My daughter is a college freshman this year at the University of Oklahoma. I am just so excited for her.... she is in the marching band and they are going to get to take an awesome bowl game trip- The Fiesta Bowl. The best part is..... I don't have to pay for it.... The college treats them very well, unlike the very small high school she came from. They are staying at a Hilton, no less.

Anyway, for all you band parents out there... keep them playing!

She will have SO much fun. One of DD's friends is in the marching band at Notre Dame and has been all over the place for games with them already. Last time I talked to her dad they were hoping for a WARM bowl game .

Marching band is a such a GREAT activity for kids!!

Thanks everyone! She is very excited. I just hope she has a great time. The whole band has worked so hard all season and she really struggled for a while being a freshman and in the band..... a lot of new things to figure out! She is pulling a B average... so she deserves it!

We are big sooner fans; lived in Norman for many years and our oldest son was born there. He is now a HS junior and the only university he has ever been interested in going to is OU. We went for a visit last summer (he was in a baseball camp at OU) and it AMAZED me how Norman has grown over the last 10 years.
