"She's Looking at Food Pictures Again!" A February Family Vacation! COMPLETE 8/14

I'm going to say this first otherwise I'll probably forget...I love Spectro so much more than the Main Street Electrical Parade! So I agree with you lol

Wow, I'm glad to not be an ordinary Disney tourist anymore! How frustrating that just as you were about to get on Space, it broke down. At least your Splash experience seemed to make up for it!

Very exciting that you got to meet up with your friend and her family! :goodvibes

Oh to be an ordinary Disney tourist again.....no thank you!

It's amazing the difference that it makes when you know exactly what you're doing, doesn't it? I would have been worried about what their impression was going to be also.

Oh no! I can't believe Space Mountain broke down after waiting so long for it. And with newbies, too. That's so sad.

I love the ride photo on Splash Mountain, though. That looks like a fun time. I love going on rides with first timers. :goodvibes

I love the way you described your little solo experience.

Wow at the Space Mountain wait and experience! Am glad you all got to ride Splash though.

Haha aww thanks! And yeah... that was quite a night! I hope they had fun after all that :lmao:

And I've not been to one of those, just seen it on TV :teeth:

Haha same here!

Loved the update, as always! Splash Mountain is my absolute FAVORITE ride! It opened the exact day and year I was born! So cool!

Thank you! That is seriously SO cool! I love that! :wizard: Splash Mountain is the best.

Haha I'm glad you agree!
And same here! It was really stressful! But yes, it all worked out! It ended up being a fun day!

Haha I agree!
It really does make a difference. Thank GOD i grew up with Disney basically in my blood so I could coordinate a trip from the age of like 8 years old :rotfl: I was so worried that they weren't going to enjoy themselves. And I think they had fun... but didn't love it. Oh well. Can't win them all, I suppose!

I know, that was a crazy experience. i had a feeling that was gonna happen
And haha I know. It just adds so much to the experience. So funny!

Chapter 13 - Wrapping Up The Night
February 21st, 2011

After the parade, we headed back over to Main Street USA! The Magic, The Memories, and You was going on, so we watched it while we were walking to our new position.

dsc05850ni.jpg

A family got up from a bench with the perfect view, so we quickly grabbed their seats!

dsc05851a.jpg

Wishes began and we had a really awesome spot!

dsc05853a.jpg

Since I always have the mindset that "I always have next time," I never really scope out spots for the parades or fireworks. But being there with people who don't know if they're going back forced me to actually sit on Main Street in front of the Castle for fireworks! It was good!

dsc05857t.jpg

The show was AMAZING! And the view is really fantastic from there. I love Wishes. It's such a magical show.

dsc05859i.jpg

After the fireworks ended, though, Eden's family was ready to head out. So, we walked down Main Street and said our goodbyes.

I went on another solo expedition and rode the bus back to Old Key West all by myself!

Mother met me at Peninsular and we decided to go to Olivia's! We didn't eat at Magic Kingdom, so I was hungry!

Here's the Delicious Bread:

dsc05863i.jpg

I went all out and got a Vanilla Milkshake.

dsc05862p.jpg

Mother got soup and salad.

dsc05865g.jpg

dsc05861jg.jpg

And I ordered the Shrimp Pasta, again.

dsc05864i.jpg

Then we grabbed a bus to Turtle Pond.

We got back to the room and Dad and Jonathan had ordered Pizza Hut Pizza. It's not like they're in Disney or anything. :lmao:

Sounds like you did enjoy doing Disney your way, solo in the end! (: I love how you emphasized every moment you were by yourself. "I went on another solo expedition... all by myself!" I don't know how you did it, Disney is a big place, and after experiencing my lonesome moments in ASMu, I don't think I could do that again, but it still looks like fun. :thumbsup2 I love the pictures you got of the castle during Wishes, gorgeous! (: That Vanilla Milkshake looks really good and what is with the Pizza Hut? :sad2: Well apparently if Disney Dinner to them means Pizza Hut, then so be it! :teeth:

That's awesome that you guys were able to see the fireworks, hopefully that made up for your bad luck with the rides.

The food at Olivia's looks really good, but I laughed at the fact that your dad and brother ordered pizza hut...too funny!

Can't wait for more:goodvibes

The food at Olivia's looks really good. I have only eaten therre for breakfast before. I enjoyed that so I figure dinner would be good too.

