"She's Looking at Food Pictures Again!" A February Family Vacation! COMPLETE 8/14

Oh, yay! Another trip report! I have to catch up!

You are so lucky to take so many trips this year!

Sounds like a wonderful evening at the MK...there is something about the atmosphere there in the evening that I love! I also love it first thing in the morning:lovestruc

That cookie looks so delicious! It's something we've never had....maybe in August:woohoo:

It was great! I love Magic Kingdom at night too! And the morning is great too! Those are the best times because no on eis there!
Mmm that cookie was good! You should get one! You can get different kinds of cookies too!

Love the pics of Wishes!

I am glad you said that about The Magic, The Memories and You as I have been thinking the same thing. How are you able to see the pics from far out? :confused3

Lol at the Buzz Lightyear pic of you and your brother!

That is cool that you will be meeting your friend at Disney World! Love the castle pics and can't wait to try an ice cream cookie sandwich!

Thank you! And yeah I was surprised I haven't heard more comments about that! Oh well, I mean it's cool! So you know.
And haha I love that picture!
Yeah, it was fun meeting up with her! And YUM those are so good!

I love the red t-shirt you were wearing at Via Napoli! Soooo cute!

Thank you! I think I got it at Mouse Gear!

It sounds like you had a very productive evening at MK! I was cracking up when I compared the two pictures of you and Jonathan on Buzz! Your faces are priceless! I especially love your face in the second one when you are doing better! :lmao:

Ugh, I hate to hear that about Space Mountain! One of my biggest Disney fears is that Space Mountain will break down when I am actually on it and the lights will come on. I just know that seeing what the track actually looks like would really freak me out! I'm not sure why, but I know it would!

That was really nice of you to give your FPs away! I love to do that when we have extras. It seems to really make people's day! :goodvibes

It was so fun! And hahaha we are frumpy :rotfl2: I love taking pictures on buzz!
Aww I know that was annoying! And yeah that would be quite the experience! I'm surprised that has never happened to me! I kind of want it to.. :rolleyes1
And I love doing that! My Mom does too lol. Why should they go to waste when you can make someone's day? :thumbsup2

The crowd picture in front of Crystal Palace looks :scared1:. I do not like crowds either.
That is so cool that you are going to get to meet your Middle School friend at WDW!
It's lunchtime & I'm starving & that ice-cream choc chip cookie sandwich looks sooooooooooooooo gooooood!!!!!!!!!!!

I know, it was NUTS!
And yes, that was such a nice treat!
Mmm that was DELICIOUS I loved it!

How the heck did it take me over 3 days to find this update? :confused3

Anyway, what a productive night, despite those horrible crowds by Crystal Palace! That could have been really annoying with Space but you guys lucked out! :thumbsup2

How awesome that your old friend just happened to get surprised with a trip to FL while you were there! I hope you guys really got to meet up the next day. Guess I'll have to wait for the next update!

Haha it's okay!
Yeah, everything worked out! But everything was getting in our way!
And yes, isn't that awesome? I was so excited to see her! I will update about that soon, I'm sure!

I hate being in the middle of a crowd so thick that no one can walk. Trying to cross Main Street during parade and fireworks time seems to be one of the worst for bottlenecks.

I'm glad Space Mountain came back on for you. I would hate to be the next ones in line only to have the ride shut down.

The ice cream cookie sandwich looks really good. :thumbsup2

Isn't it terrible? I hate that!
And yes, I know right? Oh boy... there's another story about that to come.
And oh yeah, it was delicious!

Wow! What a DAY!

Those crowds are NUTS! :scared1: I'm glad that was as bad as it got all week!

That is a LOT of Buzz and Tomorrowland. But I know it's your fave. :goodvibes

Yayyy for Eden coming to Disney! :woohoo:

I can believe that you could eat that...because I could probably too. It looks HUGE! And sooo good!

That sounds like a very amusing family. I probably would have been cracking up. :lmao: What nice entertainment for the ride home.

Yes it was! And haha yeah I'm thankful for that!
And yeah... I love tomorrowland. It's just very entertaining!
Yay for eden!
And yeah... I can believe it too.
And haha yeah you would have enjoyed them. Frumps.

Oh, yay! Another trip report! I have to catch up!

You are so lucky to take so many trips this year!

Yay I'm glad you're here! And aww yes I'm so happy I've been there so much :) It makes life wonderful

Chapter 10 - Classic Epcot
January 21st, 2011

Today I woke up around 8:15 and got ready to go! Everyone seemed to be inching along this morning and I just wanted to get up and get out the door!

I ate a plain old English Muffin for breakfast because I knew we had a good lunch coming up this day!

Finally after pacing around the room and waiting for everyone to be ready, we left! We got to the bus stop and... the Epcot bus was pulling away. Hooray.

It took about 20 minutes for the next one to show up.. which was a bit frustrating. But nevertheless, we finally made it to Epcot!

Our first stop was Living with the Land! The murals in there were really beautiful and I really stopped to look at them all this time!

dsc0038g.jpg

I like this little boat ride.. all of the plants are really cool!

The Sunflowers are my favorites!

dsc0044he.jpg

Hanging Vegetables:

dsc0045vq.jpg

I liked this picture of the corn.

dsc0046ir.jpg

Save the earth!

dsc0054q.jpg

We exited that building and took a couple pictures because Mother LOVES the flowers at Epcot!

dsc0055bn.jpg

dsc0056gx.jpg

Next we went over to the Living Seas. EDIT: Wow I just called it the "Living Seas." I mean the Seas with Nemo and Friends. That's weird that I did that! I don't even remember the last time I called it by it's old name!

We were going to go on the Nemo ride but the line was too long! I don't like to wait for that ride when I know that it's usually a walk on anyway.

So we went inside and looked at the aquariums!

Here's Dory!

dsc0057ky.jpg

The Lion Fish:

dsc0058go.jpg

Marlin and Nemo!

dsc0060oc.jpg

A Star Fish!

dsc0061yg.jpg

We stopped and watched the Manatees for a while! I love them! They were eating their lunch.

dsc0064ru.jpg

The first vacation to Disney that I remember was my trip from Second Grade. That was the first time I ever went to Epcot! I remember how much I absolutely loved the Manatees when I was that age. I was so sad that they were endangered. I used to collect all of my spare change for them because I wanted to save the manatees! :goodvibes

dsc0066tv.jpg

We also watched the dolphins for a while because I really wanted to get a good picture. Dolphins are my favorite animal so I always end up spending a lot of time here. These ones turned out okay... Not perfect but I still like them!

dsc0074ig.jpg

dsc0080a.jpg

Then we went and rode Figment!

dsc0082u.jpg

I took this picture because he is a frump.

dsc0084sn.jpg

dsc0090ay.jpg

I saw this T-Shirt in the gift shop and I laughed. I think it's funny how Disney knows that the guests miss Dream Finder. They really should just bring him back. (Aren't they bringing back the old Tiki Room? This is a similar circumstance. Plus, I never got to meet Dream Finder. I really wish I did!)

dsc0091ri.jpg

Here are the pretty fountains:

dsc0092q.jpg

And at this point they were starting with the Flower and Garden Preparations! Hooray! They were so beautiful and Mother loved them!

Oh yayy for a classic Epcot day.

YES Mother does love the flowers. princess:

I  Figment. He's such a classic frump.

P.S. I was just waiting for this update.

The flower and garden festival stuff looks amazing, I so want to go for this one year.

I love the figment merchandise...he is soo cute!

Can't wait to hear more:goodvibes

Love me some Epcot and LOVE me some Figment. I remember when Epcot first opened. Journey into Imagination was my favorite ride out of all the parks. It was so ahead of its time then. I really wish they'd bring back Dreamfinder and return it to what it was. I only ride it now so I can remember what it was like when I was 5yrs old. That and Spaceship Earth hold a special place in my heart and mind forever. I get teary eyed every time I ride SE with my boys 'cause I remember how much fun I had with my parents when I was little.

Loved reading about your Epcot day and seeing all the pics! :thumbsup2

I think the flowers look so pretty.

I love how one of your first trip memories is the Manatees!

I'm with you on never waiting for The Seas. I don't think I've ever seen a line, but if I did, I'd come back later.

Can't wait to see where you have lunch at!

I'd never wait for the Nemo ride, either. I remember reading in someone's TR that the line for Nemo was so long that it actually went outside :scared1:

Great update! :thumbsup2 That is so cute that you saved your spare change to help the manatees! I love all of the pictures in this update! It is definitely classic Epcot! :goodvibes

Can't wait to hear more:goodvibes

You definitely should one day! It's lots of fun and very beautiful!
I love figment too!

