Sharli & Shane's Wishes Wedding 12/1/13 WP/GF

Ok, everyone! I'm ready to do my TR! We only stayed one night at Disney and I totally forgot to take photos during the PS.

So, one thing before I start. I know I've posted a generic photo of the bridesmaids' dress, but thanks to the FB page, I can't remember if I've posted the necklaces or the sashes. Anyway, a little background on the necklaces for new readers. I bought a necklace from Etsy, hated it and decided to make something myself. Turns out I don't know how to finish a string of beads. :rotfl:

I dropped them, along with my necklace (after giving up on it), off at a bead shop so they could finish them. I went last weekend to see how they were coming along and they look great! I'm so excited and hope the girls like them too. These have been a labor of love for the bead shop. They are really having a great time putting everything together. When I went to look at the progress, one of the ladies asked to see the dress the girls will be wearing. I happily showed them. They kept asking to see more, so I happily shared. There was a customer who came up and said, "Oh! I wanna see!" So I included her. She eventually asked if I had someone following me. I said no. She explained she meant for a magazine article or something. I said no. She said, "Well, someone should be." Told me she worked with a production company and went on about someone following me to document my wedding planning. :lmao: I swear people are crazy. There are a lot more interesting weddings to follow. DF and I got a kick out of it. So, back to the necklaces. I don't have them back yet, but I'll post another of the final product. They will look a little different because I had them change out some of the chains and I did different bead combinations on each, but generally, this is what they will look like. I have no idea what mine will look like, I hope they finish it soon! :dance3:

Originally, the sash was going to be encrusted. I ordered them that way, and I did get them that way, but when I put everything together I decided I didn't like the way it looked. The blue sash is so bright that it looked really off. So I decided to turn them over and use the plain side. They will be wrapped around the girl so the tag won't show, like in the photos.

Ok, on to the TR!

We went to bed late and got up crazy early (I am definitely not a morning person). Our flight was at 7:30 am and I still had a little packing to do. We got to the airport early because we were flying an airline we'd never used before, Spirit. We don't like this airline. They charged us to check our luggage ($50, I think), they charged us to sit together ($35 each. Yes, that's each), and if you don't check your luggage and it's not within their guidelines, you have to pay $100 to check it. No thanks. Sidebar. We took a cab to the airport, at 5am it's still dark. DF decided to walk through the grass to get to the cab. Bad idea. It wasn't until we got to the airport that he discovered that he'd stepped in dog, well, you know. He was not happy about this. Neither was I, after all, I'd have to sit next to him. So I asked him, "Do you have anohter pair of shoes?" He said he had flip flops. So I said, "You need new shoes anyway, why don't you just wear the flip flops and when we get there we'll buy you new shoes." He liked that, so I dug his flip flops out of the suitcase and tossed the gross tennis shoes.

After getting inside, we tried to print our boarding pass, which, why bother because you have to check your bag anyway, but we tried. This didn't work because DF's debit card number had been stolen less than a week before and he didn't have a new one....an attempt of a $109 gas charge from Italy was the red flag....that's Italy the country, not Italy, Texas like I'd originally thought. :sad2: When the boarding passes didn't print, we just got in line. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. We finally got to the ticket agent, who was very nice, we got our boarding passes and started off to security. We got in line at the security check and I look down at the boarding passes. At this point, I should tell you that we have a stop in Houston, so we should have a total of four boarding passes. Nope. We only have two. So, I think ok, no big deal, we can go to the ticket agent at the gate and get the other one. My eyes focus on the names on the boarding passes I have. DF's name. On both. I looked at him and said, "They didn't give you a boarding pass for me." He promptly looks (if the tables were turned, I would say it was for good reason that I looked at the name again. DF and I have very close looking names....in fact the first three letters are the same and he often mistakes my name for his. :rotfl: ), now we have to go back to the agent and get my passes. We cut in front of the line, I'm sure people thought we were rude, but I didn't care. The agent apologizes and we're on our way back to the security check. We get through and I'm in dire need of coffee.

