Sharing Deluxe Dining Plan and other questions

Hi,
We (me, husband and son) are planning a January trip with my mom. We will be in different rooms and will book packages separately. We will probably go with the free dining plans, but we are planning to stay in Pop Century.

1. We were planning to upgrade from the QS dining plan to the Regular plan to get table meals. It still looked like a better value to do this, rather than go to a moderate. Am I missing something?

2. My mom will book a separate package. I know we can't go without her to meals, but if she gets the Deluxe plan, she can use it to order appetizers and extra quick service meals and snacks, right? It looked like it might be beneficial if she got the Deluxe and then we could share the extras. Does that make sense, or again, am I missing something?

Thanks!

If she is on her own reservation, her KTTW card will only allow her to order one meal at a time. Credits cannot be shared unless in the same room regardless if you are booked under the same reservation or separately. The appetizers could be shared if dining together, but she cannot place an order for 4 CS meals for all of you to eat.

To us upgrade and stay value is better than any room discounts. then I am in NO WAY suggesting you do this but on your room key all the meals are on them but you only need to use one card and it is up to you but you can use all CS in one day if you want and all TS in one day and take all snacks in one day. but WDW has suggested spreading it out for whole trip at some each day as that is the ideal way of course...:thumbsup2 if your Mom say got the deluxe she would have 3 TS and can use them and her snacks any way she wants as well. the deluxe is good if your going to do dinner shows and several signature meals. but doubt she can use a TS for counter service meals...not sure as we used to dinner shows. if my sister and I are in MK and my BIL is in AK and he wants to eat a CS it just takes it off the card and we can eat at MK and same thing just comes off the card and at end of day will show the three meals off the card count. IMO would be better she took what you do and then just pay for appetizers as you want them :thumbsup2

Thanks! I priced it out and I do think the deluxe is probably not worth it for her or us as a group. It would be if she was free to eat more ts meals, but since she'll be sticking with us, a lot of the value would be wasted.

If she's eating all (or most) of her meals with you, then she'd certainly be better off on the DDP rather than DxDDP. Even if she has to dip into OOP for a meal or two (or parts of a meal, e.g. app), she'd still be coming in under what she'd spend on the DxDDP itself. Totally agree.

She'd have to spend ~$33 per night of her stay above and beyond the DDP in order to make DxDDP a better deal, and I don't see that happening unless she's eating another dinner somewhere each night ;).
