Sheraton Safari room request?

We are staying at the Sheraton Safari on Thursday before moving on to our timeshare. Is there any area we should request a room in for the Sheraton Safari or any other comments people have about this hotel? Can we walk somewhere for supper? Is the breakfast buffet good/worth it? Thanks all, Deb

Stay off the top floor of the building that has the registration desk on it.

We were in a room on that wing and they have several conference rooms on that floor.. They spend the night taking down and setting up these rooms for the next days activities...lots of noise as the push the carts of dishes and stuff down the hall to the service elevators.

Just don't have breakfast at the Sizzler next door - it is so bad. The mexican restaurant down the street is great - think it is Chevy's. Be sure you join the Starwood/Sheraton frequesnt guest program - they can bump you up to a better room.

The breakfast buffet is great! We loved the food and it is a reasonable price as well (kids 10 & under are free, but the last 2 yrs they didn't charge for our daughter, either was 12 our last trip).

The Orlando Ale House gets very good reviews and it is literally across the street (just behind the gas station/convenience store) so easy walking distance.We didn't eat there, but we had planned to because of the good reviews I'd read. Across Palm Parkway you will find Cici's, Olive Garden etc.

I second the advice about Sizzler. The breakfast was disgusting!

Thanks all. DH has the preferred guest card; he also has the Starwood Credit card which is why we are staying there - using his points. The mexican sounds great! Will probably also have the buffet in the hotel. Looking forward to the pool on Thursday afternoon! Deb
