Hello ladies! :goodvibes

I'm headed off to Target as we've got zero edible foodstuffs in the house. :lmao: Although I've got chili in the crockpot... chili?! Can you believe that? We went from 91F (33C) to 46F (8C) just two evenings ago! And here I am going to have chili this evening... :crazy2:

Candace: Well, you've got my support. I get the same sort of responses like, "Oh, you're going to Disney again?" But I just blow it off. I naturally -- without the comments from others -- have those same hesitations about spoiling and such. Even with all those thoughts, we do it anyway... they're only young once, right? I'm of the mindset that if one's kids are good, and it's within the budget to do, then why not? You're preachin' to the proverbial choir with us! :lmao:

Deena: Sorry about the job and the computer issues. Hope you're able to find something you'll be happier with. Oh Boatwrights, how was it?! Would you go back? We walked by and thought the menu sounded nice.

Marie: One day dance! :dance3::dance3:party: Alooooooha!

Oh, I wanted to tell you, Marie -- I thought I noticed a plan of yours to eat at CHH on the party night, was that right? Just wanted to say, not sure what time you'd planned on eating, but that I believe they closed "early" the night we were at the party -- at park closing which is 7pm. We walked over there to get something to eat on party night and were told they had just closed (must've been right at 7pm) so we wound up eating at Pecos Bills. :crazy2: Won't be making that mistake again! :lmao: Wish we had either gone to CHH earlier or just gone straight to Cosmic Ray's. Although, for whatever reason, Cosmic Ray's (which we went to later that evening) wasn't serving their roasted chicken -- which they definitely did last year. Boo.

Basketlacey and Marie, You'll be hearing "Welcome Home" soon!:cool1: :beach:

Missout, Loved your trip review!! I am so glad you have a lovely meal at Bluezoo! :goodvibes

I am really trying to catch up today. Too many to-do lists, but I am working through them.

I can't wait for our trip, 8 days!!! :dance3: :dance3:

WOW so close ! :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Part 2:

Pas: Soooo I see a trip to see pretty lights in your future?? And a new puppy??

Step: Sorry you're not feeling well--but those pictures are great! DH and I decided that IF I would book a night or 2... it would be YC/CL. I miss it. We were at the Captain's Grille last week and after went to the gift shop. The guy that works there (and has for a longggg time), saw us and asked us if we wanted to see the Pin Board. I think that's when you know it's bad :rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

Well this laptop just ate half my post. I never considered myself to be electronic stupid, but this piece of  that he bought may be good for gaming, but not typing, lol. I love all of you very much, and think of you everyday. (I just typed this 3 times) I hope to be back in action with a working machine soon!!

Hi Deena :) I keep seeing all your quick getaways to just eat or walk around a park....how fun!!!! I'm so sorry the job is not as wonderful as the new living area! I hope it gets better ASAP and your computer woes get fixed lickety split! We miss you. Speaking of Captains Grille, do you like it there?? I couldn't find something quickly when I tried making a new ADR based around plans for a RCer meet and greet with Gwynne and Lacey in the Epcot resort area--I had to make new dinner reservations closer to Beaches and Cream for ease of schedule......I ended up moving our KONA dinner to dinner at Captains Grille.....I've never been there and hope I enjoy it!
Speaking of meet and Greet.....we'd love to meet you if you and DH are free October 3 (Wed) at 8:30 pm. Gwynne, Lacey (basketlacey) and I are saying :wave2: at beaches and cream.....getting a sweet treat, then we are trying to catch illuminations along the boardwalk after :) if you're free, come along and meet some of your fellow sisters

I can't believe......only 2 days to go! We leave Thursday and I am trying to talk DH into leaving for the airport after the boys haircuts!! Our plane doesn't leave until 6:10 pm.....I want to be at the airport by 4 at the latest, so we can check in then grab a burger at Harveys in the airport.....we don't land in Toronto until 11:30pm, so no time to be eating then, we will just be hitting the sack! DH's work had told him he could have Thur Sept 27 off to take us to the airport -- then, as always seems to happen -- we find out yesterday that the leave pass hadn't been actioned!!!!! :crazy2: of course, being the amazing dedicated worker he is, DH says "oh, don't worry, I'll come in and work until noon, then I can just have the afternoon off!" ME: UMMMMMM NOOOOOO!!!!! You booked and got approved for a DAY OFF!!!!!! Not a drive into work, then leave after half a day!!! But he just doesn't have it in him to fight for things , he just wants to keep the peace and go to work for half a day then come get us!!!!! I'm mad, but at least he can still take us -- I just hate that his work ethic always makes him put work ahead of all else. :crazy2:

On a good note, it looks like DS16 will be ok , his ankle was quite swollen, but he could still walk on it.....over the last couple days, the swelling has gone way down and there is just a bruise left. He isn't complaining of pain, and is walking...so it looks good!
Whew! I didn't want to be pushing any wheelchairs! :p

today I'm going for a haircut, to try and fix the mess my last trip to the cheap hairstylist caused......sometimes it pays to just stick with the best, even though the cost is higher! Back to my trusted / albeit costly stylist I go! ($65) it just means I'll have to go longer between cuts, at least she knows how to work with my hair :) the cheap stylist is good with the boys, so they'll keep going to her, I'm just very picky about who cuts my hair!

Miss: Thank you for the POLY welcome!!! I'm very excited to be checking in and experiencing that lovely oasis on FRIDAY!!!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!!!

well, I'm off to work on the laundry and try to get more packing done! I am so glad I took this week off to get ready for Disney! I'd hate to be at work today!! :wave2: have a great Tuesday!

I will say, my girls really get along wonderfully about 95% of the time, but that other 5%...you would swear that WW3 was about to erupt!!!! And it's funny, the "argument" (read WAR) will last for about 10 minutes and the next thing we know, they are playing, laughing and having a grand time again. Meanwhile, DH and I are trying to get our blood pressure down from all the screaming that just went down...:crazy2: Siblings, funny creatures.

So, I know this is directed at the wrong peeps....:p But, seriously, I am not spoiling my kids right??? Our parents (DH and my parents) think we do....I shouldn't care though, right?? I'm just trying to feel better about this.

No you are not spoiling them .... you are giving them all the love and attention that all kids should have. Nothing can replace family time. My DS age 33 still brings up fun things that we did when he was in pre school. All those warm fuzzy memories will last a lifetime. :)

:wave2: Hi Deena I've seen your posts on FB but we sure do miss you on this thread. I must admit that every time I see one of your checkins I'm a bit jealous. The job situation may not be the best but it sure sounds like the rest of your life is wonderful!!! :thumbsup2

Deana  So sorry to hear your still struggling with the new job  My laptop is still sitting collecting dust and I am still on my iPad thing with me is I think I want a new laptop maybe an apple :confused3

I read all the above posts about " spoiling kids" and have to throw in my two cents ........ Family and friends accused DH & I of spoiling our boys but we saw it as giving them what we never had. DH and I both grew up poor and had next to nothing growing up, no vacations, I never had a bike, Bob use to wear second hand shoes and clothes I spent hours sitting in the local shoe repair shop getting new soles or heels put on my shoes and I had to wait since I only had one pair of shoes. Looking back on it now We spoiled our kids, working hard to give them toys, Vacations etc. Would I do it all over again You Betcha I would as nothing is guaranteed in life and now that both our boys are gone and we have no grandchildren all that money was well spent. I say don't worry and spoil away you never know what the future holds

I didn't think I'd want an Apple computer but after using my DD's Mac Pro ... I want one!!! :rotfl2:

Sunday evening DH and I did a 6 mile walk to practice for the 10K we are doing on Friday. It all went well and no aches or pains the next day so I think we are good to go. The only problem is we did the practice walk at sea level and the 10K is at 6500+ feet above sea level .... hope we can breathe!!! :scared1:

Thank you guys for all of your support!!! We are an incredibly close family, the four of us. :crowded: DH and I have been best friends since we were 12 and our girls are our world and just little extensions of our relationship. We love how close our family is since DH grew up in a single family home (raised by his very loving father), and I grew up with both parents but my mom and dad never seemed to be "in sync" and my dad was a workaholic who rarely spent time with us. (My parents eventually did split up when I was 19, though still not divorced to this day...:confused3 )
It is very important for us to preserve this little family unit, and Disney is just a tiny way we do this.

Ok, guilt resolved. Moving forward. Sorry about the mini-psych treatment needed. :rotfl2:

Marie!!! One more day!!! I can't even believe it!!!! :yay:

Bet you'll do great!! :cheer2: (is there a time requirement?)

Boy, sure do miss those days of 6 mi+ walks....lately I've been trying to do 2 mi, 3 times a week and oh my goodness....6 years of no walking or exercise sure does take a toll.

We'll be cheering for you two on Friday! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks for the "welcome backs"! Missed you all.
Missed you too

OOOOOHHH Pecos Bill's wasn't good?? We LOVED it last month, sorry ... What did you get...I may avoid it...hope you got some much needed rest last night!

