Shake Your "Bon-Bon"-Our "Last" Family Trip-PTR July 2011 *UPDATED 7/13*

HEY GIRL! I followed you over from the July thread. I'm loving your PTR! Your "old school" WDW pictures are adorable, Britney Spears is flawless, and those cupcakes look delicious. :thumbsup2

Your family reminds me so much of my own. It's my Mom, Dad, little sister, and I, plus my sister's boyfriend who'll be joining in on the WDW fun for the first time in July.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to hearing more about your trip! popcorn::

Hello everyone!

I, first, want to apologize that I do not have an update for you all tonight. School has been STRESSIN' me out and I haven't been able to think about anything else (even if I would much rather be surfin' the DIS ;))

Just a little bit of what's been up, if ya care. I scheduled this week for my LAST SEMESTER before student teaching. AHHHH! :scared1: I mean, when did I grow up!?! Yikes. Scheduling is a pain, for those of you who don't know, so my mind has been occupied with that.

Also, we are organizing and preparing for our Relay for Life this Friday! I was in charge of decorations and the theme was games, like board games. So...for our educational honorary, I thought it was fitting to to Apples to Apples! Like an apple for the teacher! Get it?! AH, I love it. :lovestruc

Lastly, I started my field for Early Childhood, and I am at a local Head Start! I LOVE it! Those little ones are sooooo cute. But, that leaves me with another project, piling onto the 75 million that I already have. This semester can be over already.

But, it is what it is. I am SO sorry that I haven't posted anything in FOREVER. I PROMISE that I will reply to all of my old and new followers! It means so much to me that you read along, so I don't want anyone getting bored!

I am off to get some more work done and hopefully sleep at a decent hour. Hope everyone's planning is going great! 91 days for us! :yay: :yay:

Here are some pictures to rest your reading eyes! :thumbsup2

This is the small group activity I'm doing! It's just colored water and they can try to make the earth! It's Earth week next week!

This is my family! I know you've seen them a million times in previous pictures..but I think this is a nice one! DTD baby!

Can't wait!

Talk to ya Friday! See ya real soon! ::MinnieMo

Love the cupcakes, they sound and look yummy!

I like to watch Disney movies leading up to a Disney trip as well. I feel it's my duty to educate my sons on all things Disney, and they need to watch the movies! Last week was Dumbo and Tron (original and Legacy), this week I'm thinking Mary Poppins, and maybe another if I can... Have you seen Tangled? We LOVE that movie!

My son is in 2nd grade, and cried on his student teacher's last day. He was sad about that for days. I had no idea he was so attached! I'm sure you'll have the same effect on many little girls and boys!

I saw your title and anything thing that says shake your bon-bon has me hooked.:lmao:

I am just loving your PTR. I love love love the pics. Tell you sister that she looks great in the pics and not to worry.:thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more.popcorn::

And, that warms my heart! Thank you soo much. It makes me feel much less nervous about it all hearing that your son loved his student teacher. I hope that I can influence my kids that much!

Chapter 6 (finally): Travel Day!!

Finally, a real update! Our travel day!

So, we depart on Thrusday, July 14. We are flying Southwest and our flight leaves around 10 and we should get in around 1 o'clock!

So, we are going to hang out around the hotel for the day. Our family LOVES the Wilderness Lodge, and we haven't been there in a while. It will be very nice to explore again!
07trip26.jpg

Also, there is the marina. I love those little boats, so maybe I'll get a chance to do those today. I also want to parasail. That would be too cool! Has anyone ever done that?

Lastly, we are heading over to the Polynesian for the Spirit Of Aloha. I know that I already hit on this, but I LOVE IT! I cannot wait to see it again!
**I didn't mention this before, but for those of you who have seen this many years ago, it had been changed. The story is different from when I saw it as a little girl, and I loved the plot the last time we went in 2003. It was so enjoyable!
I want to go over a little bit early so that I can walk around the hotel. It is soo pretty. It's my chance to experience Hawaii since I won't get there for awhile, I also want to hang out after, maybe catch Wishes or the water parade! I love both, so that would be fun! Has anyone seen either from the Poly?
Finally, I WANT TONGA TOAST! I think that this is where they serve that ever popular toast, and I would LOVE to get some for breakfast the next day. If I can't, oh well...next time..but if I can...:cool1:

Then, we are coming back home and getting to bed because day 2 is MAGIC KINGDOM! We will be getting up early for Rope Drop!! Woop Woop!

Next time, I will be talking about our plans for Day 2! What we all HAVE to do, and some things that we haven't done yet! What are some things that you have yet to do in MK? Anyone want to share?

Until we meet again! See ya real soon! :goodvibes

A little sneak peek at what I must do,

You are making me crave a dole whip!!! Normally, we go at spring break which is this week, but DD is having her wisdom teeth out and DH just had knee surgery - so here we are in this lovely Pittsburgh weather - NOT!! Come on July!!!

