...thoughts, reviews?

Sheraton Park? I think there is more than one Sheraton in the area...

I often stay at the Sheraton Anaheim and I like it. They have a dedicated shuttle that leaves every half hour on the half hour from the hotel, and every half hour on the quarter hour from the park. It's nice to leave the car parked (although they charge you $10 oer car per day for parking.) I normally stay on points, so I can't tell you about cost comparisons. I do however, like the hotel.

We are staying there next week and there is a group of about fourty of us. Overll how is each individual room? Lots of space? sleeping arrangements?

Let me see. . .the rooms are pretty big. There is plenty of space for luggage and for spreading out. I would think 4 to a room would be comfy enough. The bathrooms are a bit small, but who cares about that. The hotel has a nice pool area and plenty of hang out space in the lobby. The grounds are beautiful.

Having to take a shuttle is a bit of a hassle, but the shuttles are prompt and we have never had a problem getting a seat.

I have only stayed there for points, but staying there definately did not detract from the experience. We much prefer the Grand Californian, but just cannot justify the expense any more.

I agree, the rooms are large but the bathrooms are small. There is a coffee maker and empty fridge in all the rooms. I think you should have a nice time, it is a lovely hotel.
I think there is a sticky at the top of this board that has some pictures of the rooms.

this is the link to the SA thread, some of it is 'older'. But it is still good information.

This looks like an easy walk to the DLH and that end of DTD..is it?? A frien and I have booked it with hopes of making the Destination D event which is held at the DLH.
I am VERY out of points so the VGC is out.
What kid of points are you guys talking about?

The Anaheim Sheraton is across the street from Small World, on the back side of Disneyland. It is really too far to walk. The Sheraton Park, which is the one I think you are talking about, is on the other side of Disneyland, not too far from the Disneyland Hotel.

By points, I mean Starwood Preferred Guest points. I earn them on my American Express.

Sorry for the confusion.

Now I am confused and need to go find maps..thank you.

ok checked aps and more confused..(why does Google Earth have a hotel logo and then it says Steakhouse 55??)
so..what is the closest hotel on the backside of the park, by the DLH..in other words the closest walking distance to DLH..not the park.
Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites? Could that be it? My friend saw a PLACE on the Super Shuttle drive and that is what we are trying to find.

I think you are right that it is the Holiday Inn on Walnut. Walnut is the street behind the DLH and the HI is in the same block as DLH, just on the north side of M&F. According to Google maps, it will take you about 12 minutes to walk from the HI to the front of DLH (0.7 miles). A friend recently won this hotel on priceline and said it was okay.

We love the Sheration Anaheim and have occasionally walked to DTD from there, but it is not a quick walk. Again Google maps says that it will take about 21 minutes to the DLH, although the distance is only about 1.1 miles, but more streets and parking lots to cross.

Best of luck -- Suzanne
