Share Your FAVORITE Spots at Disneyland Resort!

Hi all!

We're gearing up to leave for Disneyland in just over a week here and I'd love to hear about some of your FAVORITE spots in the Parks!

Do you have a favorite place to relax and people watch? Is there a meal you cannot miss out on? Is there a secret location that doesn't seem to be commonly known?

This is trip #10 for me, but I'd love to hear about beloved places I've possibly missed out on in the past!

we love the petting zoo.. its quiet .. low crowds and who can resist petting a goat or two.. ?
we also like to sit in the town square and just relax ...
love to take a trip round the park on the train.
Tom Sawyers Island .

in CA I enjoy walking through its a bugs life.. its fun to feel like a bug..
sitting on the wharf and people watching.
standing on the bridge watching Mickeys wheel of death..
sitting in Flo's around the corner ..it is very quiet and you can see the cars driving past..

I'm like you, wanting to discover new hidden places and food after so many trips. It's fun to experience a few new things each time we go.

So last trip I finally had a Monte Cristo at Cafe Orleans, that is now on my must eat list, so delicious and can't believe I've missed out all these years. My other must have, at least twice per trip, is a corn dog from the red wagon. Also recently discovered the Mickey cream cheese pretzel which is a great snack to share with someone. Our upcoming trip I want to try the BBQ baked potato and lobster roll at Harbor Galley and the lobster nachos at Cove Bar.

As far as people watching I do enjoy just sitting anywhere along Main Street with all the activity. For a quiet spot, the benches near the baby center/red wagon is a nice place, also shaded if it's hot out.

The Hungry Bear and Whitewater Snacks are two places we enjoy for taking a peaceful break. Also like just sitting outside of Flo's and watching the cars. On hot days we will wander in to the animation building.

At DL I love to sit in the shade by the fountain next to the Haunted Mansion (this is where I once bumped into Captain Jack Sparrow!)...find a bench overlooking the water on Tom Sawyer Island...a flaky cinnamon twist with a latte in the evenings. At CA, it's fun to sit on the benches at the exit for TOT as characters often enter/exit from that area...eating at Carthay Circle is always a "must do" for our family.

I enjoy sitting near the rails at Hungry Bear overlooking the water. Once we saw a family of ducks, Mommy and her little ones, paddling along in the water. It was delightful.

I love Coke Corner for relaxing and people watching. You can get a drink and a snack, sit down and watch the pianist and/or Mary Poppins and Bert doing meet and greets. Being right on Main Street too, there's always a great atmosphere in the immediate vicinity. Even over Labor Day weekend, we never had any problem getting a table.

You guys, I've never had a corn dog!!! They've never appealed to me, but maybe I should give it a go??

At the risk of blasphemy, we found the corn dogs to be exceedingly greasy and tasteless. I ate three bites and threw it away - it was just awful.
A buddy of mine went to the park and said the same thing.
But to each his own.

DS loves watching cartoons in the Main St. Cinema. It's air conditioned and rarely busy and it is a great place for him to chill out when the crowds are too much for him.

If you like hot dogs you should definitely try a corndog. They're so much better. If you don't like hot dogs at all, they may not be for you.

When my son was four he had the best time sharing his corndog breading with a little bird. We'd sat down to eat on a bench just off main street. I'm pretty sure that bird "worked that bench" regularly because he seemed to know food was coming as soon as we got there.

We love to people watch from the Cozy Cone area of Cars Land. It's not quite as busy as some areas, and it has some pretty tasty snacks too.
On our last trip we found a little "waterfall" off to the side behind Pooh Corner. Nice spot to take a break from the crowds.

If you like hot dogs you should definitely try a corndog. They're so much better. If you don't like hot dogs at all, they may not be for you.

We love the secret path and sitting area between HM and Splash. There is a quiet spot between Matterhorn and Autopia that is under shade and relaxing.

We love to eat and people watch on the patio at Cafe Orleans. Their Monte Cristo and Pomme Frites are a must for my family. My other laughing place is the hidden path behind Harbor Galley. I love heading there and seeing people right after the big drop on Splash mountain!

Just to relax and soak up the atmosphere I would have to say Tom Sawyer Island. .

Man, all this talk of sitting and relaxing at DL has me ready for another trip. On our last trip, we went to Tom Sawyer Island and let the kids run free in the tree house/pirate ship area. I found a rock bench to sit on facing the Rivers of America and it was so nice. Watching the Mark Twain go by, seeing the ducks splash around, sitting in the shade....doesn't get much better than that. And if I find that you've taken my spot on the next trip, expect me to politely ask you to get out of "my" seat.

Never had a chance to eat at Hungry Bear - it does sound relaxing, so I hope to try on the next trip.

I'm hoping that the new area around Soarin' has a great relaxing feel to it.

I agree with previous posts: the back side of Flo's (especially in the morning for breakfast) is a great place to sit and enjoy a nice bite to eat and we love sitting on the lower level of Hungry Bear by the water. It always feels so secluded down there. Also a big fan of the path just beyond Harbor Galley where you can see the drop from Splash Mountain, but hardly anyone is ever back there.

I just find out about the hidden path behind Harbor Galley this weekend. I can't wait to check it on our trip! Three weeks from tomorrow!!!

I love the Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. Not quite so much for the show but for the collection of art, models and momentos that are in there. Then there is the fact that the Disney Gallery is now in where the Main Street Bank used to be. When I feel I need to take a break and rest my feet I like taking a ride on the train. And as you're going down Main Street, if you take a right turn on Center Street (a fruit cart is there) is the Test Wall. It is made up of different brick patterns and types that wouldn’t otherwise look strange…..except that they are right next to each other…on one wall.According to legend, this wall was made in 1954 to test different masonry designs around Disneyland park.

At DCA my secret is to enter Carsland from Paradise Pier.
