Saw one of these at Target (this isn't my photo).

Anyone appreciate the irony of this?

Wouldn't it make more sense just to buy one cold? I mean - there's a cooler 10 feet away.
Then don't buy one out of that display. A great way to let the company know that you don't agree with the advertising is to not purchase the product.

The display itself isn't really much of an issue with me as to whether or not to make a purchase. If I found one with my kid's name I'd probably buy it. However, I just thought it seemed a bit odd that there's a sign talking about a cold beverage with a display without refrigeration.

It is a little funny that they play up the ice cold part on a non-refrigerated display, but maybe they just meant it as a "serving suggestion." ;-)

I will say -- as someone who looked through a *lot* of those displays last year looking for a certain name -- it's much easier to look through the bottles on that display than it is to look through the bottles in the cooler. The ones in the cooler are arranged in chutes, so it's easy to see the name on the front bottle, but not easy to see the names on the bottles that are behind.

I finally found the name I was looking for (my daughter's) on one of those rounders last year. And this year, I found it on the first one I saw this season, which also happened to be on her birthday. She was so excited to have her name on something (she doesn't have a "strange" name, but it's not popular enough to make the cut for most personalized stuff.)

It's easier to find the coke with your name on it from that display. People were pulling all the sodas out of the coolers where I work (when they first came out with this) and leaving them on top.

Yeah - I get that the display is meant to make it easier to search. I've seen that particular display for about two or three years, but not the signs about having a cold one.

It wouldn't bother me. "Ice cold" is just part of the slogan.

The only time I'd care if the soda is chilled when I purchase it, is if I'm going to be drinking it right away, which I generally only do in a food establishment, not a store like Target.

In the posted photo, you can see that there are refrigerated cases, with Cokes in them, only a few feet away near the checkout counter. So if you want a cold one, take it from there.

Apparently, Target didn't get the memo explaining that they need to keep the entire store "ice cold".