Sounds like a perfect day at Epcot so far!!!!

It was great!

Hahaha both things are great! I wish I could have ridden that version of Figment! I am so curious to know what it's like! That's such a cute memory :wizard:

Loved reading about your Epcot day and seeing all the pics! :thumbsup2

I love how one of your first trip memories is the Manatees!

Thank you!
And aww I know I love manatees! They're adorable!

It's true! It's one of those rides I just don't wait for haha
And yayy it's a yummy one!

I'd never wait for the Nemo ride, either. I remember reading in someone's TR that the line for Nemo was so long that it actually went outside :scared1:

That's crazy! That's like.. how it was when it opened. Now that beautiful queue just sits there. But it's fun to walk through.

Great update! :thumbsup2 That is so cute that you saved your spare change to help the manatees! I love all of the pictures in this update! It is definitely classic Epcot! :goodvibes

Thank you! And aww I love the manatees! They're adorable. Thank you!

Great update, Jess! Good girl being patient waiting for others...you must have been going nuts!

Remind me when your family is going back...is there another trip planned or is it Kristen's family I am getting confused with?

Also, where are you headed next year? I don't remember reading any plans.

Lastly, (wow I am demanding today...:rotfl:) How do you make a star on your title and in your trip report?

Okay...I said lastly, and now I am adding in...

I assigned my students a class reflection piece. We've been discussing questions towards it in class. Yesterday, I told them they are to use wordle.net to compose it. (They were so excited to not have to write another piece - they already have an argumentation paper due Tuesday.)
So, my point is to share wordle with you and Kristen if you aren't already familiar with it. :flower3:

Hahaha yeah i do get impatient sometimes... but that time I was pretty good :rotfl: I just wanna get the most of my time while I'm there!

Remind me when your family is going back...is there another trip planned or is it Kristen's family I am getting confused with?

Also, where are you headed next year? I don't remember reading any plans.

Hahaha this is the outline of all of our trips:

- Kristen is going with her Dad and her brother in July. They're staying at French Quarter
- Kristen is going with her Mom, Step-Dad, and Little Sister a few weeks later in August. They are staying at Coronado. That is right before I go off to college... and I may potentially be joining them. (because it is disney, of course, and i have to say goodbye) So HOPEFULLY that works out!
- Then for Christmas I'm going with my family and we're staying at Bay Lake Tower.

Lastly, (wow I am demanding today...:rotfl:) How do you make a star on your title and in your trip report?

Hahaha it's totally fine! And I actually just copy and pasted it :) So, super easy!

That sounds really cool! What does the website do, exactly?

:)

Seriously, your food pictures make me want to go back to Disney so bad right now!

It's a shame that you never got to see the Dreamfinder. The ride was so much better back then.

You definitely sound like me in the morning, just wanting to get everyone out the door.

I am all caught up! Another great trip and trip report so far!

I love your pictures, and especially appreciate that you include the food pictures. :)

Looking forward to reading about the rest of your day at Epcot!

Great updates!
-Wow! Crazy crowds! I've never experienced any huge crowds like that :)
-I cannot wait to see the new castle show! Last year for wishes me and my mom sat on the upper level of Pinnochio's Village Haus so we thought it was a good seat...wrong. We could hear the music and see one or two fireworks but we missed the whole show :( Wishes is my favorite show and I am so bummed that we missed it. I really wanted that bonding moment where both me and my mom would cry when we watched it! Oh well....next time :(
-Next time i'll make sure to get there early and get a good spot to see the magic, memories, and you show!
-I haven't been on buzz since '08! Me and my mom just never got around to it last trip.
-I've never had the lights turn on on me on space mountain, but it sounds like it would be awesome! Last trip me and my mom were waiting in line for space mountain and the ride shut down three different times! We finally got on, and I am so glad we did, because I ended up being the first seat! SO MUCH FUN!!!!!
-So sweet that Eden called you! I have a friend like that but I haven't been able to find her on facebook :( We had been best friends since pre-school but she moved away in 4th grade so we lost touch :(
-There's just something about night time at the MK that makes me so incredibly happy! Last trip I remember sitting and using my tripod to take picture's of the castle before wishes started while it was changing colors! I think I just love the atmosphere :) I'm a sucker for it!
-I have yet to ride splash mountain by myself, even though it's my favorite ride! It opened the same day I was born :)
-That ice cream cookie sandwich looks SO GOOD! YUM! I have been eyeing those up at the store, and now I might just have to buy them!
-So sweet of you to give away your fastpasses :) We both gave a few away and recieved a few and it's nice to know that there are still some decent people in the world :)

