"She's Looking at Food Pictures Again!" A February Family Vacation! COMPLETE 8/14

Oh man, that stinks that you had to do Pre-Calc on vacation! Teachers' rationale sometimes just doesn't make sense :headache:

Yummmm, LTT looks goooooood! I don't eat turkey so I've always kind of discounted eating here but I really think we might try it the next, next time we go down. It's a nice TS in the MK! :thumbsup2 Oh, and that apple crisp looks like enough to get me to go there anyway

Yum, yum, yum!! I love LTT!! Although...when I went, it wasn't served family style? Is that just for dinner or did they change it? :confused3 I have no idea!! haha...either way, I'm going to go back for sure eventually!

Can't wait for more!!

Loved the update! I love Liberty Tree Tavern! Last trip was my first time there, and it was amazing! I still can't believe that I never went when they did the character meal, that must have been so much fun!

Ugh, just reading about your math homework made my head hurt a little! I think it's in an English teacher's nature to be absolutely terrible at math! :lmao:

Yummy! Your LTT dinner looks delicious! We really enjoyed our lunch there in December but I've never tried their dinner. I love all of that traditional food though, so I'm sure it would be right up my alley!

That is so cool that your dad remembered your waiter from so long ago! I love that Disney CMs tend to stick to the same job for a long time!

Homework..yuck!!!! Are you almost done with school for the year???

We love LTT too! We used to go pretty often when they had characters and haven't been back since the characters left!!!

I try not to be THAT teacher...:rolleyes1...(don't know how successful I am though, sometimes there is work that just must be done...) :surfweb:

Really, I think I balance it okay... :cool2:

We've never eaten at LTT, which is odd because the food is totally up dh's alley?!

Ugh I hate when teacher's decide to pile on the homework right after the break, that's how the majority of my university professor's have been and it really takes away from your week off when your completely buried in homework.

Your dinner at LTT looks amazing! This is one of the only Magic Kingdom table service restaurants we haven't tried and I definitely want to soon!

Can't wait to hear more:goodvibes

Doesn't it? That just stinks. That's how my breaks were this year with AP English. Not fun!! Ah well. At least summer vacation will [hopefully] be homework free!
Oh it was SO good! You should definitely give it a try on one of your upcoming trips!

Oh my word my mouth is totally watering after those LTT pictures!!! We are eating there for the first time in September before our MNSSHP night... and now I'm even more excited! :thumbsup2

Yeah... they may have that effect! That food was fabulous! You're going to love your meal there!

Eek at having to do homework whilst on vacation!

Wow at your dad remembering someone he met 7 or 8 years ago :cool1:

The food at LTT looks great and am glad you all enjoyed the experience!

Isn't it a terrible though? Ugh so sad.
I know! I was impressed with my Dad's memory!
And yes, it was delicious!

It just seems wrong to have to do homework on vacation doesn't it? Good for you though for doing it:thumbsup2

How we all love the dinner at LTT...I still miss the characters but we still go for that delicious food!

Yes! It is so wrong. But yeah, I needed to not procrastinate!!
I never got to go when the characters were there! But I actually forgot about that! I was very pleased with the meal either way!

Great update! Love that you rate the restaurants, now I will have to try a few more in September

Thanks! I hope you get to try some good ones! Once I started reading disboards I started booking different restaurants instead of our regulars. I'm really happy with the results!

I love your CP pics.
The one of your dad & Tigger is just priceless.
The family with Pooh bear is a great one too!

I'm impressed with you doing HW while at WDW :thumbsup2

I have never eaten at LTT. The food pictures looked really good! I will have to try it one day.

Thank you so much!
And haha I know. I don't know how I got motivation to do that!
And aww you definitely should try it! Your family would enjoy it, I bet!

Hi! I just stumbled onto your TR and enjoying it so far. Love your hair by the way - so pretty. I think you'd make a fabulous Belle!

I love all the different food pics since some of the places you have gone to, we have't been to yet. Just more places to add to the list!

We were just there a week or two before you and I am wondering if it's too late to start a TR? Maybe it will help me combat my Disney withdrawal? And something to help cheer up my days since it's still cold and dreary outside. When is spring coming????

Welcome to the TR! I'm glad you're here! And aww thank you so so much!! :)
Yes, if you have any questions about the restaurants we went to, just let me know! You should give some of them a try!
No, I don't think it's too late at all!! It's definitely a good idea to keep the trip alive! And haha I have been asking that question for MONTHS now. It seems like we aren't having a spring this year. Wahh!

