodvibes be safe ...

MuffyCat: You must be lucky like a bunch of us and live in the NE .... My SIL and MIL are in Brooklyn.

Stay safe all

Hi GG! :wave2:

MM ... hope the movies are still showing ... :goodvibes and DH is still at home with you all.

Melissa ... hope you are feeling better every day. :flower3:

Well, we lost power. We have 2 large propane tanks which will run the generator about 4 days (we already used up a day of power). We have the kitchen, den, sump pump, and the well pump on the generator. No heat, but that's okay. We will be fine until the generator runs out (they won't fill your tanks until they are empty), so we will see how it goes.

Hope everyone else is safe and dry!

Hope everyone else is safe and dry!

Sorry Sarah, but it seems like your back up plan is working nicely.:thumbsup2 We do not have a generator so are hoping that we will not lose power, but it is probably unrealistic. Happy though you are well situated my friend.

That's good you were prepared. stay safe!

Janet, yes, I'm on Long Island but grew up in Queens.

It's getting rougher as the day goes on. Not looking forward to tonight.

You're amazing and we're so glad you're back safe and sound with your family. I hope you don't lose power or have any flooding:grouphug:

A HUGE thanks to your DH!!! I know he will be out tonight, and the next few days! I pray he finds his way back home quickly and safely to his girls :flower3:

Fingers crossed you get a break. DH jus pointed out we only have 4 days of propane, we lost power for a day a couple of times during the summer. Our problem is we have a well and if we lose power we lose water...

You too pas, here's hoping you don't loose power! :grouphug:
