"She's Looking at Food Pictures Again!" A February Family Vacation! COMPLETE 8/14

Great pictures and update from CP....seriously love Disney Breakfast Food and that food looks amazing!! The french toast you describe sounds delish!

I'm actually glad to hear that Splash isn't so splashy. Even when it's really hot, it's just not fun to be soaking wet. A little wet, sure. But not drenching, miserable wet.

So cool that Aladdin and Jasmine were riding the Magic Carpets. That would have been fun to see.

I was down there the same time and Splash was having some technical difficulties for awhile, but when it was working properly I was wet for a while, longer than my first trip so I don't think you have to worry, though the front row is the best row :thumbsup2 Just wanted to note this. :)

Yayy!   i'm glad to hear that the front row is still as wonderful as always. :thumbsup2 I think DLR's Splash is better though. :snooty:

I've never been to DL so I don't know what that one is like. But I know on the Splash Mountain at WDW, I think along with the seat bars is a new drop. I'm pretty sure I noticed a new drop.

Looks like Crystal Palace was a fun time! :) That was my first character meal ever, but we went there for dinner not breakfast. The dinner was pretty good, not like other meals I had over the trip, but it was nice (we never had a breakfast from CSs or TSs that trip) And the character interaction there is awesome (except when cheerleaders decide they want to hog Tigger. GRRR...) I must go there for breakfast sometime it looked really good. :goodvibes Then, you get to see the unthinkable with the Noodle Station opened! That thing is NEVER opened. I just don't get that restaurant, at all. *shakes head* I also don't get the change in audio. I'm one of few on here who never heard the original, but I was searching for the Tom Morrow part on my most recent trip and it wasn't there :( Aside from that, you get to go on Splash Mountain! <3 that ride As I said earlier, I was down around the same time as you and when we went Splash Mountain was having all kinds of technical difficulties, so I'm guessing it wasn't working its best at the time. There was actually a point, where the water wasn't running down the drop. There seemed to be a lot of adjusting, though... I actually got a lot more wet than the other times I've been on it when I went and I went on it A LOT my first trip, generally first or second row. It may have been the weight of the boat you were in too, I've noticed that changes things. :/ That bus driver was definitely really snappy with you guys. I've had a few of those, but that one was just mean. I'm surprised Disney didn't fire her on the spot. Its a magical HAPPY place, not "I hate my life and I'll thrust out my anger on all of you" *shakes head* Not cool... Well at least you got to the resort fine ;) I can't wait to read more! Update soon! :mickeyjum

I love Crystal Palace too! Yeah I think Breakfast is better than dinner! You should try it sometime! And yes, the characters at CP are usually pretty good! I always enjoy meeting them!
I know that noodle station. So mind blowing. I should have taken a picture. I will at Christmas - if it's open.
And aww you should hear the old audio of TTA. It's like my childhood in a nutshell. And now it's gone. Good thing it's on my iPod!
Yay for Splash Mountain! And yeah the way the weight is distributed definitely makes a huge difference. I don't know exactly the way it needs to be placed for the people to get soaked though. I always forget.
And oh yeah, that dang bus driver. Oh well! I thankfully got off that bus without any injuries and never had to see him again!

I want to wake up and go to a Disney breakfast!! (Maybe I will get a Mickey head cookie cutter and change the shape of dh's kashi waffles to make him smile in the summer. He leaves for work before dds and I get up.)

Love the pics at CP! Stinks about the bus driver...were your folks annoyed? I can only imagine if that driver has to drive my nine year olds---they bounce around like Tigger - all.the.time.

Dh and I were shocked to see Noodle Station almost open when we were there at the end of Jan! (The windows were open and the lights were on. They must have been preparing for your trip! :rotfl:

Me too!! And aww that is such a cute idea! You should do that for sure!
And yeah, my parents were a little shocked my is behavior. It was just so rude. I would have moved with no problem if he asked nicely! And hahaha yeah, I don't know how he would have handled kids. I hate when people have to act like that if they work in Disney! Not okay!
And yes, isn't it a shocking sight?! I really need to like... eat there. I heard it's not that great, but I have to! Maybe at Christmas.

We love Crystal Palace too! And I totally agree about Disney bacon...something just isn't fabulous about it.

I'm so glad you got to finally go on Splash Mountain...yeah for fastpasses!!!! :woohoo:

And that is super cool that the TOMORROWLAND TERRACE NOODLE STATION WAS OPEN! I've never seen it open....fun fun! :thumbsup2

I know right? I just don't get what's wrong with it. What a waste.
YAY for Splash Mountain!!
And haha I know right?! There are some good things about being there at crowded times of the year, I guess!

Ahh how much your pictures have made me miss Crystal Palace, we absolutely loved it for dinner and your pictures have me definitely wanting to try it for Breakfast soon.

Yay for the Noodle Station being open, I can't believe you didn't document the moment with a photo lol.

Yikes about that bus driver, that's not the service anyone wants at disney

Can't wait to hear more:goodvibes

You definitely should try breakfast there! It's even better than dinner!
And hahaha I know I am very surprised at myself. I think I took a picture on my phone and sent it to Kristen, however the quality is bad. And I just forgot to on my regular camera. Next time!
And I completely agree. How rude.

The CP breakfast looks sooooo yummy!! I'm glad you reviewed it now because we're trying it there for the first time on 6/8 :thumbsup2 I hope we have a great experience like you did!

Love the family picture, you all look sooo happy :cutie:

Sounds like a really good morning overall at the MK...oh and p.s. is your hair naturally curly like that? I love it!

It is GREAT! I am excited for you to try it! I hope you enjoy it!!
And thank you!
And yep that's my natural hair! Thanks so much!

Yay we are eating at CP and I can't wait after seeing your review. The food looks yummy! popcorn::

I love all the pics with the characters - question, how do you tell if these characters have switched places?! :rotfl:

Wow on Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle station being open - that is def a shocker!!

I'm glad you got to go on Splash but what was the deal with that bus driver?! You are right - some people do not deserve to work for Disney.

Be excited! It's delicious!
Hahaha I can't really tell with these characters :rotfl: They all look the same nowww.
And I know. I flipped. I love when that thing is open. It just intrigues me so much. I would like to know more about that mystery.
I don't know what was his problem. He probably was having something bad going on in his life. Poor guy.

After lurking at the Port Report, I decided to post here. Your TRs are awesome!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you're enjoying both of them! :)

Mmmmm I LOVE Crystal Palace for breakfast.

It has the BEST food!

I can't wait for my ADR there in July! :woohoo: 69 days!!!!!!!

And your character pics are SO CUTE. I LOVE that family.

The Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station being open IS a monumental thing. I appreciate it. It was only open once that I can remember, over 4th of July weekend, and I went. But I don't remember it too well or what I ate because I was like 10 years old. But oh well. At least I know I've experienced it when it wasn't in lurkdom!

SPLASH MOUNTAIN!!!!!!!!! OMG. I miss that ride so much that it is absolutely the FIRST order of business on our first park day in July. I have made that QUITE clear. I hope I sit in the front or close to the front so I actually get wet though.

Wahh about the crabby bus drivers. I always like sprawl out on the buses when they're pretty empty. I've never had a problem...that guy must have been having a rough day. But then again is that possible in Disney??

Can't wait for moreeee!

I'm glad you're going to CP for breakfast! SO GOOD!
I really wonder if I ever ate there. I honestly can not remember the places I ate when I was little. We'd always go to random spots. I just feel like the noodle station probably wasn't one of them though.
Haha I know, I kind of get disappointed when I don't get wet. Oh well. I love splash mountain!
And haha so do I! Oh well. I hope he's happier now a days.

I was down there the same time and Splash was having some technical difficulties for awhile, but when it was working properly I was wet for a while, longer than my first trip so I don't think you have to worry, though the front row is the best row :thumbsup2 Just wanted to note this. :)

Good to know! I want to go on it and get soaked!!