Sounds like you guys had a lovely time at Liberty Tree Tavern. The food looks delicious.

Yes, it was great!

I love LTT. I know just what you mean about leaving very full. :lmao:

Homework over vacation is terrible. Pre-calc isn't much fun ever. Calc 1 is much more interesting. Still not good during vacation, though.

Me too! And haha wow, yeah I was STUFFED!
And ughh all math is torturous to me! So that was no fun!

Yum your dinner at LTT looked delicious! Last time I was there they still had the characters. I've heard good things about their lunch so I definitely want to try that out next time I go. I really want to buy one of their mugs, too!

I haven't gone for lunch in so long! I used to all of the time! But it was delicious for dinner!

I'm sorry to hear you had to work over vacation. I hate when teachers do that. On my last trip to Disney, the week before when I had rehearsals (I went with chorus & band) for the trip, my teachers all decided to schedule a ton of tests and other important schoolwork that week. My Chorus teacher and the band teacher sent out emails about the trip with the schedule and everything and I could only make-up the work that week. It was awful. I was so angry with my teachers, but everything was ok... sort of. Okay, moving on... Even with your school trouble, it looks as if you had a good dining experience. I've heard many good things about LTT and from your foodie photos, I want to go there right now. The Mac n Cheese and the Apple Crisp (w/ Ice Cream) looks delicious! Is it a Family-style (or Banquet-style) restaurant or a regular "order-your-food" place? Because it seems the food came as a banquet, but I know they serve awesome french fries... Hmm... Well, can't wait to read more! (: Update soon! :mickeyjum

That is terrible! I hate when all of the homework piles up all at once! It's so aggravating!
You should definitel try it! It was served family style and it was GREAT! And I think you're thinking of lunch maybe. Because I think the lunch is just served off of a menu.

Hi! Have been reading but just posting now :goodvibes Did you find the OKW bus situation annoying? I've only stayed at resorts with one or two bus stops, so I was wondering if all the bus stops at OKW were really noticeable? It seems like a beautiful resort, but I'm not sure if I could convince my family that the busses wouldn't be annoying  Anyway, love the report!

I'm glad you're here! And well, I have always gone to OKW since I was like 8 years old. So, I'm used to the bus system. However, sometimes it could be annoying if you needed to get to the park fast and you have to stop at all of the stops. Yeah, that's a pain. However, if your'e open to it, it really isn't too bad. It just depends on your preference! It's a great resort though! And thank you!

I know, right? What a pain.
And mmm it was so great! Oh, the turkey it just one small part of the meal. I would definitely recommend it! SO YUMMY!

Yum, yum, yum!! I love LTT!! Although...when I went, it wasn't served family style? Is that just for dinner or did they change it? :confused3 I have no idea!! haha...either way, I'm going to go back for sure eventually!

Can't wait for more!!

Lunch is served off of a menu and Dinner is family style. You definitely should, it's great!

Loved the update! I love Liberty Tree Tavern! Last trip was my first time there, and it was amazing! I still can't believe that I never went when they did the character meal, that must have been so much fun!

Thank you! Isn't it wonderful? I love it there! And don't worry, I didn't either. I'm sort of sad we missed out. But at least the restaurant is still there and it's serving great meals!

Ugh, just reading about your math homework made my head hurt a little! I think it's in an English teacher's nature to be absolutely terrible at math! :lmao:

Haha yeah, I think math uses the other side of the brain. I'm an english person too!
It was a great dinner! YUM!
And yeah, isn't that great?! I wish I could be a long time CM. That's just an awesome job. I would be so happy haha

Homework..yuck!!!! Are you almost done with school for the year???

We love LTT too! We used to go pretty often when they had characters and haven't been back since the characters left!!!

Yeah, I have tomorrow, thursday, and next tuesday. Then my senior picnic is on June 1st. The Alumni Induction is the 2nd. Then we have a week of exams. Prom on the 10th. And then Graduation is the 13th :( I am SO sad I don't want to leave!!

And aww well it's still good! So you'll have to get back there eventually!

I try not to be THAT teacher...:rolleyes1...(don't know how successful I am though, sometimes there is work that just must be done...) :surfweb:

Really, I think I balance it okay... :cool2:

We've never eaten at LTT, which is odd because the food is totally up dh's alley?!

Haha well, it was just crazy because it was a big test on the whole half year's worth of material! That's a lot to remember! I bet you balance it just fine!
And well then you guys should give it a try! It was great!

I can't believe I never commented on this!!! :scared1: Life has just been crazyy!!!!

