Can anyone tell me how close I will be to pool, restaurants, etc?

You are kind of far. Villa 1330 is very close to the first security gate as you enter the resort (just pass the check-in/lobby area).
I'm assuming you are a Saturday check-in ? Usually it's the Friday check-ins for the Fountains that get closest to the pool.

not changing what Maria says - but you are only a short walk from Wendy's and Chick n lay and Walgreens - about 15 minutes.

now onsite restuarant you aren't really that far because there is one in next section. still it will be a walk. about 5 minutes - might be longer.

My Uncle booked last night. What is this diamond line thing?? If I have received confirmation is it too late to book the diamond line thingy?? There is a 1-800 # to contact if any questions with the reservation. to speak to a reservation guide. Which area would you suggest requesting? Thanks kathy

Hi Kathy....it's not too late. The Diamond Lane is just an online form to fill out to specify special requests (such as buildings/locations). It also allows a seperate/shorter line for check-in. If this is a trade, unti 1330 could be changed by Vistana at their discretion. The unit number is only a tool the exchange companies use as a rule-of-thumb. It's subject to change depending on the resort circumstances.

Pat's right....there's also a Bennigans that you could walk to. The closest "on property" restaurant to unit 1330 is Flamingo Cafe, which I would also estimate at 5-7 minutes of a walk. The Fountains pool is maybe another 2 minutes further past the restaurant.

MemoryMaker....maybe this villa # is a typo ? There are no Fountains villas (or any villas in any section) that are 1033. Fountains I & II begin in the 1300's and end in the 1700's.

You're welcome. It's not too early now, I just prefer more like 60 days out or less. They really don't look at the requests until closer anyway.
I would suggest Cascades, Lakes, Fountains I or II. These are all either newer or will have completed their major rehabs. I know Lakes is done their rehab and Fountains I should be done by August. Fountains II was supposed to be done shortly after that. Request a newly rehabbed unit---hope it'll come through for you. The Springs and Falls rehab won't be done until next year from what I read. This could change if things get bumped up.

I called RCi and it seems they sent out the confirmation papers to my uncle, but they are send duplicates to me. I went on the Diamond check in and sent my requests. I asked for Cascades newly rehabbed with pool facing and 2-3 level. I also ordered the paper which will be a surprize for hubby...for $3 for the week I thought what the heck Just cannot wait for October...although spring would be nice instead of all this damn snow!!

This is good Kathy, but keep in mind the Cascades are not due for their major rehabs until next year. I think their owner association is still in meetings about it because it involves an assessment for the owners. But, that said, the Cascades are the newest section and probably don't really need anything major. The older sections were really in need of it.

was the exchange made in your name or your friend's ? I think as long as you have a reservation number you should be ok. I've only traded a couple times in the past 14 years of owning at Vistana. I do recall my name being on the reservation paperwork though. Maybe you can call and ask RCI about this ?

We stayed in cascades last August and the property was in good shape. If we stay there again I would like fountains or lakes because the pool area isn't so busy.
