Sheraton Vistana/Royal Palms/Sabal Palms/Liki Tiki?

The Marriotts have 2 double beds in their second bedroom as well. Just, where the two on the couch don't have "private" sleeping it doesn't appear they sleep 8 but they most certainly do. Isn't Vistana Resort the one near I drive? I may certainly be confused. We usually stay over by Animal Kingdom but we stayed at the Marriott Harbour Lake this last time and we didn't go back to the room for a break as it was a bit of a hike - not far - just not as convenient. I thought I remembered seeing Vistana right next to us???

yeah, I don't think we were too far from HL.

I guess it's all relative.....we've never found it a long drive to any of the resorts we've stayed at. Especially when you consider we take a break for up to 5-6 hours. Some disney parks are closer than others but that's the same if you are onsite or off.

I think Marriott sabal palms is the only marriott that has twins in the second bedroom...I think. I know one of them does. I wanted to stay at one of the Marriott's, so I had done some research.

Sorry to hijack, but does anyone know of anything that has queen beds in the second bedroom. We were looking at the Vistana and Bonnet Creek for some of our trip but the the double beds scare me off a bit. We want to use our timeshare as its a waste to have it and not use it but its also important to make sure we've get a good night sleep.

We did the Marriott Harbour Lake. The 2nd BR was either 2 doubles or 2Queen. Whatever it was, I actually fell asleep with my DD for the night while reading to her and I slept thru the night it was so comfy!

I have owned at Liki Tiki since 1990. My friend and I have 3 weeks, 1 one bedroom and 2 two bedrooms. I have been at least twice a year since then, and it has only gotten better. I have rented units to coworkers and their families and never heard a complaint, and many friends and family have come down to visit us while there, again no complaints. The grounds are beautiful, the waterpark is great fun and there are two other pools to relax at, along with lots of activities/entertainment. There is a bar that serves light food/appetizers at the waterpark, so you could stay and not have to leave to get food. I have never had a problem with cleanliness, sometimes I think people on these boards have unrealistic expectations.

PP mentioned that Vistana Villages is newer than Vistana Resort. That shouldn't matter now since almost all of Sheraton Vistana has been refurbed recently. Check out the Sheraton Vistana thread to see more about this or Starwood Vacation ownership site to see pics. It looks really nice now. We just booked for SVR for April 2012 and are excited to check it out.
If you decide to do SVR, make sure that you make it clear that you have 8 people when booking. Two of the sections (Falls and Courts) have two twins in the 2nd bedroom and you will want to make sure you don't get those sections. (And I think that the only section that hasn't been fully refurbed is Courts which works for you since you don't want that anyway.)

Thanks, I just had a look at the resort and they are definitely Queen beds.

LOL so how do you say we need clean sheets in spanish?

I am right in thinking that there are two types of rooms one for owners and one for nonowners? My MIL is friends with a woman who has the timeshare so would we be considered an owner or not and if there is the distinction why were yall if you dont mind me asking?

I'll have to ask my son to answer the first question.

Not sure I understand your other question. We exchanged in because we had a deposit that was expiring and this was the only resort available. They claimed they put the exchangers in the best two buildings, but usually that isn't true, so I'm not sure.

The living/dining room was very small and the furniture worn.

With so many nice resorts in the Orlando area, we probably won't go back there.

Just for the record, I'm the most laid back person in the World. I DON'T however, like to check in and see the drain in the garden tub full of gunk. If there is obvious filth, I always wonder how clean everything else is.

The maids at Liki Tiki removed one of our sheets during the mid-week cleaning and didn't replace it. It took three phone calls to get another sheet.

I stay in at least a dozen resorts and hotels a year, so I have lots to compare my experience to. I'm fairly easy to please.

It was an amazing place. Had a great pool and a big water play area for little ones. Sadly it was too cold every day except one when we were there. It was right across from SeaWorld and the location was great. We all agreed we would definitely stay here again.

I am booked for June for Liki for a week, got a really good deal on 2br, we were orginally staying at the music in two rooms but staying off property is saving us 600 so kinda hard to pass that up. Why do you say to stay away from Liki?

We have stayed here at least 6 times over the years with my boys who are now 13 and 15. All of our experiences have been good. It is true that housekeeping most of the time doesn't speak great english, but they were always nice and accomodating. The resort is very laid back, great theming and love that it is about 10 minutes to Disney Parks. Very easy to get to. Publix is just down the street and the water park pool is great for kids. I think that you will really enjoy your stay. Bad experiences happen everywhere including Hyatts and HIltons and Disney resorts. Enjoy your trip. It is going to be great!

Very true, but going with a recognized brand name usually ensures a high level of quality. We only strayed from the brand names once (Orange lake) and it was the worst experience of them all by far.

I feel weird quoting myself :upsidedow but.....

ccgirl......I might have been wrong. Vistana Villages is close to I-drive, just south of Lake Eve. Vistana Resort is by Lake Bryan, close to DTD. Not sure which one is closest to HL.

We stayed 7 night at the Liki Tiki in Jan and couldn't have been happier. We were in the 1400"s and it was great. We had NO problem with cleanliness thoughout our stay.We were close to the "quiet"pool which was heated and enjoyed that.We also went to the "water park pool and although noisier with lots of kids,it was still enjoyable. We ate at the restaurant one night, the all-you-can-eat fish fry and it was tasty and reasonably priced. I think this is a property, depending on where you are placed, you could have some issues. My suggestion is to ask at check in,for a CLEAN room in a newer section and I don't think they'd be any problems.
