We are trying to decide between a 1 or 2 bedroom at sheraton vistana or a one bedroom at vacation village at parkway. We want to spend a lot of time at the resort.

IMHO,
Pros:
Vacation village at parkway has an amazing 1000 sq. ft. one bedroom suites that are all fairly new with awesome big screen tv and large in room jacuzzi
Sheraton vistana has an amazing array of pools/ hot tubs/childrens activities
nature walks/wild life viewing opportunites at both properties

Con:
Vacation village at parkway is lacking in the way of childrens actitivites
At Sheraton vistana we could be assigned a very old musty unit (DS has asthma so this would be a nightmare)
The Sheraton will cost us approx $150-$200 more for the week if we get a two bedroom but if we go with the one bedroom I don't think there will be a in room jacuzzi? (correct me if I'm wrong please)

fyi, during this week all we want to do is two days at SeaWorld, one day at a state park to see the manatees/wildlife, the rest of the days at the resort (hopefully swimming, if weather is nice enough 12/06)

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I know we are way ahead (time wise) but I would like to get this booked since I am starting a new job soon and want to finalize vacation plans before starting new job

There is also a possibility that I could book summer bay?
Any thoughts on this property??

Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Suzy V

Vistana would be my choose hands down. Not that Parkway is bad. We will be at both this year.
Vistana is much larger. Choice of 9 pools, Lots of activities for kids and adults. Much nicer grounds and security.
I would pay a little more to go to Vistana but you would not go wrong with other. Same reason for Vistana over Summer Bay.
We have stayed at most timeshares in area at one time or other. or have toured them.

If I book Vistana orOrange Lake (another one I have been looking at) I would have to book an RCI extra vacation (through a friend who is an owner).
If I book the vacation village at parkway, I could simply book it on my own (through Skyauction).

Although Orange Lake and Sheraton Vistana seem to offer so much more (pools, activities), I like the convenience of not having to involve a friend to book it for me.

I hope I still have some time to play with , since we won't be going until December. I just hope I don't lose out on any of these places for my dates. They all look like great places.

Thanks so much for your opinion on this.

Stayed at Vacation Village last May through Skyauction and loved it. Check in takes a while, and if your not interested in the time share presentation, make sure you say no at check in (they reserve your spot for one before you get your parking pass).

Nice place and very easy to get to DW.

Hey Local Girl;

I've stayed at both and like both alot but for different reason.

Both Vistana & VV@P - in the 1 bdrms do NOT have a Jucuzzi (well not in the 1Bdrm that I stayed in at VV)

I preferred the units & furnishing at VV@P, but I liked the grounds/pools/activities at Vistana better. Hockeymom has stayed at OLCC and really liked that.

The little amount that I know about your family: I would think you'd probably enjoy the Vistana better. "nature girl"

Wendy I've been wondering where you've been. Sorry to hijack thread!

Thanks for all the input on this.

Wendy, when you stayed at VV at parkway, were you in the one bedroom with a kitchenette "B" unit, or the larger "A"unit (with the full kitchen). It is my understanding that the "A" units have a jacuzzi bath tub and are also very large (for a one bedroom unit).

I have been researching numerous places and IMHO, any of them would be great for us.
I like VV at parkway for the fact that I could book it through Skyauction on my own. If I go with OLCC or Sheraton Vistana I would have to involve an RCI friend, who would in turn book it as an "extra vacation" for us.

Yes I was in the "B" at VV@P. I got both through Skyauction. The Vistana does come up it really depends when you want to go. One draw back that I see for you at VV is that it is like a high-rise apartment complex and the pools are all the same. There really isn't alot to do at the hotel...no "gardens" or ponds or paths around the complex.

I really like it there because the we spend ALL are time at WDW and it was close to WDW and cheap(for the week) and the condos were absolutely luxurious  :cloud9: which really “does it’ for me.

 Marilynn- I've been working 2 jobs (60hrs) a week :bitelip:- More money for WDW trips!- Got to fund this addiction some how!

Thanks for all the info. We are looking for a mid December check-in (for one week) , and then off to the beach (Siesta Key) for two weeks after (I already have that condo booked).

When do you think in 2006 would be the best time to find a good selection of Skyauction ready set go inventory for a mid-Dec check-in?

60 hours per week? WOW, good for you.

Hey Suzy, we stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Resort in 2002 and were very impressed....lot's for the kids and adults to do, including a lot of planned events...and lots of pools...we had a 2 bedroom (including a loft)...never been to vacation village at parkway, so I can't compare the two :confused3

and Wendy...great to see you back...I was so worried that you deserted us :teeth: ...actually, Sherry told me you've been VERY busy.