Ok, so, I've been on a (practically) no carb, high protien diet. I'm not allowed coffee, well, that's not entirely true. I am allowed black coffee, if I want something in it I can only have 4oz of skim milk and 1 packet of sweetner, pink, blue, or yellow, not regular sugar. Boo. But I had my regular...just a smaller size! Tall, sugar-free, vanilla, soy latte. Yumm! I was like this  for hours. LOL I was terrified the flight would be delayed or something crazy would happen because I scheduled my hair and makeup trial for the same day. Never. do. this. ever. It is completely nerve-wracking! We got to Orlando, got a rental car and were on our way to Disney!

iphonepics683_edit_zps7557c905.jpg

DF was as excited as me! So we got to Disney just fine. We got lost on property. I'd never been to Pop Century before, I've also never driven on property before, so this was all new to me. After a few U-turns, we found the hotel. When we checked in I told the CM it was DF's first trip and that we were there for our planning session for our wedding, she promptly took out her button basket and handed DF a 1st Visit button and both of us Just Engaged buttons.

iphonepics718_edit_zps101c1f81.jpg

After checking in, we finally made it to our room (we also got lost looking for the room  )! And we were only 10 mins late for my appointment!! My trial was with Priscilla from Beaute Special. She is super sweet, very talented! DF changed into his swimsuit (talk about planning ahead) and headed down to the pool which caught his eye while we were looking for the room. I washed my face. Priscilla and I gabbed while she worked on my hair and makeup. It was really relaxing. I'm going to have her do something a little different with my hair. Here are a couple of photos of her work, they're not the best because of the lighting in the room, but I figured they're better than nothing.

Makeup:

Hair:
iphonepics689_zps7e2ad34d.jpg

Ok, on the makeup photos, what you can't see is the intense beautiful color. She used pink, blue and purple and blended them all together. I love the makeup, if I changed anything it would be to have the pink more dominant. The hair is where I want to make a small change. She put the clip in extensions in and did one low ponytail and then worked all the hair up to that. When you look at the hair directly from the back you get the illusion I was looking for....a faux hawk. Actually, it wasn't until we'd gotten home and looked at my picture that I realized I needed to make a small change. What I want her to do on the day of the wedding is two ponytails, one just below the crown of the head (like if you pulled your hair straight back on the sides), and then a low pony like here. Then cover both ponytails with all the hair. This will create more of the faux hawk look I'm going for. On a side note, looking at this photo....I don't know how she managed to get all of my hair and the 14" extensions up into this tiny little bun, but she did it!

Oh, I'm also going to be cutting my bangs. They are way too long and drive me nutso bonkers....after they're cut, they will look more like my profile picture....a little shorter, like this:

Holiday2010005640x360_zpsdb381406.jpg

After the trial, I took my hair down (but not out) and washed my face so DF wouldn't see, then I headed down to the pool. His phone had died in the three and a half hours we were doing the trial, so I had to go find him. LOL He was sitting under an umbrella. It was after 6 and we were both really hungry. We went back to the room so he could change and then we went to eat....I took some pictures of the towel creations in the room while he was changing.

We were so hungry that we just ate in the food court at the resort. But I had to snap a picture of DF in front of the POP sign! While we were waiting for our food to cook, some of the cast members broke into song and dance.....they did the hustle. DF enjoyed this immensely.

iphonepics695_edit_zps949b6d1e.jpg

Then, since DF wants to save all the parks and everything Disney for our honeymoon, we were off to the beach. Not only has DF never been to Disney, he's never been to the east coast! So, for him, going to the beach is really just a way for him to put his feet in the ocean! Growing up on the west coast and being in the Army, he has gotten to dip his toes into a lot of major bodies of water, it was the Atlantic Ocean that eluded him. Off we go to Cocoa Beach!.....or so I thought.

Remember DF getting in the cab? Yeah, we needed to find him some shoes. It was already after 7:30 and he wanted regular shoes to wear to the planning session the next day. So we drove around trying to find a mall or somewhere to buy shoes. Actually, it's not so much that we couldn't find a mall or store, but the highways in Orlando are not like the highways in Dallas. In Dallas we have 354643546654 exits and ways to get off/on highways and practically everything is accessible from a frontage road. Not the case in Orlando. So we drove around. And around. To the point that I was incredibly frustrated. Since his card had been cancelled, I had to reserve the rental car. I failed to make him the driver. Epic fail. So I had to drive or the insurance would be void. Well, let me tell you, after this little trip to find shoes, I didn't care! I told him I wasn't driving any more. He makes me nervous, but then he's telling me to make illegal lane changes and to turn when it's too late. UGH! I hate that! So who ended up driving to the beach? Um, yeah. That would be me. We got to the beach around 11pm, got out, he got to put his feet in the Atlantic and we hung out there for a while taking a few pictures. It was a really beautiful night, full moon and all.