Okay, now for the next update!
-I did that almost every day last trip! I would wake up at around 6-ish and my mom would still be sleeping so I would go get ready, then take our refillable mugs and go get us coffee and breakfast, then I would come back to the room and put the food on the table and then I would head back out with my dslr camera and walk around Port Orleans Riverside and take pics! By the time I got back my mom would be up and ready and we would eat our breakfast and leave around 7:30-ish :) It worked out great because I got do take tons of pics while my mom got to sleep without me turning the tv on :)
-The mural's are too pretty!
-Love Living With The Land! It's such a relaxing ride and great for taking pics :)
-My mom love's all of the flowers too :) We went right in the middle of the Flower and Garden Festival and it was so neat! I probably would do it again, just because the weather was beautiful!
-I rode the Nemo ride for the 1st time last trip and it was neat, but went way too fast to get pics :(
-Love the fishy pics!
-I also rode Figment for the 1st time last trip and loved it! I agree that they need to bring back viewfinder! On my 1st trip I was able to meet him and figment! It was so cool to see them walking around :)
-That guy is a TOTAL frump!!!
-Love the figment shirt :)
-Aren't they're fountains gorgeous! I live in Kansas City,MO which is the fountain capital of the US...World...one of those, and none of the fountains here are as great as the WDW fountains!

Seriously, your food pictures make me want to go back to Disney so bad right now!

It's a shame that you never got to see the Dreamfinder. The ride was so much better back then.

You definitely sound like me in the morning, just wanting to get everyone out the door.

Oh, I know right? They're borderline dangerous to look at because I almost always get hungry :rotfl:
And I know :( I really feel like I missed out on something!
And hahaha don't be deceived... I'm only like that in Disney! (at the beginning of the trip... because by the end I get tired LOL)

I am all caught up! Another great trip and trip report so far!

I love your pictures, and especially appreciate that you include the food pictures. :)

Looking forward to reading about the rest of your day at Epcot!

Yay! Thank you so much!
And oh, no problem! What's a trip report without food pictures!?
And I am excited to share it with you!

Great updates!
-Wow! Crazy crowds! I've never experienced any huge crowds like that :)

Me either. That was one of the craziest and most hectic Disney moments I've ever experienced. I'm a little scared for Christmas because I feel like it's gonna be like that more often LOL

Aww no! That's so sad! Well, you will definitely have to stake out a good spot for next time so you can have that moment! Thanks for warning me about that though... just incase the thought ever crossed my mind haha

-Next time i'll make sure to get there early and get a good spot to see the magic, memories, and you show!

I'm sure that would make a big difference! So, I will have to do that!

-I haven't been on buzz since '08! Me and my mom just never got around to it last trip.

I LOVE BUZZ! You should go on next time for sure!

Yeah, that was the first time for me when I was on the ride. But it wasn't legit, it just looked a little lighter in there. I'm waiting for the day that ALL of the lights come on and I need to evacuate the ride haha. And wow, that was probably a bit discouraging! But I'm so glad you got to go on, and front seat too! WOOHOO!

-So sweet that Eden called you! I have a friend like that but I haven't been able to find her on facebook :( We had been best friends since pre-school but she moved away in 4th grade so we lost touch :(

Yeah it was so exciting! And aww that's so sad! I hope you find her someday! I bet she misses you!

-There's just something about night time at the MK that makes me so incredibly happy! Last trip I remember sitting and using my tripod to take picture's of the castle before wishes started while it was changing colors! I think I just love the atmosphere :) I'm a sucker for it!

Oh, I completely know what you mean! Magic Kingdom at Night is my favorite thing in the whole world! I'm proud of you for bringing a tripod to the parks! I bet you took some amazing pictures!

-I have yet to ride splash mountain by myself, even though it's my favorite ride! It opened the same day I was born :)

That is so cool!! Aww how adorable! I love splash mountain so much! But it is definitely a lot more fun when you have other people with you!

-That ice cream cookie sandwich looks SO GOOD! YUM! I have been eyeing those up at the store, and now I might just have to buy them!

You definitely should. YUMM I love those so much!

