Sharing FastPass+ and split stay Magic Bands?

We are a family with 3 older and 2 younger members. The older will ride the faster rides and the younger will not. We are doing a split stay, so we will all have two sets of Magic Bands. I understand that the bands are all connected via MDE, but does anyone know if I could use both my Magic Bands on the same day in the same park? What I'm hoping to do is make the three FastPass+ reservations for each family member, but then pass around the younger kids' magic bands so the older members of our group can maximize their rides. Since we'll each have two magic bands, is it possible to give my husband and son the second set of magic bands of my two daughters for the FastPass+ reservations? Or can only the bands scanned at the entrance of the park access the FastPass+ reservations after entry?

Magic bands are like the keys to your car. If there are 2 Magic bands on one person it is like having 2 copies of your car keys on one key ring - you can't get into 2 cars with them, just the one car that the keys were made from. Your kids will have 2 Magic bands that access the same 3 FP+ per day. The FP+ per day is based on the person, not the bands.

So yes, you can do it. But the kiddie rides lines get really long, too. Are you sure you want to?

I'm just tossing around possibilities as I start planning out the Fastpass+ we want to reserve. We're going to be there the slowest week in January, so although there will be lines, I'm hoping they won't be too terrible. Thanks for your reply linzbear

Just keep in mind that you can get most FP+ day of, with a few exceptions - Seven Dwarf Mine Train (38" height, about age 3), and meet Anna and Elsa from Frozen. Also Toy Story Midway Mania (no height requirement) and Soarin' (40" height, about age 4) can be hard to get day of. So the big fast rides are usually not what you need to book 60 days out, it's the extremely popular family rides that are.

Excellent point.

Fastpasses are based on the ticket, not the band. So, even you have two bands, that person will still only have three pre-booked fastpasses per day. If you want the older kids to use four of the fastpasses, while the younger kids only use two, then, sure, you could give the older kid one of the younger's extra bands specifically for fastpass access.

Any idea how child swap works with FP+? Do I need to get FP+ for everyone who is riding? Or just for those in the first party?