I posted a couple on FB, but when DF tried to take a photo of us, I think he deleted them from my phone, so I only have one....aaaaand I look like I'm high. I'm not, I swear. You can see the extensions are still in my hair, but all the curl has fallen out.

iphonepics710_edit_zpsfe30f736.jpg

We drove, ok, DF drove back to the hotel and it was definitely time for sleep! We'd been up for almost 24 hours.....Oh! But when we got back to the room this was waiting for us!

iphonepics716_edit_zps23740f42.jpg

DF wanted a picture with our gift:
iphonepics717_edit_zps4c522618.jpg

So then we were off to sleep!! Finally! Up next...our planning session!! :cheer2:

This post will not be nearly as picture heavy as the last.

When the alarm went off the next morning, I was not ready to get up! I was still really tired, I had an excruciating sinus headache that started the night before, and I felt like I'd pulled my calf muscle so my leg was really stiff, so stiff I could barely walk. I was in great shape for our planning session!! BUT I was also really excited! So I sucked it up, took a Claritin and some aspirin, stretched my leg out, and started getting ready!

We got lost trying to find the Grand Floridian and then the Wedding Pavilion. Can you tell we're both directionally challenged?! :rotfl2: We were a few minutes late, which is why I didn't get the obligatory front door or waiting area photos. But I was so happy to meet Jamie and Jessica that I didn't really mind. We went into one of the meeting rooms (the back one on the left, don't know the name) and began our session. We basically went over everything in the planning kit. I'd taken my copy out so I could follow along. We went over a more detailed timeline and we talked about overall feel for the wedding, I want it to be colorful (obviously), modern, clean, fun.....but still romantic. I pulled out some fabric swatches to show the colors of the bridal party. We talked about where we would be staying, where the wedding party is staying, officiant, photographer, bridal party (especially since I had an adjustment to mine), transportation.

Then we began to discuss the ceremony. What we may need for that, sand ceremony, music and the staged exit. Of the exit options listed in the planning kit, my first choice would be the petals, but I wanted to know if there were any other options that were outside the box. When Jamie and Jessica suggested confetti cannons, we got our first major response from DF. I don't think they got the suggestion completely out before he said, "No. No confetti cannons! I know how much that costs!" He shook his head and just kept repeating, "No confetti cannons!" :rotfl: This turned into a running joke as the session went on...it was truly a funny moment. We decided on streamer poppers. I think this will work fine. I really just want something colorful for photos. Would I love to do something fun like sprinkles or fruity pebbles, sure....but I also understand why they don't allow these things.

After deciding on the poppers and getting DF's ok on those, we moved on to the pre-reception and reception. We went over some of the choices for the menus, but most of those items we had on the tasting menu, so I said we would have a better idea at that point. We discussed the bar options. DF and I decided to go with BOC. Jamie asked which bar package we wanted and I said I wasn't really sure. So she handed me a book with the options. DF is easy when it comes to alcohol because he only drinks Bud Light. I am a little more high maintenance though. I only drink mixed drinks, with, usually, top shelf liquor. So I looked at the options and decided on the Signature package which comes with Absolut vodka. DF leaned over and looked at it just as I'd looked at the prices per drink. I pulled the book closer to me and said as I closed it, "Don't look at the prices." We all laughed. :rotfl:

We discussed table seating options, would we be using escort cards or place cards? Well, we want to do Mickey hats for everyone with their names on them, so those will be the escort cards as well as favors. They will be placed on a table outside the pre-reception room and they will have the table number as a tag attached to one ear. Then we talked about the cake and how we'd like it to look. We're going with the Mickey Wave cake:

photo_zpsdf7f8f5e.png

We are, however, requesting some changes. We want it square, off-set tiers. We are doing different colors on each turret and we will have different color Mickey heads randomly stamped. I have also requested 3 rows of crystals at each tier base instead of the ribbon. I'm really excited to see the cake....I'm even more excited to eat it! But we'll talk about that later.

I think this is when Elizabeth came in to discuss our floral and decor options. She wanted to see my dress, so DF was excused. At this point I pulled out several photos. Pretty much all the photos I've posted here. We went over mine and the girls' bouquets. I must confess I'm a bit of a sad panda. While I am getting my main obsession, the rainbow roses, I'm sad because pretty much everything else will be out of season. Boo! I honestly can't tell you one flower, other than the roses, that she named or wrote down. I am a little anxious to get my floral estimate because I'm going to have to look everything up. I did say I wanted the bouquets wrapped in the same color each girl is wearing and they will have the hidden Mickey crystals.

