10 mins ago I had made 36% profit, I have now made a 3% loss!

So if you want to buy any, I'd get them now!

And quick, they have started to rise again, slowly!

Very confused!! Do you have to open account (with Halifax) with £100 before buying? I'm worried that by the time I do this they will have gone up again! It's my own fault I keep putting it off!!

Yes, open the Halifax shareholders account, deposit £100 and then buy 20 shares. You won't be able to buy today, I just checked, with a bank holiday it won't work. Lets hope they are the same price tomorrow for you!

Yes, you need to open an online sharedealing account with Halifax and I can't remember whether I had to give bank details or debit card details so that £100 could be deposited in the sharedealing account. You could always set up the account and then keep watching to see what happens, once the account is open and the £100 is there you can buy quickly when the price is good. Once you have bought the shares, you can transfer out any of the £100 that is remaining.

I have been watching the share price all day, I wonder why it dropped so much, so quickly?

Sorry Rosebug, I think we must have been posting at the same time! Big thank you to you by the way as otherwise I wouldn't have got my shareholders pin :)

It's jumped back up again! It's crazy!

We managed to pick ours up today (got our share dealing account details through the post on saturday, just a bit too late for friday!) Bit annoyed that they'd gone up so much on friday, but we got in at about 10 french time and "only" paid just over a euro from what I had expected on friday morning. Glad we did because they closed reasonably high! Cost us about £104 for 20 shares so not bad considering. We'll make that back on savings just this trip I think ;)

how quickly does it take to go through? would it be worth me doing it for a trip the last week in november?

you'll definitely have time to sort it out for november, it can be done within a couple of weeks, but I'd do it sooner rather than later, as it can take weeks for your permanent laminated shareholders card to come through to you in the mail :).

do you think its worth it for one trip? or does it take a few trips to make the money back?

you need to work it out really - Salon Mickey is free for shareholders and their families, every morning, up to 5 times per month (so free hot drinks and pastries).
15% off at table and buffet service restaurants in the resort
15% off your souvenir shopping at the resort
10% off all your shopping at Disney Stores in the UK
10% off at Earl of Sandwich in the Disney Village
15% off any annual passes you buy at DLP (not so great an offer at the moment because other agents have the annual passes cheaper).

plus occasionally shareholders get good exclusive offers, like the Spring offer ust gone of a free VIP fastpass for up to 4 guests (usually these cost 60 euros per person).

As above, 20 shares for free entry to the shareholders club costs around £100 just now.

So work out how much you're likely to spend in one trip on food and souvenirs, consider whether you'd stop for a mid-morning break of coffee etc (free at Salon Mickey) and see whether its worth the money for you :).

We planned to get ours for one trip and then sell after, but with the shares being so high at the minute i'm not going to risk as if they did plummet later we'd def lose money compared to what we'd save.

Last week to get the 20 shares it was looking like £80 or under now its over £100 x

I've opened account, but think might be best to wait and see if they settle before buying. I was going to buy 20, but now think will just buy 5 and pay 30 euro fee!:confused3

I am a halifax customer - once i have opened an account where do i actually go to buy them ??

I'm definately getting them before we go in dec but not til after we get back from our holiday just wondering though where i actually purchase the shares from ?

i have been on the disney website but assume thats the form you fill in once you have bought them ?

you need a Halifax online sharedealing account (its easy to set up online). You then buy your shares through that account.
