Oh boy... let's try a multiquote on this beast, lol. Today I was off and we went to Typhoon Lagoon for some sun. Afterwards, per Kook's advice... we went to Trails End for dinner. We were one of 7 tables there, and it was delish!! We had a good time, and it was really good!! Unfortunately, once home, and I had a nap... all that goodness woke me up... and I'm Luckily, I have some phenegran on hand to help. I hate to place blame anywhere--but it was the only meal I had today

Hi Deena I keep seeing all your quick getaways to just eat or walk around a park....how fun!!!! I'm so sorry the job is not as wonderful as the new living area! I hope it gets better ASAP and your computer woes get fixed lickety split! We miss you. Speaking of Captains Grille, do you like it there?? I couldn't find something quickly when I tried making a new ADR based around plans for a RCer meet and greet with Gwynne and Lacey in the Epcot resort area--I had to make new dinner reservations closer to Beaches and Cream for ease of schedule......I ended up moving our KONA dinner to dinner at Captains Grille.....I've never been there and hope I enjoy it!
Speaking of meet and Greet.....we'd love to meet you if you and DH are free October 3 (Wed) at 8:30 pm. Gwynne, Lacey (basketlacey) and I are saying at beaches and cream.....getting a sweet treat, then we are trying to catch illuminations along the boardwalk after if you're free, come along and meet some of your fellow sisters

I'm glad we get to keep in touch on FB since I can't get on here much!! I miss the thread sooooooo much though!! Captain's Grille is yummy--I love the bread there!! I should get my October schedule this week, so I will check to see what that Wednesday looks like!!

Sorry you aren't happy with your job....hopefully something better will come around. I lived up there for a year and worked in downtown Orlando and wanted to shoot myself with the I4 traffic on a daily basis, so remember to think about the commute when you are looking. But I have to say I loved being able to go into the parks when ever I wanted

Hi Well, it's just unfortunate and much different... even though it's the same company--just different states/stores.
(just had to restart because this POS quit typing) I'm only on I4 from exit 68 to exit 72.... so it's not bad. I do like to be able to pop in the parks all the time, and not feel like I only have 5-7 days in the area to cover everything. I would love to find something closer to LBV, Celebration, or a good area in Kissimmee. Poor DH drives 45 minutes from here to Lee Vista I feel pretty bad for him--but we really like our place.

Hi everyone Been busy having a wonderful time, but as I enjoy dessert in the lounge I thought I would post!

Babyberger, I think we were at Beaches and Creme at the same time. My DD and I got there around 2 in the afternoon that Monday and had sandwiches at the counter. SOOO sorry we didn't meet!

Ugh sounds like you need a reset today!!!!! My kids ( well 2 out of 3) are off today as well....I throughly enjoyed not setting my alarm today and still being in my pj's

The chat box popped up, I typed in the problem, here's the response:

Jen & Jeanette: Some hugs are in order... Toughest job with no pay, EVER! Getting paid in snuggles, smooches and laughter is worth it though.

Smooches is the best payment ever...but I'm 2 for 2 with my boys for nastiness starting at age 11

Eep, forgot to answer this. We shared a burger (us and our sharing meals ) Thought it was just okay... we definitely prefer noshing at either Cosmic Ray's and CHH. It was more the service that really got me (though I didn't yell or anything). It's their silly system they seem to use where the person running around in the back gathers items to put them on trays? Twice this past trip at two different locations, they'd messed up by sitting our ticket down half-way through preparing the tray and forgetting about it to the point where I had to say something to them. The woman at Pecos Bill had our burger on the tray just sitting there, went off to make the drinks, then sat the drinks down on the back counter and wandered off. Seems very inefficient and ripe for screw-ups the way they handle orders.

When we were there for lunch, it was early and busy, but not crazy...there were SO many people standing there waiting for food to be ready...trays of drinks sitting there...yes I agree with inefficient. On side moved MUCH faster than the other....our side was of course the slow side

I felt really guilty about taking them out of school this time. In kindergarden and grade 1 not so much of a big deal to me, but now DD8 is in grade 3, and I felt bad this time. Don't want that dark cloud hanging over me....

