Shelburne Murray Hill in December

My Mom, Sister and I will be visiting New York in December.
We'll be staying at the Shelburne Murray Hill apartment hotel
in Manhattan

We'll be staying on points. Has anyone stayed at the Shelburne
Murray Hill? If so, what did you think of the hotel.

My son, DIL and grand-daughter stayed there last year on points and loved it. Thought the location was convenient and the property very nice. Have a great trip!!!

We stayed there last year with my DD and several of her friends ...it was perfect. Huge rooms, very helpful staff, kitchenettes in the room, easy access to everything. They upgraded us to a larger suite, which by NYC standards was huge!

We stayed there this past summer and enjoyed it....we go to NYC often and stay, but this was our first time using points and staying at the Shelburne. We had a one bedroom suite which slept 4 people. Small galley type kitchen, living room with pull out sofa, and seperate bedroom. The hotel is sort of in a residential area, but close to Grand Central Station. we enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle of the Times Square area. The hotel used to be apartments, that they converted.........some people that were living there when the place changed over to a hotle still live there....I thought that was interesting tidbit from the front desk clerk!

I just reserved SMH not on points but paying cash instead (much cheaper and it's not on the DVC list anymore anyway). It's nice to hear good things about the place, I read quite a few positive reviews on travelocity as well and for $160 a night you can't beat that. I cancelled my reservations for Milford Plaza, that place was going to charge me 199 a night and believe me that is asking plenty to stay there!

WE stayed there a few years ago not with DVC .
Location is great.... walking distance to everything or a short cab ride.
The hotel is clean and the staff is very helpful, the size of the rooms are good for NYC.