Great pictures and update from CP....seriously love Disney Breakfast Food and that food looks amazing!! The french toast you describe sounds delish!

Thanks! And oh yes, the French Toast is the best part. It is FANTASTIC!

Yeah, I have to be in the mood haha.
And yes, it was so cute! I wish I could have ridden with them! Well, I wish I could have ridden with aladdin. He could have sang a whole new world to me and my dream would have come true :cloud9:

I've never been to DL so I don't know what that one is like. But I know on the Splash Mountain at WDW, I think along with the seat bars is a new drop. I'm pretty sure I noticed a new drop.

I actually think it's still the same :goodvibes It seemed like it to me anyway haha.

Hi!! I just posted in your last TR and came over to this one! Both girls I'm going to Disney with in 13 days are over here! (xoktenox and lauren_elizabeth)! We're staying at OKW too!! WOOOHOOO! I cannot wait to stay there and I'm glad to hear you love it so much! Lauren and I also have ADR's at Via Napoli! I was actually lucky enough to try it on my last trip when it was in it's "soft opening" phase and I LOVED it! It's definitely awesome.

Can't wait for more!! :goodvibes

Chapter 8 - A Lovely Afternoon and Liberty Tree Tavern
February 20th, 2011

So, we got back to our room and I immediately fell asleep. I don't think I had fully caught up from that early flight the day before, so I was pretty tired. I think that all of us fell asleep, actually!

Once I woke up, I worked on some of my Math Midterm Study Guide. This was the last thing I wanted to be doing on vacation, however my Math Teacher decided to give us a Pre-Calc Midterm on the day we got back from break! How ridiculous. I honestly had less homework to do when I skipped 3 days of school in January to go to Disney as opposed to this break. I had so much more to do! I did 1 out of 17 sections of my study guide, it was on the distance formula. How fun.

After about an hour of that, I woke Jonathan up. Mom and Dad came back from their walk to the main area, and we got ready to go again!

We were headed back to the Magic Kingdom for our 6:45 pm reservation at Liberty Tree Tavern!

The bus took a little while to show up

But we got to the restaurant RIGHT at 6:45!

dsc1134.jpg

We were seated in the Jefferson Room and our waiter's name was Rory. He was from Kokamo, Indiana.

My Dad asked him if he had worked there for a long time, and he said he is coming up on 20 years now! My Dad had remembered him from when we ate at Liberty Tree Tavern before. However, I don't even remember the last time we ate there as a family. It could have been 7 or 8 years ago! What a good memory!

Rory told us that he worked at the Grand Floridian before he worked at Liberty Tree Tavern. We also discussed Jeopardy with him. This was the point in time when that machine was playing against the contestants. "Watson" was its name. We all thought that was pretty intriguing.

So basically, as you can tell, we had REALLY good service! One of the best experiences of the entire trip! The servers who have been working at Disney for that long are SO good with the guests. Those are the REAL Disney Cast Members!

Now for the Food....

Holy God it was good.

A Traditional American Feast. It was Delicious!

Here's the Declaration Salad:

And the Rolls:

And then the Patriot's Platter! Sorry it's only one picture of everything. Everyone was too anxious to dig in!

There was Turkey, Carved Beef, Smoked Ham, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Stuffing, and Macaroni and Cheese.

Lastly, here's the Apple Crisp with Ice Cream!

dsc1139f.jpg

I honestly don't think I've ever been that full before. I felt like I was going to explode. I stuffed myself to the brim. Everything tasted spectacular.

There were a lot of birthdays in the Jefferson Room that night. This one little girl had a birthday, and a lady at another random table started singing "Happy Birthday" to her. The Cast Members looked all confused, because that was sort of their job, but they went with it. Then when the kid at that lady's table had a birthday, the waiters all sang him a nice Liberty Tree Tavern Birthday Song. The little girl got jipped! Poor kid. Oh, guests.