We moved on to the boutonnieres. I started to tell her what we wanted when she realized DF was not in the room. Ooops. :rotfl: As she walked out to get him, I said, "Eh, he's fine. He probably found a corner and is playing on his phone." Yep. When they came back in, she said, "You were exactly right!!" So, for the men, we'll have the rainbow rose wrapped in the same color ribbon they are wearing. Our moms and DF's grandmother will each have a wrist corsage, his grandmother will have yellow flowers, his mom will have red, and my mom chose light green. They suggested pink to match me, since DF's mom will match him, but my mom doesn't do pink. She has strawberry blonde hair and, even though she could wear it, won't. You should have seen her face when I asked her if she would like pink flowers. Priceless. Continuing with ceremony floral, we will have two medium sized arrangements on either side of the alter with our sand ceremony set up in the middle. That was pretty much all for the ceremony and personal floral.

What was funny was I pulled out a table setting and said, "Ok, I kind of stole this from the website." When I pulled it out, Elizabeth said, "Oh! I did that!" I said, "Perfect, this is what I want with different centerpieces." We will have white table under and overlays, white chair covers, 7 or 8 different colors for the bows on the chairs, the napkins, and the napkin ties (more bows). None of these will match. I want everything to be completely random and mismatched. For myself and DF, we will have black bows on our chairs. DF requested a red napkin (high maintenance :p ), I said I didn't care. We will have black chargers that look like records. They're pretty awesome. DF wasn't completely sold on the chargers. I explained that it will make the table look really nice and make it so you can see the plate, otherwise it's a white plate on a white tablecloth. I illustrated this point with the table setting in the room. He got it, and was then also sold on the chargers. The floral arrangements on each table are going to be what I always envisioned....only bigger. They are huge square vases and will contain lots of different colorful flowers. This is the photo Elizabeth seemed to be drawn to:

centerpiece3_zps87e1ceeb.jpg

I'm hoping she adds the succulents into the arrangements, the more I look at them, the more I like them. She did also have everything printed out from my wedding board on Pinterest. From those items, she was drawn to the ombre/rainbow arrangements...like this one:

centerpiece2_zpsc3902aa5.jpg

She was kind of sad when I went with more of the first option for the tables. When she remembered we hadn't gone over our sweetheart table, she got really excited and said, "Oh, we haven't gone over the sweetheart table.....OH! we haven't gone over the sweetheart table!!!!! Can I do the rainbow/ombre for your sweetheart table!?! Please!" She seemed so excited that I couldn't help but laugh. I looked at DF and he looked at me. I turned to her and said, "Sure. Yes." She was so happy, and I really love this idea. Another way to set our table apart from everyone else's and give a little more color.

After that we took a break. So, I will break here too.....I know I've left some stuff out, I will go back and talk about some of our other choices. Up next, THE CAKE TASTING!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!

I LOVE your purple/pink makeup for the wedding!

I hope I am as lucky as you to get such a nice floral planner. Elizabeth sounds like such a sweetheart.

Thank you! I really can't even describe the beautiful colors she used for my eye shadow. Elizabeth was awesome. We loved her.

So, in my last post I said I'd forgotten some stuff....I'm sure I've forgotten a lot actually, this stuff is all jumbled and most likely out of order.

First, I forgot to post my picture of the alligator we saw! It could be a crocodile, I'm not really sure....either way, it's definitely a baby!

iphonepics703_edit_zps97310e3f.jpg

So, other things we discussed with Jamie and Jessica, before Elizabeth came in, were having an electric guitarist to play during the ceremony. He would be decked out like Slash from Guns 'n' Roses, or something similar. DF thought this might be a good idea for the pre-reception, so it went on the BEO (but there's still no chance of getting that confetti cannon. :p ). Then they suggested a new dance floor. It's really pretty. White with lights in it. And not raised where a box lights up, which is what I was imagining. They're little pin lights.....imagine the board or fabric they use in theater settings, dark with points of light so it looks like stars. Yeah, that's what this is. We "ooohed and aaaahhhhhed" over it when Jamie showed us the picture. It went on the BEO too. With the DJ, we get a lighting package, so we will have a castle gobo with fireworks on either side and I've requested uplighting that will change colors every so often. We told them we (well, DF ;) ) wanted the tulle and lights over the dance floor, we want Mickey and Minnie, and a caricature artist. The last four items are things that DF and I had been discussing before the planning session and will most likely stay. I'll have to see how much the other things will be, but they will most likely get cut.

