Ok who went to the preview of Cars & Crush's coaster?

Who actually got to try Crush's coaster? could you tell me what it was like because we gave up waiting in the end due to all the problems.
By the time we gave up with this the queue for Cars was long and as we were travelling back that day we gave up with that too.

Apart from that we had a great time:yay: , its just annoying:mad:

:yay: I would love to hear more about the event and about the problems during that special day.

How frustrating!! :headache:
Glad you still had a good time though

We queued up for our tickets & wrist band at Donald's Desk, was totally organised and very efficient. We were given the 12 - 1pm time slot. We got over to Toon Studios & headed for Crush's coaster, in the queue a tannoy was put out they have technical difficulties & the ride should be ok soon. A CM was walking through the queue explaining it shouldn't be long etc. After a while another message came across that it was back working, a few seconds later they retracted that message. From then on they were only speaking in French. Many people were leaving the queue, in the end they said we had a choice of staying and seeing if they can get the ride going or leaving but you couldn't come back due to the timeslots. We gave up after about 40 minutes by this time Cars was really queued so we gave up. This was on top of Aerosmith having problems after we went on it.

I can accept they may have problems but was not happy we couldn't come back if we left the queue.

Other then that we had a great time.

Oh, how disappointing, Nikki. :grouphug:

Glad you enjoyed yourself inspite of this.

Hi!

I was at DLRP this weekend and had a wonderful time. :wizard:

To get our Tickets and Wristbands for the Shareholders Preview event, we had to queue at Donalds Desk, but it really was well organized and it only took about 15 minutes.
Then we went to the Disney Studios to the free breakfast for Shareholders. The queue was so long that we decided to have a normal (paid) breakfast later. So we directly went to Crushs Coaster, where dream annual pass holders had a preview even before the shareholders were allowed to get in. That was our chance to enjoy the new coaster with a waiting time of 30 minutes which was ok for us.

The coaster itself is nice. It is far from perfect because there are hardly any decorations inside the hall but the darkride part at the beginning is really good. There are projections and audio animatronics. :yay:

After the ride, we headed over to Disneyland Park and enjoyed it so much. The new once upon a dream parade is wonderful.
We were very lucky, a friend of us had a different experience:

He got the Shareholder Wristbands and Tickets and decided to have the free breakfast at the Studios, while waiting for the Shareholders preview to begin, because he did not have a dream annual pass. After 1 full hour of queuing, all he got was a coke, because there were not enough pastries for all the shareholders. What a shame! :sad2:
Then he went to Crush's Coaster for the Shareholders Preview. It was so crowded that he had to wait 1,5 hours until the ride broke down and he had to leave without the possibillity to come back and ride it later.

I guess we were so lucky because we decided to do the dream annual pass preview instead of the Shareholders preview. While I understand that a new attraction can always have technical problems during a preview, I do not understand why the free breakfast was so bad. All Shareholders had to sign up in advance, so Disney new exactly how many of them would come to the event.
And for all the people wo could not ride the Coaster because of the breakdown, Disney should have given out some tickets which would have allowed them to come back later. Or at least a Fastpass to do another attraction to compensate (or make up for? what is the right english expression?) the long waiting time for nothing.

Just my 2 pence, Wuzefelix

DH & DD queued for Crush's Coaster from 12:15 - 1:45 (90 mins!!) and then gave up, later they found out it was going to be out of action until 5pm. I saw them testing it and got a photo of one of the ride vehicles as it whizzed passed (passengerless!!). I'll post up the photo later today if l get time.

DS and l went on the Cars Race Rally Attraction - the queue moved quite slowly, there are just 12 ride vehicles, which can seat 4 people each. I think we queued for 25 mins or so. DS (age nearly 4) went on it again with again DH & DD - he really loved it, l think it was about 30-40 mins they had to queue. I'll post more about the attraction (with photos) when l get time later.

I totally agree with what you said in the last paragraph & I have emailed them and told them this, after all we have invested in the company. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed my trip but I went specifically to preview the rides.

Wuzefelix post shows how 2 people can have a very different experience at the same day. ;)