You are making me crave a dole whip!!! Normally, we go at spring break which is this week, but DD is having her wisdom teeth out and DH just had knee surgery - so here we are in this lovely Pittsburgh weather - NOT!! Come on July!!!

I constantly crave dole whip! There is a little ice cream shop by where I live at home and they sell dole whip in the summer. On special days I can catch a pineapple dole whip because they normally have mango and orange. But it isn't the same as being in Disney, that's for sure. Just a nice little pick-me-up!
Ugh, wisdom teeth! :sad2: That is no fun...and neither is this Pittsburgh weather! I'm definitely ready for July!!!

We have watched Wishes from the Poly beach many times, since that is where we usually stay. It's a great view from there, and they also have the music piped into speakers along the main beach area, so you hear the same thing you'd be hearing in Magic Kingdom! The Electrical Water Parade is nice to see too! I'm going to miss staying there this time. :( Oh yes, Tonga Toast! Love it! They also serve it in their quick service restaraunt - Captain Cooks. That would taste so yummy right now! Or a Dole whip and brownie...

We took the little boats out for the first time in January. I liked going around Discovery Island and past the old River Country. I had been reading about their history on the Dis and find it very interesting.

I parasailed at Virginia beach and the caribbean. Once was just the harness and the other was the chair. I liked them both but the harness was cool cause you were dangling.. I liked when they dipped you in the water and then send you back up again..

What is tonga toast? Is it like a french toast?

One Man Disney Movie

This is just a friendly link to one of my favorite videos online! Just thought that I would share it with all of my favorite DIS followers :goodvibes

I would love to do an update right now, but I am going to hit the hay! A busy couple days ahead, but I'm almost done!

Here's a little insight as to what I did this past weekend! :cool1:
DSC05902.jpg

POPs! Disney Music in Concert! I'll tell more later, but it was FABULOUS! :thumbsup2

See ya real soon! princess:

Great PTR so far!

Yes, Dole Whips are a must do!

The Polynesian is to me what Wilderness Lodge is to you, you'll love watching the Electrical Water Pageant from the beach!

My first must-do in the MK is Pirates pirate:. I love doing that right after rope drop, the pavement is still usually wet in Adventureland from the previous night's powerwashing and I just love the atmosphere. Pirates is in my top 5, even with the Johnny Depp-ing of the attraction.

DD PARTY!

Happy Sunday DISers! I hope everyone had a fantabulous weekend!

It has taken me forever to update, but I finally have a short blurb about my exciting weekend. Me and my sister have been planning to have a little double digit party, and it was this past Saturday!! :yay:

We also watched the Lion King! Does anyone else ball when Mufasa dies?! I literally sobbed. :sad1: :sad1: But, on a happier note, this is one of my favorite Disney movies. I think that is something I would like to do before we go. I want to watch those classic movies that I love so much. Disney had the BEST run of movies in the 90's. I have got to rewatch them!

What is a double digit party?

And it KILLS me when Mufasa dies! I just imagine poor Simba crawling under his paw. Ahhh!

And all of the 90's Disney movies rocked!

Chapter 7: Day 1 Plans! and a quick life update, :)

Finally, a new update!! For everyone who is following along, thanks for sticking with me!

So, day two plans. There is never a question on where we are going. MAGIC KINGDOM! It's tradition to start off our vacations with the most magical place in the world..well in my opinion,

441.jpg

Here's the deal though..we don't plan what ride we are going to hit first, how we are going to walk through the park, or what time we have to be at certain places (unless they are ADRs). Because of this, I wasn't sure how exactly I wanted to approach writing the plans for this day. I didn't want to say, oh we are going to MK. Done.

So, I made my family write down their "must-dos" and some things that they have never done for each park. Then you can see someof the things that we are all looking forward to doing again (because we love it so much) and things we all want to try (so you can give us some feedback, or make fun :rolleyes1 ) I am hoping that this will be cool for all of you readers! :)

Alright then, onto the must-dos.

1. Rope Drop!!!- This was on each persons list. I love it!!! It is the one thing that finally says, "You're in Disney World! Go have funn!" My mom sings the good morning song to me and my sister all of the time. It is just something that we all have to see, and Jon wants to see for the first time!!
07trip11.jpg

2. Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin- This is also one that is on everyone's list! TOO FUN! We all compete to see who can get the best score, and me and my sister know a lot of secretsss! So we always do well, :woohoo: (pm me and I'll fill ya in ;) )
** I don't have any good pictures here! I'll have to get one!