It's SO easy to get carried away when you're there in the moment. But it's also SO much fun to dream....

So during our little break, DF and I had a chance to meet Rev. Kevin Knox. He was there officiating for a couple and will be performing our ceremony. We had a brief introduction, went over a few details and, since I had a copy with me, we went over the ceremony. Sort of an informal rehearsal, he called it. We really liked him and knew DF had made a great choice!

When we went back to our room it was time for cake! The tray was brought in and I think I was looking at it like I was a small child on her birthday.

iphonepics719_edit_zps3afac78d.jpg

Jamie went over all the flavors of everything....we had a lot to taste, you can't even see everything in this photo. Off to the side there is also red velvet cake. DF carefully looked at all the fillings and quickly turned over the white chocolate mousse and bailey's mousse. We knew we wouldn't like these flavors. DF needed a little prompting, but soon he was all about it! I must say, it's a little strange to be eating cake, one, as my first meal of the day, and two, in front of people who are not eating. I guess you just get over it. It was at this point that Jamie asked us what kind of music we like for the reception, so they can match us up to a DJ. I said, well, I really love anything by Madonna and DF chimed in with "and Michael Jackson". What do you want from us? We grew up in the 80s. Then DF said, "She really likes....." and he looked at me, "*NSNYC." I think I may have blushed a little. I turned and said, "Yes. I love them." I won't bore you with the story, but we'll just say that I kind of forgot about the cake. Which for me is huge because I'd been looking forward to the cake tasting for weeks! (Don't worry Lauren, I do remember stuff!) Jamie, Jessica and I really bonded over music. Ok. *NSYNC. I'm sorry. I love them. We love them! Eeeeee!!!!!!

Alright. Sorry. Back to the cake. Here is my opinion on the cake. I'm not a fan of yellow cake in general, it just seems boring to me. The other flavors, most people have had, these are fairly standard. I did really like the almond cake. It has the lightest almond flavor, very tasty! The real flavor comes from the fillings! Here are those, these descriptions also have DF's opinions:

Amaretto Mousse: DF's favorite. Really nice flavor and texture, complimented the cake well. (It was tasted with marble, almond and chocolate.) "Perfectly delicious" is what DF said. :p
Bavarian Cream: Rich with weird after-taste. Honestly, I don't remember too much about this one.
Raspberry Mousse: My favorite. I liked that the tartness of the raspberry was balanced with the sweet. Not too sweet, not too tart.
Peanut Butter Cream Cheese: Heavy on the peanut butter flavor. Couldn't taste much cream cheese.
Tropical Fruit Mousse: I really liked this one...it was a very close second for me. But DF didn't like it quite as much. It was very light, but paired with the wrong cake flavor could be too sweet. I would have liked it better for a spring or summer wedding.
Amaretto Mousse w/Almond Crunch: DF doesn't like nuts in his food....weirdo! LOL I liked this one, but I think there may have been a little too much of the almond crunch. I'm also not really sure I like crunchy cake....hmm.
Strawberry Mousse: Good, not too strong, nice balance. I personally don't like strawberry, but DF said it was good, but not his favorite.
Caramel Milk Chocolate: Strange texture, more chocolate than caramel. If you melted Rollo candies, this is what it would be like.
Butter Cream: Standard, typical butter cream...it's what they put under the fondant to make it stick.
Creme Cheese: Standard, if you've had red velvet or carrot cake, you've had this.

So, here is what our cake will be:

1st tier (largest): Marble cake with Amaretto filling. This was DF's choice and the one I thought would please most people (though, we didn't do anything crazy).
2nd tier (middle): Almond cake (surely, you could have guessed this would make it!) with Raspberry filling.
3rd tier (top): Red velvet cake with Creme cheese filling. I know, this one is boring.

After the cake tasting (and teeny moments) we went to look at the Wedding Pavilion. They had *just* finished a ceremony and were in the middle of taking photos. They were cleaning up, and I didn't want to take photos while it was a mess. Next it was off to the food tasting!

We got to the GF and strolled around. We made our way to the convention center and managed to catch the tail end of a reception.....so, of course, I didn't get many photos of spaces because everything was in the middle of being either torn down, or set up.

