She's Gonna Party, A June 2025 Copper Creek PTR

Wow, time is flying by. We are at 61 days till our trip and that means I call for ADRs tomorrow morning!

I will probably still be snoozing

Those early morning ADR calls are always interesting. I get up at 2:45 AM with a prioritized list in order with the ones that I think will be harder to get first. Then it gets interesting when I have to make a decision when we can’t get the time or meal that we are looking for. I make some guesses at what might be good to try for, and fit stuff in, but again I have to resist the urge to squeeze too much in.

We went through the calendar and found where we can fit the ADRs in, without over-scheduling. That means we don’t have as many meals scheduled as we could, but that should leave time for more spontaneity.

Something we really enjoyed last trip were our last minute ADRs. We were able to check out two new restaurants and loved them both. I’m hoping we can do some more of that this trip.

Our prioritized list is:

1. Homecomin Brunch (it fits the schedule so we just gotta try)
p63452311-4.jpg

2. Topolino Dinner. (We loved it before, it’s time to try it again. Here's our 2020 visit)
p1008955730-4.jpg

p757214281-4.jpg

p815652213-4.jpg

3. Teppan Edo for dinner (Because the filet…)
p691711631-4.jpg

4. Boma Dinner (Why not if we have a car? Besides, our last visit here was in 2016!)
p975634003-4.jpg

p955755404-4.jpg

p1009610147-4.jpg

5. Boathouse Lunch (Kicking it off right on our first full day.)
p764936273-4.jpg

6. Yak and Yeti Early Lunch (If we’re going to AK, we might as well eat well)
p975561593-4.jpg

With only 5 nights, that’s it for our ADRs. That leaves us chances for quick serve lunches or walk in table service meals.

You have always done great in your choices and I think we’ve only ever canceled 2 ADRs ever.

While we were finalizing plans tonight I mentioned we could have a great trip of meals that “just missed” the cut. This time it appears that Sci Fi Drive In, Liberty Tree, and Wailulu Bar and Grill will have to wait on the standby list.

I don’t think we told everyone we decided to go ahead and do the park hopper tickets. When we left off last we hadn’t decided but I think it’ll be good flexibility to have.

Yes, we are thinking three days of park hoppers, starting after our HS party day, and we'll take one off day before our final park day. Hopefully it will be a plan.

It’ll definitely be interesting only having 3 days of park tickets, we’ve never had that few before but going to the after hours party should be a ton of fun and a great way to do the things that we want to do in that park most efficiently.

Whatever we do will be fun, and hopefully we get to choose some spontaneous things that will make it even better. We can't wait to see (and share) how it works out.

You reminded me that our ADR day is in a few days. We haven't planned any of that stuff yet.

Park hoppers work very well when the restaurants are in the park, or very easily accessible. :)

Yeah, sometimes it kind of sneaks up on you.

Getting the ADRs went very well this morning. I got everything we wanted, and had my choice of times, even for Homecomin brunch. I did try to push my luck and see if I could get Sci Fi drive in on our party night, but there was no availability. Oh well, we’ll save our party time and eat at a QS location that night.

We booked both Yak and Yeti and Teppan Edo on the same day, so I guess park hoppers are on the agenda.

Man I forget about the time our Pacific coast friends have to make ADRs :crazy2: - random question... are you too excited to go back to sleep LOL. I think I would be.

I think SciFi is one of the hardest ADR's to get.
It has been tough for us before, but was the only one we had any issues with this time.

In my experience, once ADR day hits time flies by! Your choices look great.
Yes, exactly! And with all of the things going on with work and the end of the school year we should stay busy and hopefully the time will fly right by.

Yeah, it is earrrrly. When it falls on a weekend day I stay up a little while longer, but on a weekday I’m usually tired enough to get back to sleep. The thing that keeps me up is when there’s a last minute decision or conflict that I have to deal with. Fortunately this time everything went well and I was back in bed by 3:25.

This morning while we were enjoying an off weekend from track and field, and watching our usual Disney Food Blog videos on Sunday morning, I decided to shop for our park tickets. I had looked up pricing from Disney earlier in the week, and was expecting to be in the $2400 range. I was excited to see the half price kids ticket offer through undercover tourist, and we were able to get our tickets for $1930.

I jumped on it and made our last major pre-purchase of this year’s trip.

This means we're actually going! We've got 50 jam packed days left to go but we are all looking forward to the trip.

And we did confirm the park hoppers, at least for three days of the trip. It should be a nice set up.

We have at least 6 track meets left along with end of the year banquets and activities.

We are gonna be busy! At least we have Disney to look forward to as soon as we make it through the school year.

Having park hoppers should be so nice for flexibility because while we only have one day planned at Magic Kingdom I bet we find ourselves there on another day as well.

That's one of the great things about WL, we'll be close enough to hop back over some night, and I bet we do.

We are going to have so much fun.

In other Disney related stuff, we saw that Boathouse turned 10 yesterday. How is that even possible?
p278871254-4.jpg

I guess it took us a while to catch on, and we have been going for quite a while now, but it has definitely secured a spot in our must do list, and will be a first day restaurant for us this time, actually our first ADR of the trip.

I wonder when our first Boathouse Trip was though because I bet we were there pretty early.

I just looked it up via the old trip reports, and it was September 2018 that we first tried it. It has been part of every trip since.

It did take a minute to convince you it would be something good to try. I also think it used to be a double credit meal on the dining plan which would have shied us away from it.

Exactly, I remember not being excited about it since I figured it was a fish place. The amphicars looked cool though and contemplating the Smores baked Alaska got me in. That’s still something we haven’t done.

Do they even still do that?

I just checked online and it says they do. I don't see having enough room for it though after a nice meal there.

This is true, we do pretty good on finding good treats when we want them.

And there's no shortage of desserts at Disney Springs, or Disney in general. I plan to be full of filet mignon sliders.

And pimento cheese.

Mmmmm Hmmmm

Anyway, that's about all for now. Thanks for following along and we'll pop in as we can between high jumps and elevator trouble calls.

You got a really good deal on tickets. Timing is everything when it comes to finding bargains. :)

I'm kind of surprised that Boathouse House has only been there for ten years! We are skipping it on our June trip.

We are glad that some sort of deal showed up that we could take advantage of. There is also a deal on three day park tickets where you get one park per day, but no MK. That wasn’t very exciting for us.

Yeah it is definitely a landmark now, but it still feels new to us. Disney Springs still feels “new” to us. I guess time flies.

Now we are at 29 days till Disney, and amongst the other business of life, our Allison decided she needed her own Disney trip.
p267673625-4.jpg

She convinced us and her boyfriend’s parents to let them go to Disneyland for the day. Lucky kids.
They had a great time but you don’t have to take our word for it Allie is gonna chime in too and tell you about her day.
p349562424-4.jpg

Hola
YEAH IT WAS SO MUCH FUN
I made a vlog.
You can see it at:

What was your favorite part of the day?

All of it Eli is very fun but probably space mountain or autopia we rode it twice and switched drivers each time.
p515371687-4.jpg

That sounds like fun on Autopia, and is adorable on the video.

Yesssss also we got dinner at River Belle Terrace witch was SO YUMMY and it was so cutesy cause the whole place was pink and blue and so aestheticness.

What did you order? It looked delicious.
p374329524-4.jpg

I got burnt ends pasta and Eli got chicken pot pie soup and Ima be honest he ordered better than me.

It seems Eli was fine with letting you make the plans, and was willing to let you take the lead.

Yeah mostly because he didn’t know what was going on but I made sure he had fun

That’s gonna be a pretty hard date to top.

Yesss it was the bestest we are going to try to go to DCA next year but that’s a bit of a stretch.

Goals, it’s good to have goals. Besides he’s a pretty good guy so we like having him around.

Yes I’m keeping him around he’s not going anywhere anytime soon

He passed the first Disney test, so good for him.

Yes he passed with flying colors

Is that all you got for us Allie?

It looks like that's all we get, but at least she participated.

On a side note, I have been working on a project to fix the photos in some of our original trip reports. Images that were stored in photobucket are no longer accessible, but I am uploading the same images to our web server and re-linking them so we all can go back and see how much younger we all were in 2013…

Eh we’ve lived a lot of life since then.

It is fun to look back on without all of the frustrating missing images, since the pictures are the best part of the Trip Reports.

Yes!

I have the 2012, 2013, and 2014 trip images fixed, and I will start working on 2016 soon. Soon most of the pictures should be back, which will make the old reports so much better.
IMG_1775_zps0e27f73f.jpg

Nice.

So, we are continuing with our trip prep. We are planning on putting the track meet gear away soojn and bringing in the suitcases. It is almost packing time!

Yes, but lots of laundry first...