-So sweet of you to give away your fastpasses :) We both gave a few away and recieved a few and it's nice to know that there are still some decent people in the world :)

Yeah we always like to do that! And even then we still have extras! That's nice that you got some back as well! We don't get a lot of fastpasses given to us, but once in a while it happens! So that's nice!

Good work getting up that early! Wow, that sounds like a fantastic morning routine! Yay for Disney mornings!

I agree! I just went on a Mother Daughter Trip with my Mom in April for the Flower and Garden Festival, and wow, that was PERFECT! The weather was fantastic and the flowers were great and there were no crowds! I would definitely do that again!

-I rode the Nemo ride for the 1st time last trip and it was neat, but went way too fast to get pics :(
-Love the fishy pics!

Aww I know :( But next time you can try to get some! I love the Seas!

-I also rode Figment for the 1st time last trip and loved it! I agree that they need to bring back viewfinder! On my 1st trip I was able to meet him and figment! It was so cool to see them walking around :)

My friend has a picture with someone in her family with Dreamfinder and Figment hanging in her kitchen and I thought it was the coolest thing. I wish they still greeted because I would love to meet them!

-That guy is a TOTAL frump!!!

I'm so so glad you agree.

-Love the figment shirt :)
-Aren't they're fountains gorgeous! I live in Kansas City,MO which is the fountain capital of the US...World...one of those, and none of the fountains here are as great as the WDW fountains!
Disney just can't be beat! I love their fountains SO much!

Thanks for all of those comments!! I loved them! :)

Chapter 11 - Le Cellier
February 20th, 2011

At this point it was about 12:20 pm and we were already getting hungry! We had a reservation at 1:20 pm for Le Cellier... but we decided to make our way over early.

dsc0098sg.jpg

We went up to the check-in and explained that our reservation wasn't till 1:20. However, they put us down on the list and we were seated within 5 minutes!

The girl who checked us in was so nice. She talked to us about Tim Horton's (only Northerners will understand that one!) and how her boyfriend got platinum seats at a Leaf's game! My Dad loved talking about Canada with the CM's because my Grandma lives up there!

After our short little wait, we got seated in a booth in the corner of the Northwest Section.

Our server was named Tyler and he was AWESOME!

Jonathan started the meal off by getting a chocolate milkshake, which was delicious. (yes... i had to try it!)

dsc0099lu.jpg

My parents got some appetizer... and I can't really tell what it is by the photo. According to the menu and the process of elimination, it's either the Tomoato Stack or The Lump Crab with Sweet Corn Custards. I just don't know which. :rotfl:

dsc0102h.jpg

Then we got the famous pretzel bread, which everyone loved. I actually really liked the regular bread, too!

dsc0101aj.jpg

And who can go to Le Cellier without getting the Cheddar Cheese Soup!? Jonathan really really enjoyed this!

dsc0104cgz.jpg

Here comes another classic... I got the Mushroom Filet Mingon! However, I substituted the Mashed Potatoes for the Risotto.

dsc0106it.jpg

I got the Risotto on the side, though, so I could try it, but I ended up being happy with the mashed potatoes.

dsc0109br.jpg

Jonathan ordered the steak sandwich for his meal, but his comment was that it was too "intimidating." Aka he ate too many appetizers and he was full by the meal. So we had to take it home.

dsc0107jq.jpg

Mother got the Salmon, which she loved!

dsc0108rj.jpg

And my Dad got the Burger, which he really enjoyed as well!

dsc0110c.jpg

After I finished my meal, I got the Chocolate Moose... which is one of my favorite desserts in all of Disney! OH MY GOD it's so delicious I can't even describe it! And it's adorable! Tyler told us that it's the most photographed dessert on Disney property!

dsc0111jn.jpg

And my parents split a Creme Brulee. It was one of their favorite Creme Brulees they ever had! They raved about it for the rest of the trip!

dsc0112w.jpg

Our waiter, Tyler, was apparently a trainee, and we didn't even know. He was SUCH a good server!! He had a meeting with the boss that day, so we put a good word in for him!

Overall we were very pleased with Le Cellier! There's no negative review from us! Le Cellier was one of our favorites! Right behind Via Napoli! YUM!

dsc0114qd.jpg

After our meal, we headed back to Future World. Dad left because he wanted to go rest. Jonathan and I went on Test Track and we were in a white car!

dsc0116eb.jpg

After our ride, I went on my first solo expedition in Disney World!