Here is one of DF: This is where our Mickey hat/escort cards will be.

Here is the obligatory photo of the event screen with our names:

And one final photo of us just before Jamie and Jessica walked up:
Planningsession018_edit_zpsae61d414.jpg

The girls showed us around, they showed us where our pre-reception will be and then our reception room. Both absolutely beautiful! Then we were off to the kitchen for our tasting! I didn't take photos of anything, but be assured everything was supurb. Chef Orlando walked us through our tasting menu, which consisted of a lot of starches. This happened because DF doesn't like mashed potatoes, so we had to find something else he liked. Here is a list of what we ate, and just so I don't sound redundant, everything was delicious.:

Mini Chicken Empanadas with Chimichurri Sauce: These will be served during the pre-reception.
Roasted Artichoke and Goat Cheese Bruschetta: Will be served during the pre-reception.
Parmesan Crusted Chicken
Beef Filet with Merlot Reduction
Creamy Goat Cheese Polenta: Starch on my entree.
Roasted Fingerling Potatoes: Starch on DF's entree.
Dutchess Potatoes: Starch on guest entree.
Cinderella's White Chocolate Slipper on a Castle Silk Screen Plate: We may be using a small version of this for our dessert party. AND I actually got a picture of it! It's so pretty:

iphonepics721_edit_zps85ab410b.jpg

As you can see, we loved everything! We are using all of it. We'll have a duel plate and everything else I noted above. We are also having the seasonal fruit and mango yogurt at the pre-reception, a salad course of ceasar salad, and an intermezzo. I'm super excited about the intermezzo, we are doing the ice slipper with different color lights. They are going to dim the lights just before they come out to really get the effect.

After we finished with the tasting, Chef Orlando gave us a gift!
iphonepics722_edit_zpsf715c30a.jpg

And Jamie took our photo with the welcome sign in the kitchen:

They walked us out of the kitchen and we said goodbye. We really had a great time at our planning session. DF and I are both extremely happy we went.

After the planning session was over, we needed to go find our hotel (off property). We looked and looked for our reservation. DF ended up calling Travelocity only to confirm that it hadn't been booked! I managed to find a hotel and book it. We went to Universal Studios the next two days. I love, love, love Harry Potter and *had* to try Butterbeer. It's so good, frozen is the best! And Spiderman was the best simulated ride I've ever been on. Here are a few pictures.

That's pretty much it! We had so much fun. I think the trip made us even more excited for our wedding and honeymoon!

I finished the dining itinerary and we've decided on a design for our "guest book". I'll probably be painting that this weekend. I'll post photos of the design later and then the finished painting. Probably the most exciting news is we got our floral proposal today! I'm so excited. I'll share that next time too. Alright, I'm off to watch a little tv and then bed! Hope you all have a great evening!

Okay I'm going to forget something I know it! The make up looks great, but I think it will look even better with more pink since that's the main color for you. The hair is awesome! I love it!
Ugh, don't get me started on spirit. There is a spirit like 45 mins away, in Atlantic CIty. I flew them once because my friend got a $9 flight from their club. But I had I pay almost three hundred dollars in fees. Ridiculous! Never again. I will pay the extra money to drive to Philadelphia and take a nicer airline!
We get lost every time we drive on property too! I blame Disney, it's so confusing!
Glad you and Shane made it to the beach in one piece!
Okay, I love the Mickey wave cake. I never thought about chasing the turret colors on the topper, so cool! And the flowers are so pretty. I really love the ombré one, so I am so excited to see what Elizabeth comes up with.
Random note, surprisingly, when we saw an alligator or crocodile I wasn't that pumped. I was super into the armadillos! I saw a baby one and it was adorable! Keith looked at me like I lost my mind...anyways!
CAKE! Yes!!! Your are my official cake tester! Thank you for all the detail! Keith hates all fruit but apples :( so I think I would lose the raspberry battle! I am glad red velvet was good, because that's my favorite cake. I like it with buttercream so I'm glad that tasted as usual. Almond cake, well I jus may leave out the fact it's almond. Lol. He probably won't notice anyway! He really likes Baileys though so maybe I will through that in as a filler :)
Next time you post a status update I'm going to ask about confetti cannons to see if Shane responds lol.

