I thought we might share some ideas here - money saving or cute ideas - all are welcome!!

One suggestion is to purchase disposable cameras and decorate them with stickers or a child's name, let them take pictures at the party, and take the camera home to finish the film. I have found disposable cameras at Walmart in the past for only about $1.99....very reasonable!

What have you done or seen done at parties that would be fun to share here??

I have so many, so if anyone has any specific questions, please ask!

I like to order from Oriental Trading. This year (DS's bday is in about 3 weeks!) I combined my order with a friend to shard s/h costs. If you h ave a big order ($60 or more) you can usually get free s/h.

I try to decide a theme early to scout for deals. I like the dollar tree's and also check out walmart and target clearance section.

I go to www.birthdaypartyideas.com to get tons of great ideas. There are often money saving tips on there as well.

I have 5 kids and we always do themed birthday parties and my kids like to have themed "pin the tail" type games for example, we recently did "pin the buzz on the ship". I just get a piece of posterboard and draw whatever I need (the easiest was a building for pin the spiderman on the building) and then print coloring pages or clip art of whoever I need off the internet. For Buzz I printed the coloring pages with Buzz and let the guests color them while they were waiting for everyone to arrive. Then I just put little strips of double -sided tape on the back.

Also to save a little money I don't get character everything, like I'll get solid color plates and cups that match the theme at a dollar store and just get character napkins.

Oh, and no matter what the theme, if the weather allows it my kids always like outdoor scavenger hunts.

my daughters party i blocked off my street and did a mini carnival Oriental trading has awesome cheap games and prizes we also used alot of stuffed animals as prizes we used some household things for games laundry baskets for ball toss slide for car races lots of fun!!

I had this party for my son a few years ago. I blew up balloons and the paper mached them about 1 week before the party. They then made a egg shape. I left an opening at the end and stuffed it with a small stuffed dinosaur then paper mached the hole shut. I then spray painted them white.

At the party the kids could decorate the egg with markers and paint. I also took a small blow up pool that I had and made that into a nest by using crepe paper. When the kids were done decorating them, they put them in there until the end of the party.

The take home gift was the egg and they could crack it open and find the little stuffed dino.

I also made big dino footprints out of construction paper and made footprints coming up to our house on the sidewalk.

It was a fun party and kids loved it!
