Since I believe most tent campers store or need their vehicle close to them and FW has a one vehicle per site rule how would you handle that if they enforce it and they have when one of our son's came and stayed with us and tried and park his car on the concrete area? We had nothing on the grass like a lot of folks park vehicles on, but it was one vehicle and one towed vehicle per site so he had to move his car up to the outpost lot which wasn't a big deal.

This is an interesting idea since for us we never ever use the sand area behind the concrete pad and could "rent" that space out with proper documentation and payment of the extra costs on our ressie.

My only concern would be you could make either life long friends with basically a stranger or life long enemies.:confused3

I've seen many folks set up multiple tents on tent sites and have several cars back there while setting up. Security has always stopped by and just said make sure you move the extra cars up front when you are finished setting up.

If you bring a plastic footlocker with a lock, you don't need your car at the site

An even better idea -- Anyone going during Dec 1 to 11 that I could 'sublet' from. I'm never there - Early entry commando :goodvibes

I'm going to have room. My grandkids will be with me thru dec 6 but it
shouldn't present a problem. We'll be in the MH.

If you're serious.....let me know...If you don't already have a ressie it might be
kinda tough to get one with all the work going on.

Not really, it's just we have had to add one of our sons to our ressie several times and one time it was after we had got there. This last time no vehicles were involved, but it was $3/day for the extra adult and that got him a room key w/o charging priviledges. If a vehicle is involved they should have an extra vehicle pass so they can park in the overflow lot and not get towed. We're facing the same situation this Oct/Nov with one son maybe w/o a vehicle and the possibility of the second one and his wife with a vehicle if they can't get ressies and are able to get away. I expect both of these to be very short notice maybe just a couple of days ahead of time.

I guess to prevent questions, if one did this the person with the actual ressie could claim the other person or couple/family were in-laws where if the names were different it was because of maiden names. Maybe it doesn't matter to Disney, but I would just want to prevent any issues that Disney might raise.

Disney could care less if you are related sharing a site. That is one nice thing about camping at Disney. Last October we had 4 adults on our site. If we were in hotels, we would never consider sharing and would have to utilize 3 hotel rooms. (1 adult couple, 1 single adult male, 1 married (but solo) adult female). We had 1 tiny camper and two tents on the site.

I know a lot of local state parks and local campgrounds don't allow an extra tent to be set up on a site unless it is minor children, but Disney doesn't care.

The occupancy is 10, with $2 extra per night for adults over 2, period. If you ask, they will issue as many parking passes as you have vehicles.

I would have never thought of this, but it sounds like a great idea kwnancy! :thumbsup2 My hubbie and I are slowly picking up clearance camping stuff so that we can do the two week or more stays in the future. We think of going other places at times and then look at each other like "what are we thinking?" Mickey's house is the only place we can get our fix, kind of like Mousecrack! :lmao:

I think its a great idea... none of my friends like camping really or would ever possibly think about staying at the fort for a disney vacation (to much work) but I've always wanted to do it.... so im going solo tent camping this april for school vacation (i work in a school so I have no choice but to go during vacation weeks) I would love it to share a site it would give me some one to have a least a passing conversation.... so if anyone wants to go in on one for april 18-25 2009 (at least those are the dates i think im going its not completely firmed up yet) let me know!

Jill,

There is going to be a girls only DISBoards Grand Gathering at the Fort around that time. I'm sure there will be folks that would be happy to share a corner of the sand pad with you. If you look back through the threads several pages you'll find it.

Oh thats great I will most definitely look into the grand gathering Thanks!
