Today is a really exciting day!
Despite being back home and to work after a wonderful week at Disney, we are excited because we get to start our new Trip Report!
We packed a ton of fun in 6 days and we can’t wait to share it with all of our friends.
Let's get things started with introductions and a description of our trip, which took place June 4-10 2024.
Let’s start with the who of the trip. I’m Melissa, I write in orange.
Disney is my favorite vacation and I love making memories with the kids and watching them grow every year. Each trip is filled with new experiences and chances to spend quality time.
I'm Paul, and I make my contributions in Blue.
I'm a Dad, Engineer, and Elevator Technician, but here I am a huge fan of Wilderness Lodge. It is my favorite place on earth, so getting to be there is great for me. We are fortunate enough to have made 12 prior trips to Disney World, and have stayed at WL for 11 of them.
Allison is the “She” in the title of all of our trip reports.
She is 14 now and graduated from 8th grade right before we left for the trip. She took a ton of video footage for her vlogs and she’s currently working on editing and putting them all together. We got a sneak peek and so far they’re pretty funny.
Marshall is our son who is 8 this year, and he has been going to Disney his whole life.
He love it too, and particularly enjoys anything that moves, from trains to cars, boats, and even now roller coasters.
We spent the whole trip in a Copper Creek 1 bedroom Villa.
Wilderness Lodge is hands down our favorite resort and I personally love the one bedroom configuration for us. It works great to have a full size fridge and laundry in the room.
We have been DVC members at Copper Creek since 2017 and it works out great for us to get to stay there about once a year. The extra space of the one bedroom is so nice, and we really do like having our own laundry facilities in the room. I love the view of Bay Lake and the Copper Creek Falls Courtyard, and we have been super fortunate to get some great room locations.
Our trip was in June this year, right after school let out for summer. It’s not our favorite time of year to visit Florida but as Allison gets farther along in school it gets harder for her to take time away and who wants to do homework on vacation anyway.
She just finished 8th grade, and is off to High School next year. We expect that taking time off from school will continue to be difficult for the next few years, so we are just settling in and doing our best to get accustomed to the heat.
So thats the Who, the When, the Where, and the Weather. I think that’s all we need to kick this off, is everybody ready?
I think that covers it. The "Why" isn't even a question worth asking in this group, so let's hop into sharing how we did our latest and greatest trip to the World.
