It's such a gorgeous resort, really. :goodvibes

Ginny: I owe you so many thanks for telling us about the Magical Dining promo. Bluezoo was the best meal we have had at Disney, hands down. :worship: Probably one of the best we've had anywhere, to be honest.

So far`Nov 13-16th.....our resort and dates may change..DH was off that week but now management may change his weekend rotation, which may affect it.

Awww...thank you for that! :lovestruc

I am really so excited about trying the YC and the Poly on our next trip. I was actually having some issues the other day though, thinking that perhaps we are really spoiling our girls by taking them so often. This will be their 4th trip and they are 8 and (almost) 6. :crazy2:

The thing is, its about family time for us, undisturbed pure family time, which we love. Yes, it's pretty extravagant to go to Disney every year I guess, but we really cherish that time. They don't have huge Christmases or get toys all the time (because they know that we spend/save for Disney). Yes, they have some stuff that some might think is extravagant like Ipod touches, DS's, etc...but they don't get stuff everyday. I don't know I was just feeling guilty about how much they do have, though I shouldn't...I just want them to appreciate things though, which I feel they do most of the time, but....yeah, I'm rambling...sorry about that.

Good morning!!! I have tried to respond so many times in the past couple of days and always end up doing something else. So I brought my laptop in carline yesterday and figured I could start typing out my post and then actually post it when I get home latter after running around with the kids... But as life happens, I never got around to posting this.

Jen Glad it isn’t only my kids that fight, ugh! They wouldn’t even sleep in a bed together at YC and of course neither of them wanted the daybed. I love your analogy of Disney trips like giving birth, soooo very true ::yes::

Candace I just got a new planning DVD and it is still 2012, so I would wait a bit more before you order another one. And DO NOT change your reservations :duck: I really think you will like the YC! The kids want to rent a boat and a bike to ride around the area when we go back, there is just so much to do there!

Step I hope you are feeling better today :goodvibes The suite looks wonderful! We truly loved our first stay at YC this month.

Basketlacey We are going back Oct 27-29, so just over a month out :yay: We love having our AP’s, didn’t have them last year and really missed having them. Can you move next years trip a week earlier to make it work :confused3

Jsantini I hope everything works out for this trip! I agree, wait to find out what DH gets offered (if anything) and go from there. I have to tell you that I was telling my DH about your situation, he before I could even finish he said, she has to go and do everything just like she planned! My fingers are crossed for you and my prayers are with you and your mom :grouphug:

Marie I am jealous that your oldest still travels with you, mine wants nothing to do with our family vacations :( I hope your DC days works out, just remember rainy and cloudy is still plenty hot this time of year down here.

Jeanette WOW you moved fast on that holiday trip!!! I hope it works out that DH can go with you. It really is so magical that time of year :wizard:

Miss Thanks for the TR! Sounds like a great trip :) Glad you had such a good time, with the exception of getting in so late of course. Now unfortunately you are back at reality and that stinks ;)

Hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday :goodvibes

Sorry I haven't popped in since....oh who knows when. DD3 had not such a great start to kindergarden yesterday, I know our fault for taking them out right away for a trip. :worried:

But from what I understand, she saw her big sister 8 outside, cried until sister came into fenced in kindergarden area, and then REALLY cried when sister tried to leave and go play with her friends. Then had to be 'taken' inside by her teacher when the bell rang, cried again, fell asleep on the carpet for half and hour. Proceeded to cry again when woken up, and came out crying at the end of the day. :faint:

Not how I expected her first day to go.:confused3 I feel extremely guilty now for disturbing her start to school, the extreme family time of the vacation must have made her miss us all too much. Then she cried for an hour at bedtime, screaming at the top of her lungs that she didn't want me to leave.

OH boy...this led to some not so nice exchanged between DH and I. :hyper2:

On a different note: Pas yay for your trip planning...you are awesome!!

Melissa: I understand about the fighting...UGH nothing I hate more.

Candace: How is all your planning coming along?

Marie and Basketlacey: you all must be getting so excited!! Sorry about your DS injury Marie.

To all I missed: a big RC hello, and happy Tuesday!!

I will say, my girls really get along wonderfully about 95% of the time, but that other 5%...you would swear that WW3 was about to erupt!!!! And it's funny, the "argument" (read WAR) will last for about 10 minutes and the next thing we know, they are playing, laughing and having a grand time again. Meanwhile, DH and I are trying to get our blood pressure down from all the screaming that just went down...:crazy2: Siblings, funny creatures.

So, I know this is directed at the wrong peeps....:p But, seriously, I am not spoiling my kids right??? Our parents (DH and my parents) think we do....I shouldn't care though, right?? I'm just trying to feel better about this.

I know that worry...DH have talked about it too. A girl from my work was also warning me that our trips to WDW will 'spoil them'. I don't buy into it, we also don't buy toys, give in to demands, or allow whining to dictate things. I think spoiling is about a lot more than just going to WDW. It is family time, you can't spoil your kids with that. So feel better, you love your DD's and love spending family time at Disney, and you work hard to get there. FWIW That is okay in my book. :thumbsup2

 Thanks Jen!

I know I really shouldn't care what others think, but I do worry about making my kids into brats. Honestly, we don't tolerate bad behavior, whining, etc... And we kind of subscribe to a "work hard, play hard" philosophy in life. DH and I both have demanding full time jobs. I do alot of volunteer stuff with the kids schools. The kids excel in their academics and do alot of extracurricular activities. For instance, after work/school tonight, the family has to split up so I can take DD5 to gymnastics, and DH will take DD8 to an audition for a local play that she wants to be in.

Vacation is the time to just slow.it.down....:goodvibes

Plus, after DD8 is done with 5th grade, we will likely be moving her to private school, so we have a little over 2 years w/out that expense before we may have to lessen the frequency of our trips. Better enjoy it now! ::yes::

I know it sounds like I am trying to justify it, ok, I guess I am.

Candace - I don't think you are spoiling them. My parents worked very hard to provide a "cushy" life for my brother and I. My brother and I both have a strong work ethic and appreciate all my parents did for us. We only want to be able to do the same for our families.

I understand you fear as DS said to me right before we left for Disney "you know what would make our trip better, staying in a suite". But they all know know hard daddy works to make it all possible and if they want the same things or better they have to work hard.

Thanks Melissa! My parents worked very hard as well, and my sister and I went without nothing. We traveled to WDW twice when I was younger both for 2 weeks at a time, but we also did alot of traveling to other places too. I definitely strive to do at least the same for my kids, and I feel blessed that we are able to give them "the World". I don't want them to take it for granted though, and expect these types of things. I am always asking them..."you know how lucky you are, right?"

Hello my lovely RC'ers!!! I am actually on a laptop so I can explain my absence :surfweb: Since we got here, my laptop refuses to connect to the internet. Meanwhile, DHs laptop went to the blue screen of death. We ended up having to get him a new one. Mine still won't work--even plugged in. DH keeps saying he's going to fix it, but I think it's beyond fixing. I'm not a fan of his new laptop, so I don't really get on it--but I miss everyone sooooo much!!!

We're not unpacked, lol. We've been at the parks on our days off. Our schedules are rough, and I'm not very happy with my job. When I have a computer up and running, I will start searching for a better option--but for now, I can't beat my current wage.

I try to skim while I'm on my lunch, but this thread, as always, moves quickly!! I see a lot of RCers getting ready to hit the world, some there now, and some just back!!! I like it!! I've had a severe itch to book a night here or there, but have a hard time justifying when we live right around the corner (literally). DH said it's turned me into a worse ADR changer. We visited the GF yesterday to go to Basin White, and were able to see the new splash area open. It's still a little too tore up for me to want to stay there right now. We also were at DHS for a bit, and I noticed they started putting the lights up---ahhhhhh my happy place!!!

MissPackingCubes: I read your review and I'm glad you had a great time!! I'm glad you liked POR--we did too!! We went over there 2 weeks ago to eat at Boatwright's, and we walked around a bit! It's just a comfy little place, and I'm glad we stayed there :)

----To Be Cont.... I don't like this laptop--keys are in the wrong places and it posted prematurely, lol. I've also lost this post 3 times, so I'm going to post what I have, lol.

Part 2:

Pas: Soooo I see a trip to see pretty lights in your future?? And a new puppy??

Step: Sorry you're not feeling well--but those pictures are great! DH and I decided that IF I would book a night or 2... it would be YC/CL. I miss it. We were at the Captain's Grille last week and after went to the gift shop. The guy that works there (and has for a longggg time), saw us and asked us if we wanted to see the Pin Board. I think that's when you know it's bad :rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

Well this laptop just ate half my post. I never considered myself to be electronic stupid, but this piece of  that he bought may be good for gaming, but not typing, lol. I love all of you very much, and think of you everyday. (I just typed this 3 times) I hope to be back in action with a working machine soon!!

Deana  So sorry to hear your still struggling with the new job  My laptop is still sitting collecting dust and I am still on my iPad thing with me is I think I want a new laptop maybe an apple :confused3

I read all the above posts about " spoiling kids" and have to throw in my two cents ........ Family and friends accused DH & I of spoiling our boys but we saw it as giving them what we never had. DH and I both grew up poor and had next to nothing growing up, no vacations, I never had a bike, Bob use to wear second hand shoes and clothes I spent hours sitting in the local shoe repair shop getting new soles or heels put on my shoes and I had to wait since I only had one pair of shoes. Looking back on it now We spoiled our kids, working hard to give them toys, Vacations etc. Would I do it all over again You Betcha I would as nothing is guaranteed in life and now that both our boys are gone and we have no grandchildren all that money was well spent. I say don't worry and spoil away you never know what the future holds

That is just a whole other, and completely valid, point of view. I do believe that you should cherish every moment in life. You can absolutely say "I'm going to do it someday", but what if you don't have "someday". I know that's a horrible thought, but it's real. :worried:

I absolutely believe in living life to the fullest and getting what you can out of it, while you still can.

Basketlacey and Marie, You'll be hearing "Welcome Home" soon!:cool1: :beach:

Missout, Loved your trip review!! I am so glad you have a lovely meal at Bluezoo! :goodvibes

I am really trying to catch up today. Too many to-do lists, but I am working through them.

I can't wait for our trip, 8 days!!! :dance3: :dance3:

It is just terrible that there are people who make parents feel guilty my mother and my Fil were great for doing that so Bob and I were always justifying ourselves to them.