Eli was smart to let Allie plan everything. She's the expert. :)
Can I say - they grow up too fast. :)

I love your old pictures with Allie wearing those cute outfits that Melissa made for her. :)

Oh they grow up so fast! I was just looking back at DD19 BBB pics from when she was 3. We go back in one week! And she went to WDW with her bf (now ex!) in July where she also planned everything. I don’t think he passed the Disney test. :rotfl:

Eli is a very smart boy...

They do definitely grow up way too fast.

I am enjoying going through the old trip reports and fixing the pictures. I am up through the 2018 trip now, and hoping to have all of the images fixed soon.

It happens, some pass and some fail,. It is crazy to look back with how quick they grow.

Love Allie's Trip Report - and what a sweet boyfriend! They do all grow up way too fast.
He's a nice boy, and takes good care of her. He knows how much Disney means to her and wanted to get to go with her.

We are at 15 days from the trip now, which is the point where even I start to worry about getting everything done in time to go. On the bright side though, the new shirts that Allie ordered for her custom currated outfits have started arriving and should all be here by the end of the week.

She convinced Dad she needed some new shirts for the trip. They’re cute and unique.

She puts them together in outfits with specific shorts and matching ears. I couldn't spoil the fun by saying no. I even found a few new shirts for me, including some Wilderness Lodge ones and a Lightning McQueen one.

You guys are gonna be so stylish.

You got something kinda neat too, and you can wear it as well.

I got sucked in by an Instagram ad and bought a new bag for the trip.

It is neat.

It’s pretty cute and seems like it will work out nice. I wasn’t super happy with the backpack we took last year. Hopefully this new bag will work better.

It isn't Disney specific, but is nice and small and comfortable, and I could wear it and not feel too strange, as long as it matches my shoes...

It’s Disney everyone has a bag.

At least ours are getting smaller. It will be nice to travel relatively light in the parks.

Hi I guess I will be following your trip reports cause you are having so much fun sharing !
Keep up good work and keep your “ personality “ forever Disneyfun
Although your nickname will be exuberant-Uber .
When you exit Tomorrowland Speedway at MK , on your right hand side is a
Photo Booth to have your Drivers License made…
Also you will find old fashion photo booths (with the curtain ) still working .
I know there is one at Epcot as you exit Figment attraction in gift shop.
I’ll have to try to remember the other locations..seems like there is one in every park. And Disney Springs !
And our Disney Springs still has the AMC theatre !
Can’t believe Downtown Disney does not have the AMC anymore!

Don’t forget a keepsake park guide map for each theme park .
Universal Studios has already discontinued printing them .
So I worry Disney will eventually.
I laminated the ones I have from Universal (duplicates) and really wish they would surprise me for the EPIC Grand Open Day .
When DCA opened they gave everybody a dated keepsake Grand Open map .
Funny to look at now cause how different the park has grown .

Almost forget
The number one dining reservation must be SCI Fi Dine In at Hollywood Studios…it is probably not available but try to be there when the restaurant Opens for the day. I figure most will be running late and they might go ahead and seat your family…Each car/booth seats 6 passengers !
You will wish they had this at Disneyland!
It is always the first question from my grandkids
Did you get SciFi? …every trip!

It is fun to compare DL to WDW, especially when you consider the changes over time. Allie's first driver's license was from Autopia, and soon she'll have a real one. That's crazy...

We love SciFi. Here's our group there during our first visit in 2018.

The kids were so little then... I also particularly enjoyed the food when we were there in 2023. They seemed to have stepped up their game.
p1960950492-4.jpg

We aren't doing Sci Fi this time, since there were no open spots for our one HS night, but that's ok, we will definitely be back.

Allie's wardrobe looks very cute. I can tell that she really enjoys this part of the planning. :)
Yes, she has shown us a few hundred iterations of those outfits before deciding on the final options. She made good use of three new shirts and is reusing the one because we'll have the chance to do laundry. I bet there will be some more costume changes during the mid-day breaks, but that's part of the fun.

Just about all you need this time of year is rain gear and water. :)
Yeah, we are looking forward to traveling light, without a big backpack of everybody's stuff. Rain gear poses the challenge, and we do have disposable ponchos that we will want to have if we need them, but those might just go in each person's pocket or bag. Water is definitely going to be individual, since we don't want to carry a big heavy bag. Really all that means is we will probably start out carrying bottles, but will likely wind up buying it in the parks... Oh well, it is one of the costs of freedom. :)
