Share your weirdest or worst injuries at WDW

In 1992, on my honeymoon, we got stuck on Splash Mountain for about a half hour. While we were stuck, I managed to turn myself kind of sideways. When the ride got going again, I didn't straighten myself out. We got to the big drop, and when we hit bottom, I felt a painful snap in my left shoulder. And I couldn't move my head without intense pain. I wouldn't go to the ER, but the CM's did convince me to go to an immediate care center. Turns out I sprained my left trapezius muscle. Left with a next brace (to help support the weight of my head) and a prescription for muscle relaxants. We only had like 2 days of our stay and I didn't feel like doing much of anything else after that. The flight home was awful. And once we got back, nobody believed me when I told them I hurt myself on a ride a WDW!

We never seem to have horrible things happen at WDW but we have taken 10 Disney cruises and almost every one of them someone was injured or had a freak illness.

Our 2nd cruise my DS10 got Norwalk on the last night, after we attempted dinner and had left all our luggage outside the door. We had only one change of clothes and unfortunately it was not enough. It was a horrible night and when we finally had docked and cleared we got off immediately. We went to the car and the battery was dead. We were driving back to NJ that day. When someone finally agreed to jump the car we decided to not turn it off the entire 16 hours it took us to get home, stopping at almost every rest stop along the way. The poor kid. I had it the next day it is horrible.

Two years later I went on the verandah at around 1:00 as we were heading back to port from Castaway Cay and felt something on the back of my neck and instinctively grabbed it. It was the size of a small bird and a bit hairy and from the bite mark it left was determined to be a bat. I had to get all the rabies shots afterward.

Can't be too bad I guess, we keep going back and love DCL!

On our trip in April this year, I was using a binder as an autograph book/travel scrapbook. When I was pulling it out at Tusker House breakfast, it cut my leg, kind of like a paper cut but with the edge of the binder. It must have been deeper than I thought because it actually scarred- I think that counts as a weird disney injury. :)

Last year it had been raining during the night, but had stopped early that morning. I went from WDW over to Universal and had on a pair of OluKai Ohanas with very good tread on them. I always brag about how good they do in the rain and on wet pavement. I got to Universal just before opening and was rushing over toward Harry Potter land with the masses. Just as you turn off the main path to cut through Seuss Land the pavement changes. Just as I turned to start that way, I heard someone yell my name. My name is not all that common, so I instinctively turned to glance behind me. When I did, my foot hit the change in pavement and both feet flew up and I landed on my butt and the palms of my hands.:rotfl: Cast Members came out of the woodwork to help me up. I insisted I was fine, just embarrassed, and got up and started to walk off. Just as I took a few steps, I heard a yelp behind me, turned to look, and saw another lady had fallen in the exact same spot I did. Her husband was laughing and asked her if she hadn't just seen me fall in that same spot. She said she had and thought she was being careful, but fell anyway. I went back to make sure she was OK, as did the cast members that had helped me. We found a dent in the road right where the pavement changed that was filled with water. Apparently the edge of both of our shoes caught it just right causing us both to fall. I rushed on over to HP land but about half way there realized my hands were really hurting. I looked down and found my complete left thumb and half of that hand was swelling and turning blue and that the thumb on my right hand was turning blue. I struggled through the rest of the week, went to my doctor when I got home, and found I had sprained my right thumb, pulled some ligaments in my left hand and broke my left thumb.

We were in Minnie's house a few years back and my dd, then 6yo, wanted a pic of her sitting on Minnie's couch. It was completely packed, and there was an obnoxious woman there who had managed to be in every toon house w/ us in every room and she was loudly complaining that there were "too many damn kids around here!" Well, she wanted to take a video of Minnie's living room w/o anyone else in the frame--in JULY. I told my dd to just ignore her and go ahead and sit on the couch so I could take her pic. The lady grabbed my dd by her wrist and yanked her off the couch!!! She looked at me and said, "I don't want anyone in my video!" My dd complained about her sore wrist for 2 days.

I was too shocked to do anything but just get away from her. My mom accidentally-on purpose bumped into her arm to mess up her video. A petty and small victory, but one nonetheless.

Of course we saw her again that day. Going into Stitch, she was furious at how long it was taking kids to get to their rows and take a seat so she started to yell at everyone, again complaining that there were too many kids around so that "people" can't enjoy Disney--as if kids aren't people.