Awe shucks I thought maybe our paths would cross :(
I tried every possible scenario last night (also trip stalking the other RCers...) but looks like I am keeping the dates, and it'll be the girls and I. DH is staying home with the puppy and the boys....which is something he wants to do....a resort change was in order though....

WL CL :lovestruc

Welcome back! Loved the TR !
Me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The thing is, its about family time for us, undisturbed pure family time, which we love. Yes, it's pretty extravagant to go to Disney every year I guess, but we really cherish that time.
Family time....PRICELESS!!! You and your girls sacrifice when DH is away....family time is invaluable...DO NOT feel guilty Candace, you are blessed :lovestruc

I am jealous that your oldest still travels with you, mine wants nothing to do with our family vacations :( I hope your DC days works out, just remember rainy and cloudy is still plenty hot this time of year down here.

Jeanette WOW you moved fast on that holiday trip!!! I hope it works out that DH can go with you. It really is so magical that time of year :wizard:

Melissa, my DS has been the same way with vacations since he was 17 , but might I digress...he'll be 21 on Nov. 13th, since I really don't talk with him....I will happily celebrate "Labor Day" without him ::yes::

And I won't even mention the fact that this new trip has been changed...MANY times already

But from what I understand, she saw her big sister 8 outside, cried until sister came into fenced in kindergarden area, and then REALLY cried when sister tried to leave and go play with her friends. Then had to be 'taken' inside by her teacher when the bell rang, cried again, fell asleep on the carpet for half and hour. Proceeded to cry again when woken up, and came out crying at the end of the day.

Not how I expected her first day to go.:confused3 I feel extremely guilty now for disturbing her start to school, the extreme family time of the vacation must have made her miss us all too much. Then she cried for an hour at bedtime, screaming at the top of her lungs that she didn't want me to leave.

OH boy...this led to some not so nice exchanged between DH and I.

On a different note: Pas yay for your trip planning...you are awesome!!
 Sorry Jen, it's not your fault....she misses everyone. She's little, it's her party and she can cry if she wants too....poor baby, poor sis, poor Mommy...:grouphug: I hope today is a better day!!! My DS was like that when he was in preschool...every flippin' day....now he is in 6th grade, and I found out he has a D average, because he has ALREADY missed 3 HWs in 3 classes :furious:

I am besides myself, sorry :offtopic: Mommyhood is NOT EASY :faint:

What makes it harder is when stress causes Mommy & Daddy to fight...ugh, totally BEEN THERE DONE THAT...like 5 min. ago actually

Here's some more hugs....

Pas: Soooo I see a trip to see pretty lights in your future?? And a new puppy??
DEENA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep Pas Princess trip to our 1st Xmas Party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry your new job is less than magical...keep stalking CM openings.....::yes:: Perhaps Nov 14th you can pop up to WL for some cobbler!!!

I can't wait for our trip, 8 days!!! :dance3: :dance3:

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

Marie So HAPPY DS' ankle is good to go!!!! You're almost ther :beach:

Thank you for your well wishes. I think we'll do another 10K in Dec. Plan is for a quick trip to DL for my birthday and there's a walk/run in Santa Monica right down the street from my DD's apartment so I think we'll do that one .... maybe both kids can join us!!!

Linda: Oooooh, I'll come walking with you. :goodvibes Not sure about that high altitude though... :faint: (I remember taking a few days just to be able to sit up without being dizzy out in Aspen.) Grumpy Walking Queen Grandma! Speaking of lots of walking, I took the pedometer to Epcot -- our longest walking day with 6.8 miles. The day we walked back and forth to HS was only about 5.5 miles.

Ginny: 8 days will fly by...

Jen & Jeanette: Some hugs are in order... :grouphug: Toughest job with no pay, EVER! Getting paid in snuggles, smooches and laughter is worth it though. :thumbsup2

Posted my Disney Eats verbal-diarrhea review (ashamedly light on the food porn, stupid rain and low light made my pics bleh): 6 Days of Many Adult Beverages & Too Much Food!

Missed you too

OOOOOHHH Pecos Bill's wasn't good?? We LOVED it last month, sorry ... What did you get...I may avoid it...hope you got some much needed rest last night!