Overall, though, we had a very enjoyable experience at Liberty Tree Tavern!

Overview of Liberty Tree Tavern Dining Experience:
Order: Family Style Feast
Rating: 5/5
Service: Great! Rory was probably one of our top favorite servers! He was fantastic!
Overall Experience: It was so good! We really really enjoyed it! But I was SO full when I left!
Overall Rating: 5/5
1st Visit: For Dinner, yes.
Revisit?: Yes! Not #1 on the list but someday I will definitely go back!
Complaints: When the room was filled, it was a bit noisy.

:goodvibes

Welcome to the TR! I am so excited for you girls you are going to have an AMAZING time!! That's so soon too! Yay! Mmm Via Napoli! You're going to love it again! Have a wonderful trip!

Ugh I hate when teacher's decide to pile on the homework right after the break, that's how the majority of my university professor's have been and it really takes away from your week off when your completely buried in homework.

Your dinner at LTT looks amazing! This is one of the only Magic Kingdom table service restaurants we haven't tried and I definitely want to soon!

Can't wait to hear more:goodvibes

Oh my word my mouth is totally watering after those LTT pictures!!! We are eating there for the first time in September before our MNSSHP night... and now I'm even more excited! :thumbsup2

Eek at having to do homework whilst on vacation!

Wow at your dad remembering someone he met 7 or 8 years ago :cool1:

The food at LTT looks great and am glad you all enjoyed the experience!

It just seems wrong to have to do homework on vacation doesn't it? Good for you though for doing it:thumbsup2

How we all love the dinner at LTT...I still miss the characters but we still go for that delicious food!

Great update! Love that you rate the restaurants, now I will have to try a few more in September

I love your CP pics.
The one of your dad & Tigger is just priceless.
The family with Pooh bear is a great one too!

I'm impressed with you doing HW while at WDW :thumbsup2

I have never eaten at LTT. The food pictures looked really good! I will have to try it one day.

Hi! I just stumbled onto your TR and enjoying it so far. Love your hair by the way - so pretty. I think you'd make a fabulous Belle!

I love all the different food pics since some of the places you have gone to, we have't been to yet. Just more places to add to the list!

We were just there a week or two before you and I am wondering if it's too late to start a TR? Maybe it will help me combat my Disney withdrawal? And something to help cheer up my days since it's still cold and dreary outside. When is spring coming????

I love LTT. I know just what you mean about leaving very full. :lmao:

Homework over vacation is terrible. Pre-calc isn't much fun ever. Calc 1 is much more interesting. Still not good during vacation, though.

Yum your dinner at LTT looked delicious! Last time I was there they still had the characters. I've heard good things about their lunch so I definitely want to try that out next time I go. I really want to buy one of their mugs, too!

I'm sorry to hear you had to work over vacation. I hate when teachers do that. On my last trip to Disney, the week before when I had rehearsals (I went with chorus & band) for the trip, my teachers all decided to schedule a ton of tests and other important schoolwork that week. My Chorus teacher and the band teacher sent out emails about the trip with the schedule and everything and I could only make-up the work that week. It was awful. I was so angry with my teachers, but everything was ok... sort of. Okay, moving on... Even with your school trouble, it looks as if you had a good dining experience. I've heard many good things about LTT and from your foodie photos, I want to go there right now. The Mac n Cheese and the Apple Crisp (w/ Ice Cream) looks delicious! Is it a Family-style (or Banquet-style) restaurant or a regular "order-your-food" place? Because it seems the food came as a banquet, but I know they serve awesome french fries... Hmm... Well, can't wait to read more! (: Update soon! :mickeyjum

Hi! Have been reading but just posting now :goodvibes Did you find the OKW bus situation annoying? I've only stayed at resorts with one or two bus stops, so I was wondering if all the bus stops at OKW were really noticeable? It seems like a beautiful resort, but I'm not sure if I could convince my family that the busses wouldn't be annoying  Anyway, love the report!
