Movie release! Do they still offer the new releases in the theaters? It comes out 9/3...I just love all of these!!😄

I’m hoping they do an early release on tomorrow’s cruise. They showed Toy Story 4 early on our cruise at the time. Fingers crossed

How early are the premiers? I sail October 9th and would love to see Spiderman: No Way Home, but the release date is December 17th.

Typically, the PremEARS at Sea are at 12:01 am the day they are released in the US.

On rare occasions, a premEAR will happen earlier in that same night, say 9:00 instead of midnight. But not often.

And, even more rarely, they will show them a day or two early.

I think an Oct cruise is not likely to have a Dec release shown on it.

Unless sony and disney reworked their contract...boo hoo, no spiderman😂 but on all other release it is usually 1-2 days before theater release.

I thought I read somewhere that Disney did rework their contract to be able to stream Spiderman on Disney+. Perhaps they included DCL?

So Black Widow will be kicked out or will they run 4 movies at a time now? I have to think Raya stick around right?

What movies are even on board now? Hoping Jungle Cruise sticks around for sure for our cruise next month.

I'm super excited for Shang Chi too! popcorn::
It would be so nice if they went back to offering a larger selection of movies like during pre-pandemic times. On longer cruises they used to schedule at least four new offerings of varying genres from G rated kid friendly to PG13 horror. The more adult movies screened after 10 or 11p and if there was a new Disney tentpole PremEAR they'd hype it up all day. The day Tim Burton's Alice premiered they screened it in 3D in the Walt Disney Theatre.

We were on the Magic during the premEAR of Pirates 2. It was insane. They coincided it with Pirate night, and I felt like the whole ship was there at midnight at the Walt Disney theater. It was a truly memorable experience.

Luckily the industry has moved away from that midnight showing deal ... typically now you have films shown on the Thursday before the Friday release at 7PM and more recently (Black Widow and Jungle Cruise included) at 7PM and and at 6PM at my local AMC. I think that Disney will probably follow that same type of time frame now but will report this Thursday on what happens. I agree with TinkerMouse that I prefer the more diverse offerings of films as my last cruise felt like only Black Widow and Jungle Cruise over and over. (both good, but have seen multiple times including on the ship)

I'm on this Friday's 3 day sailing. I for one I'm hoping that not only do they show the movie, but it is in the larger Walt Disney theater instead of just showing in the small Buena Vista movie theater.

9/30 cruise. App doesn’t show Shang-Chi but I know that doesn’t always mean anything.

Just got off the Dream this morning! Nights 1 and 3 were BatB during normal evening show times. Night 2 was Jungle Cruise in the WDT instead. They also showed Jungle Cruise here and there in the WDT on the other days. You might be in luck if they follow a similar format!

Alas

If they show it, it will probably be in the WD theater and not the BV one, so might not appear on movie schedule.

Good luck! I hope you get to see it on Thursday!
