Hi

This is a multipart question

1st.
We are 2 adults and 1 child in our party and we'll check in at RPR for one night
Friends of ours might join us for one of the 2 days we get unlimited express for
I was thinking about adding them to the booking, paying the $25pp extra for each additional adult so that they get unlimited express even though they won't actually sleep in our room

May I add them after the booking is made or do I need to book for the full party size (under aph rate if that matters at all) ?

2nd
Do they need to be physically present at check in in order to get the room keys or can they join us later in the day or even the next day ? And f they do join the next day wil they still be able to print the express with their room keys the day after check in ?

3rd
I have a passholder photoconnect starcard. If my friends get a regular photoconnect card from a photographer, can I add their card to my photoconnect account and get their pictures, rides inclueed ? and does it have to be done on the day or can it be done the next day, or does it have to be done before leaving the park ?

Sorry I suddendly feel like a newbie. I've been around universal quite a few times but first ime meeting up with friends for one day
Thanks in advance

1 & 2. I just did this. Had as 5 night stay and changed guests in the room 3 times. The third time we had 3 adults on the room but, the front desk didn't ask which were adults and which were kids. I was prepared to pay the extra adult fee but was never asked and didn't think about it at the time. Go ahead and put them on the reservation when you check in if you know they will be joining you. You will get the keys for everyone then, everyone does not need to be present. In fact, I am the only one the goes in when I check in and I get the room keys for all. You will be absolutely fine!

3. I have the photoconnect AP card but, I don't think you can add the other account. I've never tried that so I don't know for sure though. Just get each others login info and you will be able to access both accounts.

Thank you
For 1 &2 ... How to put it without opening a can of worms ... So here it goes : since the 2 additionnal guests will not actually stay in the room, and granted that it will be unknown until the very last moment if they'll join us, how okay would that be for me to list them as kids on the booking even though they're adults ?

I don't know if I'm comfortable with doing that as I'd feel I might be cheating the onsite hotel express system.
The $25 per additionnal adult are supposed to be for room occupancy and they won't actually occupy the room, and express are supposed to be ''free' with a room booking.... Makes my head spin as I don't want to pay more the necessary but also don't want to be unfair or cheat
On the other hand if I pay $50 and they decide to stay at disney's that day, then if they keys have been issued, I've paid for nothing

Is there anyd ifference between an adult and a child room key, or with the unlimited express passes, or are they all the same ? i've looked on my previous room keys and expresses and nothing seems to be diffdifferent between my son's and ours ... But who knows what shows on the TM's handheld scanners ?

Don't flame me, I'm not trying to justify cutting corners for $50, I just would like to know if it's ''acceptable'' and have all bases covered

As for #3 I was merely asking about adding a photoconnect card's number to my photoconnect acount, just as it's possible with the mouse's photopass
Not merging or accessing 2 accounts but having 2 person (let's say me and my wife) use 2 photoconnect cards (the ap starcard and a regular, photographer issued card) at separate locations ( we do split up when DS can't ride a ride) and have both cards add pictures to the same account

there is no difference in adult/child hotel room key.

it lists the guests name, hotel and dates of stay.

ep photo pass also lists the above.

They got them at RPR. I let the staff know before I came down to orlando and again at check in I would be having multiple people staying on different nights. The majority never actually stayed the night at the resort. Some were at WDW and some were family staying at a Marriott property. My uncle has worked for Marriott for a long time so we get some good perks. I was not intending to cheat Loews out of the extra adult fee. I just happened that way. The TM did have to remove previous guests from the ressie to let the new guests get express. Besides being you first platinum, I will only stay at RPR or PBH. Although we enjoy PBH, the staff at RPR is the best. They make the entire stay excellent! I spent about 30 mins with the resort manager on my last visit detailing all the fantastic things the staff does to make our stays great. Including returning the cash I left in the safe....that was in another thread I started.

i agree, rpr is the best for me.
also a plat level and can't risk not staying at one of the 2 hotels to keep my status.
the $100 food/bev credit is sweet.

i think i was confused on how the add ons to your ressie got the photo ep if they didn't have the card made up.

but, i'm blonde and i do get dizzy on things i read...:rolleyes1

Well, I rarely read what I've typed so I'm sure it's confusing sometimes!

join the blonde club......

i'm so blonde at times, i kill myself........:rotfl:

You can add extra photo connect cards to your account. It's the same as giving cards to multiple family members or if you forget your card in the room.

Sounds like for $0.00 (if added as a child) or $25 each, your additional guests will be getting Unlimited Express Pass which if they do not stay in the room would cost a lot more if they were to buy them from the parks.

Personally- I would make your friends the offer of being added to your reservation, tell them the fees involved, and let them pay the $50 if they choose to do so. That way you can make that generous offer but not be out any money if they choose not to do UO after all.

Follow up question

Are the room keys marked A For adult and C for child or do they only bear the name of the guest, or both ? I know they used to have the A/C mention but that was when keys were used for expres IIRC

^^^^^^^^

Yes keys are still marked A and C plus childs age. Then it will be blank at the end for room charging or a N for no room charging.
