Does anyone know what the opening date for SheiKra at Busch Gardens will be? It''s supposed to be May and I will be in Orlando for the first week of May and would really hate to miss this ride.

I'm there for the 1st two weeks of May so hoping that it will open by then. Testing of the ride did begin on the 1st of April... take a look here www.bgtguide.com

Just looked the link. That site has rumors it wont open till May 20th! aaaargh

Oh I didn't see any dates when I looked, that means it opens a week after I leave too, feels like Rhino Rally all over again (that opened a week after my last trip)!

Isn't there anything to hold on to when you ride??? EEEKKK. We are going to Busch Gardens in July and I am not sure if I will ride this.

I am so looking forward to this ride! It looks amazing! We will be there June 11th to the 25th so should be all go by then. A ride here in the UK has a 90 degree drop like that but not as big, only one and no way near as long as the whole ride, its called Oblivion at Alton Towers theme park.

Oblivion is brilliant. Its short but one of my favourite rides ever. The feeling when you hang over the edge is unbeatable. My wife likes all the intense rides even more than I do and I know she will be bored at WDW so I was really hoping we would be able to get on this ride. At least we have Montu, Hulk, and Krakken to look forward to.

I was there this week and they said opening was May 20th. This looks like it will be a killer coaster. A lot of coasters say their drop is straight down but Sheikra's 200' drop looks like it actually goes in a little from a straight 90 degree angle. The climb is steeper than most drops. The 138' underground and dive drops will work to defibulate the intitial heart attack. This coaster is awesome and will rival the existing triple crown of Hulk, Kraken and Montu.

We thought the same thing. It does look like it goes in a little. I was surprised to see how long the ride was. I think the previous, big 3 will continue to rival each other. Sheikra looks like it's in a league all it's own.
