Sherberth Rd to AK on Marathon Day

We are staying at Windsor Hills and plan to be at AK for RD on marathon Sunday. Does anyone know if Sherberth Rd is closed due to the marathon? We don't mind taking the highway either, but I'm not sure of road closures that way either.

If anyone can offer insight into driving that morning, it would be most appreciated.

If you're talking about the full marathon in Jan, we made the mistake of trying to get to AK via Sherberth Rd last year. Sherberth Rd itself was open but once you got to Osceola you could not cross over to AK because of the runners in the street. We had to take Osceola down to Buena Vista Dr and make a U-turn to head back to AK. Then once we parked at AK, there was a bit of a back up getting into the park because the runners were actually blocking the path from the parking lot to the entrance, they were only letting people cross when there was a break in the runners. We didn't mind too much, we just cheered them on while we waited.

Thank you. That is exactly what I needed to know. I understand that driving will not be easy that morning, but I would rather know things like this in advance so that we can avoid turing around.