Our trips are strting to look like Summer only these days too

Popping in between loads of laundry and last minute hustle and bustle.....off to my pedicure this afternoon, Shepherds pie made and ready to delay bake for dinner......I'll get the boys moving on finishing up their packing tonight! I can't believe my time has come! After over a YEAR of planning and dreaming, it's here! I. Excited but sad too, because I don't want it to end BUT....no time for sad thoughts here, I've got to go and have a magical time with my boys.....put memories in my heart to keep me going until I can get back again.....with my love for Disney I KNOW there will always be a next time, so I have that to soothe my soul Disney will always be there
I am hoping for good weather.....particularly SEPT 30 (Sunday MNSSHP)....SEPT 29 (SATURDAY morning parasailing! ) and MONDAY OCT 1-- my BFFs surprise day at Discovery Cove!!!!! These are the only days I don't want to see Disney rain!!!! I can get through rain if need be, but these are special plans that require sunny skies! Deena, any up to date Orlando weather info you can give me???

Sure wish I could get those cute Disney themed pedis you all seem to be able to get in the USA, unfortunately....I have no one skilled to do them here in Alberta! Heya Ladies!

Back from my torture session. Just gotta refill the coffee and I'll be good to go... I'm going to put together a little album of a few pics (from when it wasn't raining!) on Facebook this afternoon maybe. Gotta sort through them and pick out some decent ones -- ones that I took and not the out-of-focus assortment the hubs took. He can either miraculously always find my fattest side or make sure not a single bit of the photo is in focus. That man, he's got pure talent. (I love him, really I do. )

Speaking of, I gave him a hug last night for no reason and he said, "What have you been doing? ... You're acting all sweet and suspicious." So I lied and said I was booking our next Disney trip; he believed me, of course.

What I would give for 46 degree weather!!! Hope you got some edibles in the house now

Funnily enough, we had some inedible edibles in the house. Just discovered we had two jars of the tainted Salmonella peanut butter in the pantry so I made a trip to Trader Joe's to get some less-risky edibles.

I know as they get older it gets harder. We have some trips planned and I sat and listened to DS's teacher the other night saying every single day of 4th grade has so much information and begged us to make sure they were in school unless they were really sick....uh oh!!!!

Eep. I felt a bit bad about taking Miss M out for 4 days. I really think we need to consider going in the summer ... not that I want to. I like the light crowds in September.

MM and everyone who posted about mommy guilt - my kids are spoiled in comparison to some and probably not spoiled compared to others. I guess I figure there are always kids who have less and kids who have more. My goal is for them to appreciate what we have and be thankful for our blessings. At the end of the day, I hope they can not have spoiled attitudes. Does that make sense at all? It's a work in process for sure.

Regarding taking kids out of school - this is our fifth time to pull them out. Last year it was a whole week and I swore I wouldn't do that again because it was too much. I prefer to go in November but they have 4 days off in October. So we are going now and they will only miss 2 days of school. I am pretty much at peace with it. I don't think it makes me parent of the year or anything but I also don't think I am doing lasting damage.

In the grand scheme of things, I am thrilled to be making these memories with my family. I just came from a chemo treatment with one of my best friends. She is a rockstar and will totally kick this cancer. BUT, they were supposed to be leaving with us to WDW on Sunday! Instead she is spending this whole year fighting breast cancer. It sucks and is just proof that you never know. Again, I know she is going to be ok. And she is planning two trips for next year - one with the kids and then our adult only trip to F&W.

So how are our peeps that are there now? Sarah?

Pas - lovin the girl trip! And then just you and your guy!

Luv - sorry you don't love the job! You need to do makeup for Disney! Do they have makeup artists for the cast members?

I don't think so. At least it wasn't last year. It's the only reason we get a table. I guess it's good thing it's not at the takeout window because if they had those to-go, I'd come back 25lbs. heavier each year.