Eep, forgot to answer this. We shared a burger (us and our sharing meals  ) Thought it was just okay... we definitely prefer noshing at either Cosmic Ray's and CHH. It was more the service that really got me :furious: (though I didn't yell or anything). It's their silly system they seem to use where the person running around in the back gathers items to put them on trays? Twice this past trip at two different locations, they'd messed up by sitting our ticket down half-way through preparing the tray and forgetting about it to the point where I had to say something to them. The woman at Pecos Bill had our burger on the tray just sitting there, went off to make the drinks, then sat the drinks down on the back counter and wandered off. :headache: Seems very inefficient and ripe for screw-ups the way they handle orders.

Jen - When are you booking for May?!?!? :goodvibes

Ha! Funny you should ask:)...we were pricing out vacations AGAIN for next year. We have the cruise in Dec which we will then pair with a stay at AOA, but as far as May goes, it is still up in the air. If a good discount comes out that we can't pass up, maybe. Or maybe just DH and I for SWW. :scratchin

I felt really guilty about taking them out of school this time. In kindergarden and grade 1 not so much of a big deal to me, but now DD8 is in grade 3, and I felt bad this time. Don't want that dark cloud hanging over me....:rolleyes2

I hear you on that! Our school district is not cool at all about taking kids out of school for family vacations...it's actually explicitly written in the policy. We did pull our oldest out for 2 days when she was in 1st grade, and we are pulling them 1.5 days early in April. DD5 school won't care...I actually took DD8 out of there for two weeks when she was in Kindergatren there, and she didn't skip a beat....but I know I'm going to get flack for taking DD8 out for the day and a half....but, oh well. Leaving a few days before the actual vacation week works better for us financially so that's what we are doing....unless of course the school wants to pay the $750 difference in airfare to fly out on Saturday :rolleyes1

Yeah, I didn't think they did. :upsidedow

Sorry she had such a rough day :( but don't beat yourself up, could have happened even if you didn't disrupt the start of school, sometimes it is just pure separation anxiety.

We're not unpacked, lol. We've been at the parks on our days off. Our schedules are rough, and I'm not very happy with my job. When I have a computer up and running, I will start searching for a better option--but for now, I can't beat my current wage.

Sorry you aren't happy with your job....hopefully something better will come around. I lived up there for a year and worked in downtown Orlando and wanted to shoot myself with the I4 traffic on a daily basis, so remember to think about the commute when you are looking. But I have to say I loved being able to go into the parks when ever I wanted :)

Whenever we are all together as a family my brother and I laugh and laugh about all of our memories as children. We are fortunate to still be making memories with my parents with the hopes that our kids will have all those fun memories of the whole family together.

I know as they get older it gets harder. We have some trips planned and I sat and listened to DS's teacher the other night saying every single day of 4th grade has so much information and begged us to make sure they were in school unless they were really sick....uh oh!!!!

Hi everyone :wave2:Been busy having a wonderful time, but as I enjoy dessert in the lounge I thought I would post!

Jenny, it was so great to meet you and your wonderful family. It was such a treat to get to know all of you. AND, I have to say you have the sweetest girls:grouphug: I am so sorry to hear my new little friend had a rough start to kindergarten, I hope she had a better day today.

miss, how fun to meet you and your wonderful family also! I fell for Miss M, she is such a sweetheart. I am so sorry we didn't run into you again. However, we will all be here in January...time for another meet! Thank you so much for my orange bird pin. It is on my bag and travels everywhere through WDW with me! I hope you all had fun at the MNSSHP, rain and all :(

Pas, yay for booking another trip! In typical RC style you have my head spinning, I am not sure who is currently going, when and where you are staying! Girls only, WL CL in mid November? Do I have it right?

Chimno2u, you are on your way soon!:cool1: The weather has been sunny and warm, no rain for the past few days. Fingers crossed it continues! AND if you get rain, don't stress, it goes away and you are in WDW!

Grumpy Grandma, good luck with your walk, I am impressed! You will be in great shape for your upcoming WDW trip!

Babyberger, I think we were at Beaches and Creme at the same time. My DD and I got there around 2 in the afternoon that Monday and had sandwiches at the counter. SOOO sorry we didn't meet!

I know I am missing a lot but we are off for a stroll around the Boardwalk in a bit. More later..

Meanwhile, a picture of the sunset around the IG last night at sunset.

Hi Sarah!:wave2: So glad you are still enjoying yourself! Thanks for the picture, we miss it already. Thanks for the kind words about the DD's, they liked you a lot. :goodvibes I am hoping for a better day at school for DD3 tomorrow, but we will take it as it comes. I have to keep reminding myself she is only 3 still for another month!!

Keep having lots of fun...and I wish we had a video of our "Sarah???" "Jen?" moment in the lounge!:rotfl:
