I admit upfront that I'm transportation-challenged (read: embarrassingly ignorant ;)), so please have mercy on me if this question ranks in the top 10 most silly questions asked on the TB. :o

This fall I will be roadtripping through the following states: SC, NC, WV, OH, PA, MD, VA, GA and FL.

I am considering acquiring some pre-paid gas cards, and was wondering which one (or more) of these three would best suit my traveling needs: Shell, ExxonMobile or Citgo.

Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Thank you! :)

Being from SC and having family in the Texcao/Shell business...my vote is for Shell. I know there are a lot of stations in the South.

Do you have a major credit card? The three oil companies will take at least Visa and Master card if not more.

Thanks for your replies. :)

Yes, but we have always paid cash for gas when traveling, and/or used gift cards given to us as gifts.

I asked because I'm considering how to "spend" points I've earned via a Rewards program, and was thinking of getting some gas cards. I just didn't know which ones would be best suited.