Told you I would forget something! HP world is amazing. I didn't love the butter beer that much, I preferred the pumpkin juice lol. And I loved Moaning Myrtle in the bathroom! I was laughing hysterically when I walked in. It does need to be larger, I'm so excited for the expansion as well. I am glad you guys had an awesome trip :)

While I cannot comment on everything (I'm at work hehe), but I WILL say that I'm a HUGE NSYNC fan!!! Omg!!!!!!!!! It would be priority if I had a DJ!

Plus... NSYNC was playing on my pandora station just a few min ago!!

Yeah, I think I want the pink to stand out more since that is my color. But I will have all the colors in my bouquet, so it wouldn't look completely out of place if I left it alone.

Really? He hates all fruit? Even when it's sweetened and put between cakey goodness? I would sneak the almond cake, he won't notice the almond flavor. And even if he does, just tell him, "At least it's not fruit." ;) DF told me, when I was asking for his input, said he didn't like fruit with cake.....I said, "Really? Because I'm pretty sure it was you that chose the cherry flavor filling and are telling me that you liked all the fruit flavors." He laughed and said, "Oh, I did pick all the fruit flavors!!!" The Bailey's would probably go really well with the yellow cake too.

Ooh, the pumpkin juice was too sweet for me. Yeah, I laughed while I was in the restroom and heard Myrtle. When I came out I asked DF if she was in the men's restroom too. I wasn't sure he would pay any attention or know who it was, but he said she was!

YAY!!! Another *NYSYNC fan!! We are planning to play some of their songs during our reception....and I told DF that we HAVE to play Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays. :cool1:

ummm..hey. Somehow I missed these latest updates! I love your makeup and I can't wait to see what your hair will look like!
I didn't get a planning session since I was an Escape bride, I talked to Tanis a LOT on the phone, but would have loved to have met her.

It sounds like you both had a great time at your PS!

Can't wait for the next update! Btw...I haven't seen anything about your ADRs! I didn't see anything on FB either. Have you booked anything yet or know what parks you'll be when? Just wondering if we'll be able to bump into each other at all (besides me yelling at you if I should happen to see you in your ears!) ;)

First, the necklace looks gorgeous, and I think your whole bridesmaid look is going to come together so well!

The hair and make-up look phenomenal! The eyeshadow colours are just blended so beautifully! Hearing that it is even more intense and beautiful in person - wow, it's going to be a showstopper on the wedding day!

Sounds like your planning session went really well! You have a lot of really cool options added in there. the dance floor sounds awesome, I've never heard or seen anything like that before!

I love the flower arrangements you are going with! And I am so happy too that you're doing at least one of those ombre/rainbow arrangements, I love that so much. Your wedding is going just look so amazing!

Your cake flavours sounds delicious (that raspberry filling is soo tasty!)

I am so jealous of your food tasting (I've probably written that on every PJ I've read, haha!). The menu sounds super tasty! And the intermezzo, I'm jealous of that too! Did I say yet how gorgeous your wedding is going to look!

Anyway, loved the trip report, sounds like you guys had a fabulous time!

Thanks! I'm getting really excited to see everything come completely together. We had a great time! I want to go again! We haven't made any ADRs yet, but we will this weekend. We wanted to wait until six months out from when we leave, that way we weren't calling so many times. I have a tentative itinerary and am posting that tonight! Let me know if you see an opportunity and want to meet up! :)

Thanks! I'm really excited about the bridesmaid's looks, I love their dress...kind of wish I'd gotten one for myself. I'm super happy with the makeup, even if we end up leaving it exactly as the photo. The planning session was a blast! We had so much fun with Jamie, Jessica and Elizabeth. I'm really happy with all the flowers. When I was told everything I requested was out of season I thought I was going to cry, but Elizabeth really did a great job! On the flip side, I think Elizabeth would have been very sad if I told her not to do the ombre/rainbow centerpiece on our sweetheart table. Oh, I can't wait for the cake.....or our dinner....all the food really.

It reads like you were there for your planning session about the same time I was. Jamie and Jessica are the planners for my wedding as well. I did not get to meet Jessica. I also did not get a photo from Mickey & Minnie. I am a tad jealous. :goodvibes

Hmm, not too bad!! I hope this is relatively easy to read. I posted the file on Facebook. What I hadn't caught when I posted it is that she has down 40 for the quantity of Mickey hat favors, and really we'll only need 38. We will have the bride and groom ears. So, I adjusted this version accordingly. There was also a cell that wasn't adding correctly, so I fixed that as well. This total should be correct. Let me know if you have any questions!!

