Just had to share my excitement that we will be in Japan in 10 days time (or thereabouts). Only 2 days for TDR unfortunately but had to juggle Disney fix with actually seeing the country and cater for hubby and daughter! I will be posting a trip report with pics on return and if I am good-food porn (we normally demolish most of it then think bugger!) We will be in Kyoto for 5 full days joined by our adult daughter for our last day then in Kanazawa on the western coast for 3 nights then Tokyo and TDR for our last 4.5 days. Since this is only a short trip I might actually finish this trip report. Have garnered lots of useful info as always from the boards and have a plan of attack for Disney Sea especially to maximise our day. Stay tuned!

Have a great trip! I'm getting excited for my trip next month!

I can't wait for your trip report. We're going to a lot of those same places during our trip in the fall (and yes, only 2 at TDR for us too). I'd love to hear of any restaurants you love, too. We're foodies here!

Thanks guys-will try and get a report up as soon as I get back before I head into a mad period at work so any hints I have I can share especially with you BelleBway before you go as its much the same timing-or you might be gone before we get back? I presume you have studied the couple of good reports that are on here like Lurkyloo's and the guy whose name I forget.

This is actually my 4th trip to Japan/TDR... but I did read a lot of trip reports including Lurkyloo's which was a lot of fun, and which definitely gave me some ideas! I also reviewed my photos and re-read my own travel blogs from my previous trips. I wish I had more time, but this time I'm just going for about a week and splitting it between TDR and Tokyo.

I will definitely look forward to reading your report- even if it's not up til after I leave. :)

Now if I'd paid attention to your siggie I would have realised that! You should be giving me last minute advice.....Happy travels:yay:

Not a problem. :rotfl: Err, last minute advice? Embrace everything that is different, smiles transcend language, and try the various TDR popcorn flavors! :rotfl: (I am currently in mourning for the Cappuccino flavor but am open to trying new flavors)

One of my favorite TDR memories was when I was sitting and waiting for some parade and a little kid- toddler, really- was hanging out next to me. I smiled at him/her and the kid smiled back... and it didn't matter that we came from opposite sides of the world. (I know some Japanese, but at that moment, language was irrelevant)