That's awful about the midterm, I remember how tired you were from doing all that. At least it's done and you got to go back for a nice and relaxed trip in April!!! :thumbsup2

Liberty Tree Tavern is SOOO yummy, I can't wait to get back there! Unfortunately, Nine Dragons beat it out in the voting for July, but I love it there too, and I'll get to LTT soon enough anyways. :)

Your server sounds great! That's so weird that that lady randomly started singing....:rolleyes1 Oh wait. We did that too. :rotfl:

Can't wait for more! :yay:

I know, I know. That's okay... I know how you feel. (Oh wait... we are together every day. Of course I do )
And I know. That was SO stressful! Yeah, it was definitely easier to just skip school! So much less work.
And that's okay.. I LOVE Nine Dragons. That Red Bean Ice Cream would make me pick that over LTT. So, you'll enjoy it. And you'll get back to LTT soon.
He was a great server! And haha at least we didn't butt in on anyone's birthday celebration! (oh wait... we did :rotfl:)

Chapter 9 - Nighttime at the Magic Kingdom
February 20th, 2011

After Liberty Tree Tavern we walked over to Splash Mountain to get some Fastpasses!

After grabbing those, we stood near Tom Sawyer Island and watched Wishes. It was a different view than usual, but it was very cool!

dsc1141n.jpg

From there you can see how they use perception to make it seem like the really big and loud fireworks are right behind the castle, but they're actually quite a distance away. From Main Street you can't tell the difference!

dsc1151s.jpg

dsc1153x.jpg

I was SO FULL from dinner at this point. I was about ready to burst! I think standing around and letting the food sit just made me feel so full!

So, we started walking, which was better. We tried to make our way over toward Tomorrowland, but we got caught in a MOB scene!! It was so ridiculously crowded. This was one of the worst experiences with crowds we had all week!

This occurred right near Crystal Palace. That area just is hectic all of the time at night. It was nuts! I felt bad because my Dad really really hates crowds. So, I wanted to get out of there as soon as possible! However, at some points we were just at a standstill. What a mess!

dsc0002cx.jpg

It took a little while to get to a point where we could actually breathe, and then The Magic, The Memories, and You! started up on the castle.

dsc0004n.jpg

This was my first time seeing it, and it was really cute! The lighting effects were really cool on the castle! My favorite was when it looked like the Castle was a rocket ship and it was taking off. It looked so real!

dsc0010twm.jpg

However, as far as the actual Photopass Pictures, they were so small! Unless you're right up by the Walt and Mickey Statue, there's no way you're gonna see them. I could have been up on that Castle and I wouldn't have even known!

We decided to stay put and wait out the crowds. Once it was over, we finally made our way to Tomorrowland.

We used some Buzz Lightyear Fastpasses and went on the ride. Dad made a bet that the winner would get a prize, and of course Jonathan won.

Here is me glaring at Jonathan because he beat me. LOL that's probably one of my favorite Buzz Pictures ever.

dsc0013aj.jpg

And here's Mom and Dad's picture:

dsc0014l.jpg

After that, Dad and I went on Space Mountain. We went on the left side track. I was in the very back seat, which was very fun!

Then we went and got more Buzz Fastpasses.

Then we couldn't really decide what to do. So, Mom and Jonathan went on Carousel of Progress while Dad and I went to go use our other Space Mountan Fastpasses.

We waited in line for Space Mountain, got on the right side, and were standing on the numbers in the loading dock. I was on #1, which is the front seat.

There were people in the cars and only one group ahead of us standing on the numbers. However, no one was moving.

Then suddenly... the lights turned on. Awesome.

Everyone was a little upset. So, we asked the Cast Member how long it would take. He told us that on a good day it could take 15-30 minutes. We didn't want to wait that long, so we were just about to leave. He told us to stick it out though, because if they evacuated the building, we got Fastpasses.

So we stayed, and literally less than a minute later it started up again. The best part? The whole place cheered! It was a unifying moment for everyone in that building.

So, we went on and I was in the FRONT ROW, BABY!

After we got off, Dad and I both thought that some of the lights were turned on near the end of the ride. It wasn't super bright, but we could see a little bit.

After Space Mountain, we went back to Buzz Lightyear. And I got a really good score! Yay for improvement!

dsc0016pv.jpg

As I have mentioned, Jonathan and Dad get tired and always end up heading back to the room. And this was about that time of the night. So, we started going to Main Street so we could say goodbye to them.