And now, the ADRs! We will be attempting to make these reservations starting on Friday. The times are in ranges since DF will be calling because I can't stand being on the phone and he doesn't mind. I asked him to call for the ticketed events first, then we will go back and make the ADRs. I haven't done this in so long, I'm a little rusty! Hopefully it will all work out.

So, that's what our ADR itinerary looks like. If you're at WDW at the same time, let me know and we can meet up!

In other news, DF got an email saying one of our flights had changed and he needed to call travelocity to change flights. He called and apparently our departing flight time was changed and the change would cause us to miss our connecting flight. SOOOO, he had them change the flights to the day before!!! We're getting an extra day!!! AND my favorite part is that we'll be there on Thanksgiving day, I'll get to see the Christmas change-over!! I've always wanted to see this happen. I'm sooo excited!!!! :dance3:

I think that's it so far. I heard from Jessica that they were able to book our rehearsal dinner for the Spirit of Aloha dinner show, just need a change in time from 5:15 to the 8pm show, but that's a minor change. Cross your fingers the DVC construction at the Poly won't interfere with the show. Now we're waiting for our BEO. :scared: When we get that, after the shock and any adjustments, I'll post that as well.

Have a great evening, and thanks for reading!!! :cool2:

Just curious why you didn't do any ADR's on-line? The calling is a pain! I agree! I was able to do my 180+10 online and then had to call for the last few days of our trip. So far, I've gotten everything we wanted except for California Grill which they haven't released anything for yet.

Ok, first of all....IF your DP gets changed I want to be kept in the loop 'cause as I mentioned we'll be in EPCOT that night eating at Teppan Edo and will be around. We might hit Jellyroll's or just stay for IllumiNations, but if you're in EPCOT with your DP, I wanna come stalk. :lmao:

Secondly, although we have a few of the same restaurants, none are on the same day! :sad2: BUT we are going to MVMCP on the 3rd! So, if you go that day, we'll have to try to meet up at least to say Hi!
I've also booked the Luau this trip as Eoghan has never seen it, so I'm hoping it doesn't get cancelled. I did hear unofficially from Tikiman that the last one will be Oct. 1. So, definitely have a back up option for your reheursal dinner and keep in the loop with your planner on it.

Can't wait for you next update!princess:

I'm loving your plans! It sounds like you are going to have such a fun wedding!

We will be there a month after you as we are getting married on the Dream sailing Jan 19-23! Just a quick question, do you remember how much the tolls were going to Coco Beach? If I remember correctly it's the same way to go to Port Canaveral.

If you haven't been to MVMCP before you are going to love it. It's one of my favorites.

Looking forward to more

Jodi

Holy ADRs, your trip sounds amazing! You've got so many fun things planned, I hope you're planning on doing a Trip Report!

As for your floral beo, it really sounds like you are getting a lot! It's going to be so lush with all the beautiful colours and flowers! Spirit of Aloha sounds like so much fun for a rehearsal dinner! Fingers crossed it works out!

Just curious why you didn't do any ADR's on-line? The calling is a pain! I agree! I was able to do my 180+10 online and then had to call for the last few days of our trip. So far, I've gotten everything we wanted except for California Grill which they haven't released anything for yet.

Some of them, particularly the really nice restaurants, require a credit card number to book and can't be done online.

I told Keith the rumor of Spirit of Aloha being over for construction! He was super bummed. I actually think he was more upset about this than I was! He had his heart set on it.
Anyways, so jealous you get to see the change over...pictures please!! (I know I ask a lot of you, pictures, cake report, etc!)

Your ADRs look great. I have always wanted to do Breakfast at Tusker House. Everyone raves about it! I think you picked awesome places o take Shane too, especially since he's never been! You have a good mix of characters and fun and adult dining :)

Some of them, particularly the really nice restaurants, require a credit card number to book and can't be done online.

Umm...I'm not sure what restaurants you are referring to, but you can book the signature restaurants online as well as character breakfasts online and they all require a credit card number.
ie. I was able to book Chef Mickey, O'hana, Monsieur Paul, Akershus, Artist Point, Jiko, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Bluezoo and Narcoossee's. i even got BoG which I am thinking I had to leave a credit card number for, but I could be wrong.
The only thing that needed a credit card which I couldn't book on-line was the Luau, because it is pre-paid. Also some of the tours and experiences are pre-paid, so you need to call for those.
