Hi

We are flying to CDG next month and it looks like a shared private shuttle to disney may be the best option for us. There are 2 adults, an 11yr old, 3yr old and 1yr old travelling. Would this be classed as 5 passengers or 2Ad + 2Ch with the little one on my knee?

Which company is recommended and is it easier to book online or telephone.

Thanks for any help, its much appreciated.

Kellie

i have booked online twice with rs transports and have had very good service both times. my dd was 22 months the first time and was counted.

I noticed some people mention BS is this just a typo or are they 2 different companies:confused3

How does it work out price wise in comparison to the VEA shuttle?

BS transports and RS transports are sister companies, so you can search and book with either :).

If you have young children, when you book, you should let them know the ages of the children travelling in your party, so they can bring along appropriate child car seats for each child. All babies and young children will be counted on private/shared shuttles, as they all need their own car seat.

For a party of 4 or more, you will often find that a private/shared shuttle is the same price, or even cheaper, than getting the VEA coach from CDG to DLRP hotels.

Kellie, I've always found booking with rs/bs transports by email to be very easy, and have always had prompt email replies from them too.

hiya

we use isprestige find them great, the baby will be counted too as they provide car seat and will need there own seatspace for it.

Have just been looking on RS looks quite easy to book online. They are quoting only 4euro more than VEA bus which seems brilliant. I got really travel sick on the VEA last time (I don't do buses very well!) and it kind of ruined our arrival. Got DLH to be greeted by man in short trousers with little gold luggage cart and I stagger off bus green and need to sit on pavement. Very classy:lmao:

One thing worries me though how do you find them at the airport:confused3

They wait for you at your terminal gate exit (ie just after you pick up your baggage) with the name you've booked under on a board :).

I take it they accomodate car seats on the VEA shuttle and TGV train then? I've never booked any of these before so wasn't aware they would provide a car seat if you booked a private shuttle. I came on here to ask for a little help and didn't expect to be shot down

I can understand that Kellie, as not all countries in the world have the law requiring babies to be in car seats in cars yet. In some countries, its not even considered.
However, in France, they have very similar laws to the UK regarding car seat provision in private vehicles for babies and young children :).

I can also understand what you meant, on plane/eurostar even taxis in this country you put children under a certain age on your knee.

sorry
just found it hard to believe you would put a baby on your knee, in a vehicle that's all !

:confused3

really?! :(

taxis round here have carseats (for older ones stage 2 / 3 )

I wouldn't dream of taking a baby in a car without a seat!

really not worth the risk

trains are obviously different, as don't even have seatbelts and are allowed to walk around etc

"In a licensed taxi or licensed hire car, if a child restraint is not available then the child may travel unrestrained in the rear. This is the only exception for children under 3, and has been introduced for practical rather than safety reasons. You should always think about ways to make sure that a child seat is available."

Just found this guidance. I have never known a taxi in our local area to have car seats available. Any time I have had to travel by taxi I had to take my own out of my car.

 wow that's shocked me ( esp the way some taxi drivers drive! )

we must be lucky here then I guess,to have carseats in some taxi cabs