3. Pineapple Dole Whip. Everyone in my family HAS to have them. It is honestly the BEST desert in MK (for me the cream cheese pretzel is a close second!!). If you have never had dole whip..we all would HIGHLY recommend it! haha! And, Aloha Isle also has some fabulous pineapple juice and slices. It's very yummy!
406.jpg

4. PhilharMagic! I think this is the BEST 3D show in WDW. This is also mostly because I'm terrified of the other shows. I don't know why, but I don't handle them very well! My family loves this show as well, including Jon. I don't really know what it is..but it just combines all of the movies and songs that I LOVE and grew up with. You know, the classics, :P
**Another picture I do not have! horrible disney fan

5. Haunted Mansion/ Pirates of the Caribbean. These, I feel, go hand in hand. They are the two best rides in Disney, and made it onto everyones list. They both just scream Disney and how they take something and run with it. All of the special effects in HM amaze me to this day. Please don't tell me how they make all of those ghosts dance. I don't want to know!! And in Pirates, the scene where you sail between the ships. I love looking up and seeing the starts and clouds! That screams DISNEY BABY! I'm sure that my family agrees, ;)
412.jpg

407.jpg

THIS IS HARD TO NARROW DOWN. I know, I'm including a lot. But there is so much! I can't leave anything out!!!

6. The mountains. All three. Space Mt. Splash Mt. & Big Thunder Mt. They are the ultimate thrill rides here at MK. Although they can seem "tame," they are classic, fun, and my favorites! (I know, I say this a lot!) I mean, who doesn't love 'em. I will admit though, I was scared of them at one point or another in my life, :)
*Remind me to strap my camera to my wrist this trip!!*

7. Wishes. This is on my list. Make fun of me all you want, but I have this on my ipod and listen to it almost every night. It is my favorite firework show, and I wouldn't miss it for the world!
254.jpg

8. My sister and I love just standing on main street and taking it all in. I think a lot of people rush through to get to the rides and find their favorite characters. Main Street, USA is one magical place people. I think that if you get a chance to just walk down in the morning and absorb all of the excitement from the kids, new parents, families you will know exactly what I am talking about. Oh, and you can't forget about picturess!!!
405.jpg

9. Whoa! I had to come back and add this! HOW COULD I FORGET! The Carousel of Progress. Probably the best ride in the park, hands down. I don't really think that I need to say more, except..There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!!!!!!

So, those are our must-dos. I would LOVE to hear about some of yours too!

Even though we have been to WDW a bunch of times, there are some things that we have never done. Embarrassing, I know. So here are...three big ones.
1. The bakery. I want to get something! I have never been in there! :(
2. Ice cream from the Plaza! What?! How could we have missed this for sooo long!!
3. Main Street Electrical Parade! I don't remember this parade! If I've seen it, it was when I was too little to remember! I CAN'T WAIT! :D

Well, that was the longest post EVER! Hopefully, you don't get too bored reading and come back! :rotfl:

Side note, I went to the Disney Orchestra concert last weekend. It was wonderful! They had singers come and preform some of the best Disney Classics. I had sooo much fun! It was a small Disney fix, but we talked about it for the rest of the weekend! :D

It's almost time for the semester to be over!!! Only two weeks left! :yay::yay: Be expecting many more updates soon!!!

139-2.jpg

See ya real soon! 82 dayss! :cloud9:

OH YEA, WATCH THIS

Happy Easter Everyone!! :goodvibes

I'm too excited about being able to watch it from there. Well, hopefully being able to watch it from there!! I'm not sure what time the show will be over..I'm hoping before one or the other! Either way though, I'll be happy to be starting my vacation off there! And I CAN'T WAIT TO GET TONGA TOAST. I don't even know what it tastes like and I'm excited. :lmao:

I parasailed at Virginia beach and the caribbean. Once was just the harness and the other was the chair. I liked them both but the harness was cool cause you were dangling.. I liked when they dipped you in the water and then send you back up again..

What is tonga toast? Is it like a french toast?

Parasailing is definitely something that I want to do, so hopefully I have time to try it! It sounds fun either way!
And I guess Tonga Toast is like french toast! :confused3 I have never had it but constantly see people raving about it! I want to try it, so I am going to get it while I'm down there (fingers crossed)!

Oh yes. Dole Whips are a must.

Gotta love it!! :woohoo:

Great PTR so far!

Yes, Dole Whips are a must do!

The Polynesian is to me what Wilderness Lodge is to you, you'll love watching the Electrical Water Pageant from the beach!

My first must-do in the MK is Pirates pirate:. I love doing that right after rope drop, the pavement is still usually wet in Adventureland from the previous night's powerwashing and I just love the atmosphere. Pirates is in my top 5, even with the Johnny Depp-ing of the attraction.

Thanks!! The Poly is someplace that I would love to stay eventually! It seems so pretty!
I love pirates! I just love the smell of it! Weird, I know

What is a double digit party?