On the way there, I got a phone call. I looked to see who it was and it was my friend Eden from Middle School! Considering I am a Senior now and we don't go to the same school anymore, it was a little out of the blue that she called me! I only talk to her once every few months.

So I answered the phone and she asks me "are you in Disney World right now?" And I was like "...Yeah why?" And she told me that her family was in Florida and she just got surprised for her birthday! She was coming to Disney World the next day! WOOHOO we were so excited!!

Thankfully I had a nice, flexible schedule so we planned on meeting up at the Magic Kingdom after my lunch! What a treat!

Here I am talking to her on the phone:

dsc0019hu.jpg

I said goodbye to Eden and we finally got to Main Street. We took a few pictures:

dsc0028do.jpg

dsc0031qa.jpg

Then we said goodbye to Dad and Jonathan, and Mom and I kept venturing forward!

We headed to Frontierland and I went on Splash Mountain by myself. I used one of our Fastpasses. I was in the 3rd row and I sat in the middle since I was alone.

After, I met up with Mom and we gave away the other three Fastpasses to some kids. We also gave away the Thunder Mountain Fastpasses we had been holding onto all day to a nice old couple.

After our kind deeds for the day, we headed to Main Street.

I could not remember if the Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich was at the Ice Cream Parlor or the Main Street Bakery, and after a little confusion we finally ended up in the right place: The Main Street Bakery.

Mother and I decided to split an Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich with Chocolate Chip Cookies. It was a big portion, but it was very delicious!

dsc0033vv.jpg

I can't believe I was able to eat that after my huge feat at Liberty Tree Tavern! Sometimes I think that my stomach is a bottomless pit.

We left the Magic Kingdom and got right on the bus! Hooray!

There was a frumpy family on the bus ride home. The daughter was really tired and her Mom was like "Don't fall asleep! Eat your cookie!" and the little girl would hit her dad with a light saber. It was really amusing.

Soon enough, we were back to our room and fell right to sleep!

Oh your ice cream sandwich looks so yummy! Remember when they had those everywhere at WDW?

Sounds like a wonderful evening at the MK...there is something about the atmosphere there in the evening that I love! I also love it first thing in the morning:lovestruc

That cookie looks so delicious! It's something we've never had....maybe in August:woohoo:

Love the pics of Wishes!

I am glad you said that about The Magic, The Memories and You as I have been thinking the same thing. How are you able to see the pics from far out? :confused3

Lol at the Buzz Lightyear pic of you and your brother!

That is cool that you will be meeting your friend at Disney World! Love the castle pics and can't wait to try an ice cream cookie sandwich!

It sounds like you had a very productive evening at MK! I was cracking up when I compared the two pictures of you and Jonathan on Buzz! Your faces are priceless! I especially love your face in the second one when you are doing better! :lmao:

Ugh, I hate to hear that about Space Mountain! One of my biggest Disney fears is that Space Mountain will break down when I am actually on it and the lights will come on. I just know that seeing what the track actually looks like would really freak me out! I'm not sure why, but I know it would!

That was really nice of you to give your FPs away! I love to do that when we have extras. It seems to really make people's day! :goodvibes

The crowd picture in front of Crystal Palace looks :scared1:. I do not like crowds either.
That is so cool that you are going to get to meet your Middle School friend at WDW!
It's lunchtime & I'm starving & that ice-cream choc chip cookie sandwich looks sooooooooooooooo gooooood!!!!!!!!!!!

How the heck did it take me over 3 days to find this update? :confused3

Anyway, what a productive night, despite those horrible crowds by Crystal Palace! That could have been really annoying with Space but you guys lucked out! :thumbsup2

How awesome that your old friend just happened to get surprised with a trip to FL while you were there! I hope you guys really got to meet up the next day. Guess I'll have to wait for the next update!

I hate being in the middle of a crowd so thick that no one can walk. Trying to cross Main Street during parade and fireworks time seems to be one of the worst for bottlenecks.

I'm glad Space Mountain came back on for you. I would hate to be the next ones in line only to have the ride shut down.

The ice cream cookie sandwich looks really good. :thumbsup2

Wow! What a DAY!

Those crowds are NUTS! :scared1: I'm glad that was as bad as it got all week!

That is a LOT of Buzz and Tomorrowland. But I know it's your fave. :goodvibes

Yayyy for Eden coming to Disney! :woohoo:

I can believe that you could eat that...because I could probably too. It looks HUGE! And sooo good!

That sounds like a very amusing family. I probably would have been cracking up. :lmao: What nice entertainment for the ride home.
