Sheraton Anaheim to El Capitan Theatre?

Hey all,
Firstly apologies if this is in the wrong area, but I wonder if you can help?

Does anyone know how much it would cost for a cab, from the Sheraton Anaheim hotel, to the El Capitan Theatre??

I can't tell you an exact amount, but a cab would cost you a fortune. We drove about an hour last time. Would it be doable to rent a car for the day? That would be way cheaper.

Darn - we cant rent a car due to a lack of license!! lol. However, is there any public transport option? I would love to take a trip over - is it worthwhile an expensive cab ride to catch a movie there etc? Bearing in mind that we are from the UK asnd may not get another chance to come across?

Unfortunately I have no real idea about public transport options. We always had a car or I had a friend picking me up.

The only thing I know is that there is a Metro station right across the road from El Capitan. But how to get to the nearest Metro from Anaheim, that I can't answer.

In a trip report I read lately someone mentioned using one of those limousine services for a trip to Hollywood... I'll see if I find the link for that. That does sound expensive, but it would still be cheaper than a taxi depending on the number of people in your group.

I personally wouldn't pay for a taxi. Limousine maybe... But taxi definitely not. There's a lot of other "definitely do it" experiences in Disneyland where you can spend the cab money on.

You can take Metrolink from the Anaheim or Fullerton train stations to L.A.'s Union Station, and then take the Metro Red Line from there to the Hollywood/Highland station. The Metrolink train fare includes the Red Line fare, while Amtrak fare does not. You can get to the Anaheim station via ART, or a cab. Note that Red Line also stops near Universal Studios.