And it KILLS me when Mufasa dies! I just imagine poor Simba crawling under his paw. Ahhh!

And all of the 90's Disney movies rocked!

Glad we can agree that the 90's movies are the BEST! haha
Ah, don't make me think about it!!! :( :(
and a double digit party is just when you get to 99 days until your vacation!! haha :goodvibes

your MK day sounds a lot like our favorites list.
Wishes is hands down the best part of the evening.

Chapter 8: Day 3!!

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend! I finally watched Tangled over the weekend and I LOVE LOVE LOVED it! It made me laugh and cry and laugh! :rotfl: It was absolutely great! I figured I would include some pictures from my weekend...
125-2.jpg

My baby!
120-2.jpg

Lovin my major!

Now, onto what we are really hear for..Disney stuff! Haha. Day 3, Saturday. I'm excited for this day! We will be going to my favorite park...EPCOT! :lovestruc I love EPCOT. I don't know what it is or why I love it some much..I just do, :)

066-1-1.jpg

I'm going to do the same thing that I did for Magic Kingdom and talk about my families "must-dos" as well as somethings that we would like to do!

1. Soarin'- My ABSOLUTE favorite ride in WDW. Crazy, I know. But it's just the feeling of flying, it makes my stomach drop..in a good way! I just think this ride is perfect! I could ride it a million times! :P But seriously, this is a family favorite and I cannot wait to smell those oranges! :goodvibes
133-1-1.jpg

2. Exploring the World Showcase! So, the past couple times we have been to WDW, this has gotten kind of grazed over. Not that we haven't gone through each land, but we haven't really gone through each country. I want to look at everything around the WS and see the little things inside all of the countries stores and "stuff." We have done the hats from each land before (lost on my crashed computer) so maybe we can find something along those lines to do again! :cool1:

3. Test Track! It's a good time! I love it! It's one of my dad's favorites, as well as everyone else! Can I just say, on a hot day, that spin outside is the best! I was so scared the first time I rode it, I thought the truck was going to hit us! AHH! :scared1: hahaha. It's never a let down!
129-1-1.jpg

4. Spaceship Earth! AKA the Ball! Ah, so classic. One of the best, most relaxing rides in the world. I love the new ending too! It's so fun! It's always a fight as to who gets to answer those questions though! ;)

5. ELLEN! I love Ellen Degeneres. So this ride is a must. The best part is driving through the dinosaurs. Then..the best part of the ride after that is taking a nap. Okay, I know it sounds HORRIBLE. But it's sooo relaxing! I know, I know..There should be no excuses to sleep on rides. But, just a suggestion, if you're a little tired, need a little break, this is a hilarious and relaxing way to do it, :)

6. Stopping at the Pop place! I like to taste the yummy pop flavors, and watch people drink the nasty ones. :P That is all, :)

7. Mission:Space. This is not so much for me, but for my dad. I have only ridden it once, and I disliked it. But he really likes it and wants to ride it! So I added it!

8. The Patisserie is France..just YUMMMMM! That is all, :)

9. Walking in the front of EPCOT. My momma loves this part. She loves music and the feeling! She always wants to do it, even when we stayed at the BC and could walk in the back!

10. FIND ALADDIN AND MARRY HIM. okay, this one's just for me and my childhood fantasies. But in all seriousness I at least want a picture.

Alright, soooo, There a few things that we all want to do throughout EPCOT. We have done a lot of everything here, but there are always more things to do!

1. Innoventions- Sum of All Thrills is in her, which I would like to see and maybe try. And there is just a lot that I have never done!

2. Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure! I know, Grow up Kayla! But I refuse, so I will hopefully be doing this during our time here!

3. Get a snack in each country! It doesn't have to be in one day, but I would like to try a little something from every where!

4. Drink around the world! My mom and I would love to try something from each country! I'm sure that this will be a fun time! :woohoo: hahaha

5. Jon wants to become a drumming janitor! So, we'll see how this goes! HAHA

So that is basically everything that we want to do in EPCOT this trip! We will be there several times, so it shouldn't be a problem!

Also, this is the day we have reservation at Le Cellier! I can't wait for the BEST steak ever, ;) ;) But seriously, it is the best steak in the world. After, we will probably stick around for Illuminations, and then head back to the WL. I know that I will be exhausted, even after my Ellen nap, ;)

149.jpg

I leave you with this, A dream is a wish your heart makes when you're fast asleep. In dreams you will lose your heartaches. Whatever you wish for, you keep. Have faith in your dreams, and someday, your rainbow will come smiling through. No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing, the dreams that you wish will come true.

See ya real soon! :yay:

You should definitely try parasailing - my kids love it. The have done it over at the Contemporary.

Kim Possible missions are great - and I am MUCH older than you, and still enjoy them!!!

Epcot it my favorite park too - I love being there.