Great day you had. I am the same with Wishes. Never scope out a place but when I do, I realize how nice it is to have a good view.

sounds like you had fun with your friend! 2 bad space mountian didn't work out for them but it seems like they still enjoyed MK. part of me thinks that would be cool to explore disney by yourself and part of me thinks it would be lonely. funny that your brother and dad got pizza hut when in disney. i can definitely see how you and your mom are way more into disney stuff right there. my family is similar to that because me and my mom are definitely the people who are most into disney in our family. My dad and brother are mildly into disney stuff but are no where near the level my mom and i are at. to be fair though my mom and i are at a much higher disney obsession level than most people are so they are more at a slightly below normal level of disney joy. my mom and i are actually planning a trip for my brother and his fiancee because we know so much about disney.

Congratulations on your solo trip to MK and back to OKW! I see many more in your future! :goodvibes

I want people to love Disney as much as I do, so when someone is mentioning going, I get anxious and want to share all the tips... :scared1: I've learned to give a top five list unless the person shows interest in my ideas. :rotfl2:

HAHAHAHA "got on the monorail like a big girl" You go girl! :cool1:

That's cute that you guys did the Laugh Floor at least!

Oh my about Eden's dad saying he couldn't use his Splash FP's....these first-timers have a lot to learn.

I'm so sorry about Space! I would never have waited in a 70 minute line, no way! I would have said let's skip it and go to CoP or TTA. :rotfl:

At least you guys rode Splash! That ride pic cracks me up. It really captures the magic of one of the frumpiest rides in the history of WDW. :wizard: :rotfl:

I love MSEP, but it doesn't do much for me like Spectro. Sheer Disney magic right there.

I can't wait to see MM&Y!!! The effects look so cool!

I love that spot for Wishes! That is like my classic spot. :goodvibes

YAYYY for Olivia's at random times of the night! That bread looks fabulous.

Woah, a vanilla milkshake AND shrimp pasta!? You really did go all out! HAHA looks wonderful though. :cloud9:

Oh Dad and Jonathan, gotta love 'em. They needed their pizza LOL. It looks really good though! I hope you guys had ranch handy!

I love how Le Cellier and Chocolate Moose are separate on the Highs recap. :lmao:

Can't wait for more! :yay:

Great pics of the show and fireworks! :thumbsup2

Mmm that vanilla shake looks good :cloud9: Lol at your Dad and Jonathan ordering Pizza Hut!

Very cool that you got to meet up with a friend on your trip! I hope Eden got to go on Space Mountain at some other point. Those moments really do show you how important planning can be!

Also, the food from Olivia's looks really tasty! :)

Yes, it wasn't too bad after all! And hahaha I know... I do stuff like that :rotfl: I like to point out big moments of my life. Overall, though, I like being with others. Whether it be at Disney or anywhere.
Thanks about the pictures! And mmm it was a good milkshake! And haha I know.. as long as they're happy in Disney, I'm happy :wizard:

That's awesome that you guys were able to see the fireworks, hopefully that made up for your bad luck with the rides.

Yes, I think they were really impressed with the fireworks... so thank goodness for that!
And haha I know... I laughed too :lmao:

nice update!! All the food looked yummy. Loved the wishes spot!!!!!!

Thank you! :thumbsup2

It's really a good spot! Whenever I stay at OKW I end up going there a lot, so I've eaten there for every meal. It's delicious all the time!
And haha I totally agree about that :goodvibes I should really take the time to get spots more often. It's not like I haven't gone on every ride in disney like 20 times each. :rotfl:

Yeah, it would be cool to be by yourself, but it's definitely more fun to have someone to talk to, in my opinion.
And yes, my mom and I are the disney freaks. My dad and brother are the same way, also. They like Disney and don't mind going but my Mom and I LOVE it :cloud9:
And that is ADORABLE i would love to plan a trip for someone else!

Congratulations on your solo trip to MK and back to OKW! I see many more in your future!

I want people to love Disney as much as I do, so when someone is mentioning going, I get anxious and want to share all the tips... I've learned to give a top five list unless the person shows interest in my ideas.

Haha oh thanks. I was a brave soul :goodvibes
I get to be the same way. And so does my mom haha. Sometimes she starts spewing off tons of tips and I am like... Mom, they don't understand. Just give them the basics

HAHAHAHA "got on the monorail like a big girl" You go girl!

Hahaha you know me. :thumbsup2

That's cute that you guys did the Laugh Floor at least!

Oh my about Eden's dad saying he couldn't use his Splash FP's....these first-timers have a lot to learn.

I know... I think he was trying to be a strict parent and putting his foot down. There's no good in that in Disney.

I'm so sorry about Space! I would never have waited in a 70 minute line, no way! I would have said let's skip it and go to CoP or TTA.

That's what I get for being nice :rotfl:

The best is the rocket ship effect. you're gonna love that.

:cloud9:

You can't expect me to just get one or another ;)

Oh Dad and Jonathan, gotta love 'em. They needed their pizza LOL. It looks really good though! I hope you guys had ranch handy!

Haha I know. If I would have eaten it I would have made sure of that!

I love how Le Cellier and Chocolate Moose are separate on the Highs recap. :lmao:

They were two monumental moments of my life.

Can't wait for more! :yay:

And YUM it was delicious! And hahaha I laughed too :rotfl:

Also, the food from Olivia's looks really tasty! :)

I don't think she did because that was her only day in Disney :( Maybe one day she'll go back. I hope! It was lots of fun getting to see her though!
And oh yes, it was delicious!

What a great end to the day! I cannot wait to see the new show! I watched it in 1080 hd on youtube and cried! LOL! It was awesome! I can say though that no matter where I am if I hear the wishes music or see it I wanna start bawling! I don't know what it is but I get choked up every time! Congrats on your first solo-ish excursion! I did that it the mornings but I never ended up going alone to the parks :( Even though I wanted too! Maybe one day we can meet up on a trip!

I remember how thrilling it was the first time I spent some time at Disney by myself. It's a cool feeling, knowing you can get on any bus you want to and go anywhere you please.

I love that view of Wishes. I wonder why the people left a perfectly good bench. :confused3 Dinner with your mother at Olivia's sounds like a perfect ending to the night.

It's really cute.. I need to watch it up closer because it's hard to see from where I was both nights. And I know, Wishes is so beautiful! Haha thank you! Yeah I didn't completely go alone, but it's fine! I like being with others better anyways! And yes, maybe we'll go at the same time someday!

I know... it's like the whole world is at your fingertips and you can do whatever you want! So many possibilities. It's a cool feeling.
And I love it too! I have no idea why they left, but it worked out well anyway! And yes, that dinner was delectable!

Chapter 14 - Kona
February 22nd, 2011

This morning we woke up at 7:30 am and got out the door by 8:40 am. We had a reservation at Kona for breakfast, and it was my first time going there! I read about it so much on Disboards and I was REALLY excited!

Unfortunately, Dad was trailing behind this morning. Sometimes it's a little hard for him to get out the door.

Mom, Jonathan and I got to the bus stop, and of course the Magic Kingdom Bus pulls right up before Dad even gets there! We were running a little late, and we didn't know what to do, so we just hopped on the bus.

It was packed and the bus driver wouldn't wait for my Dad, so we had to go without him. Poor Dad. He started running out as we were pulling away. What a frantic Disney moment. He texted me and said he would just meet us at the park later.

We were getting close to our reservation time at 9:35 am, but we got to the Poly with minutes to spare.

dsc0121g.jpg

We checked in and wandered away...

dsc0122nq.jpg

And then we were called right back! We were seated within a minute - great start!

We ordered the famous Lilikoi Juice. YUM!

dsc0123lz.jpg

Then I got another text from by Dad saying that he actually was coming to Kona! And he was almost there! :yay:

He actually made it to Kona... before 9:35. :rotfl: We probably could have waited for that second bus and avoided all of this craziness. LOL oh well. You never know with those busses. What a morning!

Our server was Erin and she was from New Hampshire! She was so nice and talked to me about the Disney Internship Program. She also took our picture at the table!

dsc0128do.jpg

We ordered our food! Hooray!

I got the Tonga Toast! mmm It was so good! It definitely lives up to the hype!

dsc0124fb.jpg

Mom got the Macadamia Nut Pineapple Pancakes which were fantastic too!

dsc0125ewe.jpg

And Dad and Jonathan both got the big old breakfast platters! The only complaint from Jonathan was that the eggs were too runny. And the bacon was... ya know. The stupid, wimpy bacon. But other than that - good!

dsc0126ty.jpg

We were all very very happy with Kona! It became one of the new favorites. I booked it for our Christmas Day breakfast for our next trip and I told my Dad today. He got SUPER excited! He just wants to order those Pancakes that my Mom got! Delicious!

After breakfast we got to the Polynesian Lobby.

My friend Bobbie, who was supposed to get us Taylor Swift Tickets, called me and told me she couldn't get them. They sold out too fast. :( But no worries, my Dad ended up knowing a guy who got them for me! And the concert was last week and it was AMAZING! So it all worked out.

I really really want to stay at the Polynesian! I never have and I just love it! The pool looks awesome!

Overview of Kona Dining Experience
