My brother is going to Disney in the summer and I will be going in September with my family.

Is there a way in which we can buy tickets that can be reused and cover both our holidays thus saving a few pounds?

Park tickets are now linked to finger print. I'm not sure if there a way around this, because if the finger print doesn't work, they'll ask for identification.

Maybe someone else has had other experience.

It used to be that you could get away with this but like ian said, now they take your fingerprint on entry to link it to the ticket so there is no way you could do this anymore, sorry.

I thought as much but wondered whether there were some arrangements you could make to enable you to do this within family.

It's a shame because from a disney perspective as a family (and DVC member) we are commiting to holidaying at the world, but I cant blame them for using this technology to combat touts.

Unfortnuately you can't do this anymore.
I saw a family stopped who were in line with us March 2006 at MK - they had to go buy two tickets for two of their party.
There was a bit of shouting and ugliness which Disney beautifully dealt with.
Sorry can't be more helpful

We have annual passes and on our last trip in September My DH thought it would be fun to try each others to see if they work!! Yes he's a little strange. Anyway, they worked just fine, finger prints and all. He then made me do this around five or six times at different parks.

we went in Jan 06 with 21 ultimate tickets and we both went in with each others tickets (we are a little strange like that 2!!!:rotfl: ) we then brought them home and the following week my dad used them with my 7 year old neice - when you out the ticket through it wont let you in but give the cast meber a smile and say it worked yesterday and they just reset them

I read a while back finger print works on all tickets used together within the family/group, so for eg. if 5 tickets are used together the 5 users prints are recognised on each ticket, cant see how this is possible but I am not good with technology.:confused3

My in laws asked if they could do this, there idea was for one to go in with the ticket and then pass it to the other one, for them to get in, we said this would be a no.

I know this is off the topic, but I don't think it's fingerprints they take.
The machine measures the distance between your fingertip and your knuckle.
I'm sure someone will correct me on this though ;)

Vizeman, you are right, at the moment Disney use geometry scanners which take a picture, identify a number of predetermined points and measure the distance between those points.

However Disney have said they will soon be replacing these machines with biometric scanners, which scan one fingertip only. Not sure when this is happening, but it should help reduce wait times as biometric scanners are faster than geometry scanners. :snail: :)
