Shelley Duvall has died

I know she was well known for her role in The Shining, but she will always be Olive Oyl to me. Loved her in that movie, and Robin Williams as Popeye. RIP.

Loved both movies. My kids used to watch her children's show.

She had a difficult life full of struggle. Hopefully she is at peace.

It really took me by surprise. We were heading to a hotel a couple of nights ago and DD17 excitedly shared that it was her birthday. We were heading out today to allow for housekeeping to come in and she blurted out, "OMG, Shelley Duvall!" I mentioned that she brought up her bday a couple of days ago and DD told us she just passed. I know it really took its toll, but she was great in The Shining and she was a perfect Olive Oyl in Popeye. RIP

Diabetes is a vicious disease, that is what killed her according to the news.

I was so shocked to see how she looked in her later years.

I remember watching Shelley Duvall's fairy tale show as a child and one of the most beautiful episodes her show did was of The Frog Prince where Teri Garr played the princess and I think Dudley Moore provided the frog's voice and then played the prince as a human and Robin Williams played the king and that was where I discovered The Frog Prince and I was amazed how Shelley Duvall made such wonderful versions of fairy tales in a marvelous but funny manner. I wonder why we don't see shows like that for children today because it would be great to watch
