She's Your Daughter!!!! A Girls Trip -- Last Day & Departure Day -- Pages 76 & 77

I wanted to share with all my wonderful DIS friends some great news.

I went for my five-year anniversary mammogram this morning and I am clean as a whistle!

Mark is taking me out to dinner to celebrate (but probably tomorrow night since I was up at 4:30 for my 7:45 appointment).

That is wonderful news to hear. Cancer is a horrible disease and one I can relate to first hand watching my mother battle this illness this past year. I'm glad to see you have won the battle. :thumbsup2

You just can't beat EOS can you? Jasmine is insisting on a visit there next trip because we didn't make it on our last one!

The pics of the girls in the hats sure are cute! The one Cayley is wearing is adorable, it looks so good on her!

Ok...Mary....what is that dessert?? It looks delish!

OK...I saw this on FB and I liked it there, but its so much more fun to like it here...

:banana::banana::banana::woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay:

So thrilled for you!

I got so behind again, but thank goodness you didn't post too many updates. The girls are just too cute.
I love the hat fashion show. I bet they made Mark proud.
I love EOS too. One of my favorite QS in all of WDW.

Looks like dinner and shopping was fun! I had NO IDEA they had coffee at Goofy's?!?! I was just there...maybe I was just too busy taking pictures of candy to notice!

Hey Kathy hope you are well :goodvibes

I've finally made my way back to catch up!! Love the intros.

Aaw love the shot of you meeting the girls - soo cute :cutie:

:woohoo: at Andy and Des being at Disney World!!

Yummy EoS pics and love that the girls are making Mark proud with all the hat pics! :rotfl:

ETA: Had to go back and check what the great news was...that's great!

It was a Gold Rush with NO Nuts, super yummy!!

Kathy - congrats on your clean bill of health! So happy to hear that awesome news!

Out of curiosity...how much did Andy and Des love their castle view room at BLT? We had originally planned to stay there, also in a castle view room, for our anniversary trip in 2013...but it will cost more. We're currently considering a split stay at AKV and then switching to BWV...but that castle view room is really calling my name...I don't know what to do!!! :confused3

Ali, I know you love CSR, as do I, but I think you are reallly going to enjoy OKW. Just ask for a room "off the street" and away from bus stop.

Our DVC guy requested rooms near HH and since we don't know anything about the place, we figured being close to the main building for our first visit might not be such a bad idea!

I also love those pics of Cayley with that red hat on! They are both just so dang cute! :cutie:

We love EoS! Never had a bad sandwich there! In 2008 we actually stopped there for breakfast before we left for for MCO and even THAT was amazing!

It was a Gold Rush with NO Nuts, super yummy!!
It LOOKED yummy! But I would have needed the nuts... LOVED the pics you posted of your first night, your daughters are so. :lovestruc:lovestruc
I went for my five-year anniversary mammogram this morning and I am clean as a whistle!

Mark is taking me out to dinner to celebrate (but probably tomorrow night since I was up at 4:30 for my 7:45 appointment).
I had to capture the quote, it was definitely worth repeating!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Five years is a HUGE milestone, I hope you all enjoyed your celebration dinner!
They've been dating since June...so eight months. It's not that I don't like her, there are just some things that bother me and I'm not sure this is the right one for him. But that could just be me as his mother. As Mark says, "not our problem."
Thanks, Judy. It's not so much that they are young (Andy will be 26 next week), but that I'm not sure she is the right one. Markie is only 23 and Alisha won't be 21 until next month, but I know she is THE one for him and I expect a ring within the year.
Christian is 21...Pete and I got married two weeks before his 21 birthday...I can't IMAGINE Christian married so young...and yet, he would be a great husband! I already KNOW I am not going to like the girl he decides to marry, he is much too nice and I am going to think she is not nearly as kind as he deserves! I want Christian to find HIS Alisha! I hope Andy has a FABULOUS birthday! I wish I was going to be 26 next week, with the wisdom I have now!

Congratulations on the 60 lbs...that is awesome. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: I'll try to forewarn the next time when there is going to be food porn.
Not to worry, I found twenty of them for you...:sad2::lmao::sad2:

I hope you ladies have a MARVELOUS Sunday!

I'm going to do all my responses now and then after dinner I will do an update (I got the photopass CD yesterday so I can move on without having to wait to post the pictures).

I've had Earl of Sandwich on my radar for many trips now and thought that I'd get to finally go in May. However, once we booked the cruise, EOS was out the window again. Guess I'll just have to be satisfied with your pictures of those yummy looking sandwiches.

The hat pictures are so cute and I am sure they made Mark smile.

Lisa, you MUST get to EOS one of these days...yummy.

Mark was very pleased.

No Hawaiian BBQ? :sad2:

I want to really try the Hawaiian BBQ next time...it looks yummy.

I wish I had some EoS in front of me right now!

homer-simpson-pictures-463.jpg

Oh and BTW.... you gave away that you were going shopping in the title of the update!!! :lmao::lmao:

The girls look so cute trying on all those hats! :goodvibes:goodvibes

I wish they'd put an EoS in Chicago...we'd be there once a week without fail.

Well, you seem to be the only one who caught the title of my update. ;)

The girls look cute no matter what.

I loved DTD almost as much as the parks. We didn't get to spend much time there though since we had too many of the non-shopping sex with us. But Mom and I planted them by a fountain and did get to spend a little money in World of Disney at least. Next time I am leaving the boys at the room and shopping by myself! :rotfl:

EoS was on my list too, but we had just had a big breakfast, so we settled for icecream for lunch instead. Love that Ghiradelli!

Good idea to leave the boys behind (although i have to admit my DH loves shopping at DTD).

Be sure to try EOS next time.

Oh, it's over there by that thing-a-ma-gig, next to that place with the door. You know, across the path from that place where that guy did that thing a few years ago.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Excellent choice.
Thank you.

:crazy2:
I'd stop reading right now if Ryder's headware wasn't an issue.

See I knew you were a smart man.

It wouldn't be KatMark without Silly Hats. :thumbsup2

Thanks, Barry.

EOS and Ghirardelli's: the meal of champions. ::yes::

I have to agree with you.

You didn't let me down!

Just for you my friend.

I love this picture.

She was NOT happy with the hat falling in her face.

All those purchases just run together. :rotfl2:

That sounds good to me instead of my brain becoming feeble.

Looking forward to more, Kathy and Mary.

Thanks, Glenn.

Nice update… :goodvibes

Thank you, sir.

Excellent choice of venues for dinner and dessert (DisDad Approved)… :thumbsup2

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: We got the DisDad Approval.

A fine evening of rummaging through the shops… ;)

It was fun.

Sorry you were in need of meds (may that nonsense clear up quickly)…

Unfortunately, those meds wer eneeded the entire trip.

Was my “typical guy response” wrong? :scratchin

I think not.

No, you were not wrong.

Not even close to being caught up but putting my 'stamp' on your TR so you will know I'm working on it!!!

Yay! I'm all caught up!:woohoo:

Looks like the surprise of Ms Kathy being on the trip went off without a hitch! Love those sweet smiles on everyone's faces! :thumbsup2

Cute cute pics of Andy and Des, too! Hope they are having/had a good time there!!!

Amy, so glad you are here and caught up (I've been going slow with a lot going on and waiting on the photopass CD).

Andy and Des had a really good time.

Mary - this child needs to be a model. I can't even stand HOW CUTE she is in this picture! OMG! She is precious!

I agree...they could both be models.

Kathy - I love the pictures of Andy and Des. What a wonderful week they are having. Sounds like a total blast and I am sure you are thrilled for him.

They had a really good time; Andy was a little sad he couldn't stay and extra couple of days.

Ladies - lovely first evening! Nothing better than DTD to start off a trip the right way, especially when it ends with shopping and ice cream!

Thanks, MaryEllen; it was the perfect first day.

I know your feelings on the matter, but this is one great picture!!! You have to admit they look good together in this one..... ;)

It is a good picture of them.

Like so many others we haven't done this one, even though it has been on my "gotta try sometime" list! Just never worked it into the schedule. :confused3

Get with the program, Marv.

Maybe I shouldn't tell you we have this in common since I'm apparently not high on your list right now......... :sad1:

Why would you not be high on my list? :confused3:confused3:confused3

I am a Pepsi girl to the end.

You got COFFEE??? :confused3

Yes, I got coffee; it had been along day and I needed to wake up; plus, chocolate and I don't always get along.

Not trying to single out one of your cuties Mary, but this is about as adorable as it gets!!!

Have to agree. :thumbsup2

Any Wooden Marv sightings while you were there??? I hear it is one of his favorite places to hang out....... :goodvibes

Nope, I looked in the hopes he would be there, but he was not.

I did not do EOS this time around, but I do love them! That Goofy hat picture it too funny!

Gives you a reason to go back again....so you can go back to EOS. :)

Love the pics of Andy and Des, they are making me wish I was in Disney right now!

Mmm, EoS! I love the Ham and Swiss sandwich, it's one of my favorites! I love that place so much, I really wish there was on in CT! Hmm, I wonder if I could convince Brandon to go to NYC this weekend, just to go to EoS! :rotfl:

Aww, the hat pictures of the girls are too adorable! Can't wait to read about your first day at the parks!

Jen, thank you...they had a good time.

That ham and cheese is just scrumptious...and I wish I had one righ tnow.

Sorry I have been missing lately but its all for a good reason! LOL I am in the process of applying for the Disney College Program for this Fall! I have a phone interview on Sunday and then I get to find out if I make it! Then I will be able to meet all you DISers this Fall!

Now onto the update! I love EOS! It is my favorite QS in DTD! I really like the Italian! And you guys look like you are having a great time:goodvibes I can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip!

Good for you; please keep us posted and I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

EOS is the best!

Mmmm, Earl of Sandwich. Great choice. I always get lost going to WPE and forget where it is! However, I think I could be considered an expert now, because when I went with my brother in November, we ate there four times. Crazy, I know, but we were on the QSDP and figured it would be a great value.

Of course you went shopping! I would have too. Seriously, what's the point of being a girl if you're not going to invoke that right.

Four times? Wow...that's a lot.

Yes...shopping and girls...a great combo. :goodvibes

Chocolate, I love chocolate. Nothing is better than a banana split with three different scoops of chocolate covered with chocolate syrup; the decadence of chocolate is almost complete euphoria, the richer the better.... The chubby kid who fell into the river of chocolate in Willy Wonka would be a role I could have played so well. :rotfl2:

I LOVE chocolate too; but ever since I hit 50, certain chocolates don't agree with me and I'm not sure what it is that is in it that bothers me. I can eat Fannie May candy every day of the week, but if I eat a Butterfinger -- tummy trouble.

I just posted on my FB page the other day that I could really go for an EoS for dinner that night! Love them. Will definitely be enjoying one next week. Not going to lie, the girls' PB&J looked pretty darn tasty. :)
Loved the DTD pics. One of my favorite places in the entire world.

Friend me on FB if you like. :)

EoS needs to expand more.

I think Mark would really like that PB&J at EoS.

Looks like I got a few days behind here lately.

Andy and Des look like they're having a great time... but then again, they're in Disney. They're supposed to be having fun!

Dinner looks great. EOS is someplace that I keep thinking about going, but so far, it just hasn't worked out. I guess it is probably because we don't spend much time at DTD.

It looks like you had a great evening. I'm glad the girls were willing to do some hat pictures in honor of Mark! :lmao::rotfl2:

Don't worry Andy...I'm behind on everyone's again and will catch up with all of them tonight or tomorrow after I get my update done.

Andy and Des had a great time; they got some nice photopass shots. Andy ordered one as a surprise for Des.

We had a great evening; and you must get to EoS.

That is such wonderful news, Kathy! :woohoo:

I'm so happy that you got a clean bill of health!

Enjoy your celebration dinner....it is well-deserved!

Thank you, Amanda. It was such a great thing to hear.

Wonderful news! Congratulations!

Thank you, Mark.

Oh Kathy, that is WONDERFUL! Here's a hug from me and my three girls What a relief that must be. I knew you were healthy, look how beautiful you look in all these pictures from your Jan. trip! Congratulations sweet friend. Enjoy your celebratory dinner. Where are you going? Starbucks?;)

Thank you, Molly, and thanks to the girls for the hug. We ended up going on Saturday to Cheesecake Factory with a Starbucks stop on the way home. :goodvibes

Congratulations on the great news!!!

Thanks, Andy.

Aw, Kathy and Mary this update was too cute!:goodvibes:goodvibes The girls are really adorable, I love all their hat ensembles. What a fun start to the all girls trip! I think DTD is such a great place to shop and it's away from the parks so the crowds seem less too.

I've not done EOS but I've only heard excellent things about it here. Those sandwiches look mouth watering.

Looking forward to the next update ladies!

The girls simply are too cute for words most of the time. DTD is great; it was a little crowded our first night but it was better the second night.

Thank you, dear friend.

Mary's Pics from the first night

As ms Kathy told you, we made our way to EOS. I had the "beef dip" special sandwich. it was really yummy though the meat could have been cooked a bit more. The girls enjoyed their PB&J. At Goofy"s Cayley got a mixed bag of candy and Av opted to wait for ice cream.

WDWJan12029.jpg

We then headed over to Once Upon a Toy

We did not buy anything here but headed to the Lego Store. They have these new (new to us anyway) line called Lego Friends. Really cute. Each girl got to pick one set. Will this be the only Lego purchase???

After shopping it was time for dessert!!! Av got a kids scoop with sprinkles and I got the Gold Rush. It was super good but no way I could finish it all. We then headed for the boat back to OKW. When we docked we went and checked out the pool area. It was a beautiful night and warm. I really liked how OKW looked at night. Very festive.

We got back to the room and unpacked. Ms Kathy was nice enough to let us have the drawer space. We got ready for bed, tried multiple times to set the wake up call (we are a little slow) and then drifted off to sleep. I had a harder time falling asleep with all the new noises etc.

Mext up. Our first park day!!

You got some great pictures, Mary.

It was my pleasure to give you the drawers; you had more stuff than me with three of you and the "matching outfits" for the girls.

Sounds like y'all were getting the trip off to a great start with some fun shopping! I love the pictures of the different notepad sets....too cute! I must find some of those on my next trip.

Can't wait to hear about the 1st park day! :goodvibes

Shopping is always fun. Aren't those notepads adorable? I want to get some on my next trip for the office.

Thats wonderful news Kathy !! :cool1:

Thank you so much.

I love the random picture of those castle throws...I ended up getting one and loveeeee it!! I usually pass on the extra optional item but its really nice!!

EoS is soooo yummy :goodvibes You look like you are having so much fun!!

YAY for being cancer free, I am SO happy to hear!!

And Andy and Des are sooooo cute together :goodvibes

I got that castle throw from Andy's girlfriend for Christmas...I love it.

Thanks, Shannon. That five year mark is very important.

Des and Andy are cute together.

:rolleyes1:cool1::dance3::yay: for the clean bill of health!

Thanks, Lisa.

Congratulations my friend!!!  :cloud9:

Thanks, Marv, and thanks for the text message.

:woohoo: That is such awesome news!!!

Thanks, Ann.

Sounds like a such a nice night and the pictures of the girls are too cute!

It was a good night.

Kathy - that is wonderful news! So happy for you! Have a wonderful dinner! :goodvibes

Thank you, MaryEllen.

Kathy, That is wonderful news! :woohoo: Enjoy your dinner!

Love the update, with the shopping pictures--the lego sets are cute! Of course I love the notepads---What teacher doesn't love a sticky note pad? ;)

Thanks, Michelle. Dinner was great.

I always bought the teachers notepads when we took the kids for Christmas gifts.

OK...I got a little behind there. :goodvibes Adorable pictures of Andy and Des. She's adorable.

Looks like your evening at DTD was fun. Haven't ever been to EOS or Ghiradelli, if you can believe that.

Can't wait to hear about your first park day.

Thanks, Tina. She is very sweet can can be a little feisty too. And she can't be all that bad...she loves Disney.

You need to get to EOS.

Congratulations Kathy! That is great news! Definitely calls for a celebration.
My aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer right before Christmas. She has been in great spirits and is certain to beat it. She's also very excited that she received the go ahead from the docs to travel to Disney next week for the wedding. :)

I will be keeping your Aunt in my prayers, and I am sure she will beat it too....they've come so far in medicine.

Grats Kathy! That's definitely something to celebrate! :goodvibes

Totally loving the updates ladies! The girls are so omg cute!!

Thank you for the goodvibes, and the girls are cute.

Great updates! :) EoS is definitely a favorite of ours. Congratulations on the news! :goodvibes

Thanks so much.

That is wonderful news to hear. Cancer is a horrible disease and one I can relate to first hand watching my mother battle this illness this past year. I'm glad to see you have won the battle. :thumbsup2

Thanks very much, Bob.

Can't beat EOS is so true. I don't blame Jasmine one bit.

OK...I saw this on FB and I liked it there, but its so much more fun to like it here...

:banana::banana::banana::woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay:

So thrilled for you!

Thanks, Tina. You must be so excited...you leave tomorrow.

I got so behind again, but thank goodness you didn't post too many updates. The girls are just too cute.
I love the hat fashion show. I bet they made Mark proud.
I love EOS too. One of my favorite QS in all of WDW.

Nope...not many updates (going to work on that now). Mark was very proud that the girls lived up to his standards.

Looks like dinner and shopping was fun! I had NO IDEA they had coffee at Goofy's?!?! I was just there...maybe I was just too busy taking pictures of candy to notice!

Dinner was delicious. Yes, when you walk in the store there is a spot for ice cream and coffee behind the other register. I am a cappucino fanatic.

Tanz, glad to see you back.

It was so fun surprising the girls. And I was happy that they were happy to see me.

Thanks for the congrats on my news.

looks great

Thank you.

Kathy - congrats on your clean bill of health! So happy to hear that awesome news!

Out of curiosity...how much did Andy and Des love their castle view room at BLT? Hi, Ali. Andy said he liked BLT...said the view as great; however, they did spend a lot of time at the Poly to watch Wishes from the beach. He said the best thing about BLT was being able to walk to the MK.

You'll be fine anywhere at OKW as the bus service was great. Just try to be away from the street where there is a bus stop.

EOS is the bomb; I would like to try breakfast there one day.

Kathy - such good news to hear officially. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Thanks, Pat.

I had to capture the quote, it was definitely worth repeating!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Five years is a HUGE milestone, I hope you all enjoyed your celebration dinner!

I hope you ladies have a MARVELOUS Sunday!

Judy, thank you so much. I was pretty sure all would be okay, but it was great getting that news from the staff.

EoS is one of my favorites at Downtown Disney! Those sandwiches are the best. Great way to spend the first night!:goodvibes

I am getting old as the details of the trip aren't as sharp as they should be (thank goodness for pictures in my old age to help).

I'm not sure what time we ended up setting the alarm for. I want to say I got up at 7:15 and took a shower and got ready for the day. Mary got up while I was in the shower and then got the girls up when I was done. I walked over to the Hospitality House to get Mary and I some coffee in her refillable mugs.

I took some pictures while I walked over:

girlstrip2011084.jpg

This place would become very popular with Mary and I:

girlstrip2011085.jpg

I came back to Cayley's creation for breakfast:

girlstrip2011083.jpg

The girls in their adorable dresses:

girlstrip2011229.jpg

After the girls ate breakfast, we walked over to the Hospitality House to catch the bus there. Mary was taking pictures of some very pretty flowers:

girlstrip2011086.jpg

We didn't wait long for a bus and arrived at the MK as the opening show was nearing the end. This was the mob scene in front of us as we waited to go through bag check:

Opening show:

Entering the gates after me:

We immediately headed to Tomorrowland so we could get Fastpasses for Splash Mountain as this is the ride that the girls wanted to do for sure that day.
